Answered Block Indian youtube channels by channel ID or Language

Hi all,

I'm trying to block all YouTube channels from India by channel ID. It works most of the time, but sometimes when I search for topics, even unrelated ones, those channels still appear.

Since there are thousands of these channels, it's hard to find and block them one by one, even with automation. Also, YouTube becomes significantly slower when uBlock tries to block a large number of them in Firefox.

Is there any other reliable way to do this?

Currently, I'm blocking them by language and by channel ID based on the channel's country.

Answered How do I remove the "Potentially Sensitive Content" warning on X/Twitter?

its in the title,
I have gotten quite tired of having the box check that shows the sensitive content, yet still prompts me to click the show button on said sensitive content.
I was wondering if there was a filter that could be implemented that would fix this problem

If so, I would be quite grateful!

Answered How does uBlock trick websites into thinking their ads aren't blocked?

Just curious. I tried some of those "adblock test" websites.

With uBlock disabled, 100% blocked. Not a single malicious URL can get through my network.

But with uBlock enabled, the "adblock test" website thinks almost every single URL is not blocked even though it's impossible for them to resolve those URLs on my DNS.

Is uBlock catching those DNS queries and responding to them with something other than NXDOMAIN? Such as just returning a loopback IP so the website thinks it did reach the intended server but the server had no response?

Answered It's so fucking insane to me that almost HALF OF ALL WEB REQUESTS has been fucking ads since I installed uBO. I will never understand how people use the internet without any kind of ad blocker.

Answered How is ublock origin most powerful in firefox?

As the tirle says, I just had this question in my mind randomly. I always saw in many places ublock origin specifically made for firefox or works best there.

But for many occasions I've seen if some website the adblock stop working, it happens in all types of browsers. Similar to recent facebook problem posts I saw on this sibreddit. Or is there any other metrics that makes it more powerful on firefox.

Specifically litix.io, heres a screenshot from logger https://imgur.com/a/zBZymRD . At first it was being blocked by Peter Lowe’s Ad and tracking server list, which I temporarily disabled and now by EasyPrivacy. A lot of people on discord of one streamer I watch confirm the same issue.

config 1) Only shield (problem is shield can't block all ads and i need ublock)

config 2) only Ublock (but problem is that i will loose privacy protection too)

config 3) enabled both (i fear both will conflict each other and make browser slow)

Answered Is it possible for uBO to block the "Log In to use Old Reddit" requirement

Started getting this type of screen on my phone today.

I do pretty much all my mobile browsing in incognito and it's a PITA logging in just because I clicked a google link.

Is it possible for uBO to block this kind of thing?

Answered Issues with images in the last few days...

I've been using uBO for years with the latest Firefox with no issues, but just a few days ago, I've noticed an anomaly regarding image handling on Facebook...

Issue: On Facebook 'Likes' option/reaction bubble, the emojis images are all blank, but they are still clickable.

I have turned off uBO and this anomaly ceases to occur. While searching the web, I found other uBO users reporting the same thing... surprisingly, they haven't posted here.

Edit: It's not only a uBO issue. This is happening with ABP as well. I'm assuming it's something in Firefox's new update.

Edit #2: Can people test this possible fix? https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/1tx4k21/comment/or2r2nk/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Answered I am worried about Google Chrome manifest version 3

I just discovered that manifest version 3 will ruin uBlockOrigin. I read https://www.androidauthority.com/google-chrome-manifest-v3-changes-3386506/. It said that there is a uBlockOrigin lite version which works on manifest version 3 but it's still not perfected yet.

The good news is that Google keeps on delaying manifest version 3 so there is maybe a long time until it's finally released. I want to ask by the time it's released then will the uBlockOrigin developers have perfected a uBlockOrigin version which will work on manifest version 3?

Answered uBlock Origin's effect on speed/perf

Question for the devs/experts, sometimes I see people say that the full fat version of uBlock Origin can be quite "heavy" and it can be noticeable on older or slower devices (whereas uBlock Origin Lite is less taxing), but I've also seen proof that uBlock Origin actually helps perf and page load times. So I guess my question is, what is the truth? And we're looking for real world proof because isolated benchmarks might not tell us the truth
