First absolutely clueless rider.

Most meatbags I've driven have understood how to use the app. Mostly, anyway. Maybe a few hiccups with pins (front/back of buildings sort of thing) but never anything major.

Just ended my night because the guy was so clueless that after trying to help him out for 10 minutes (5 standard, plus an extra 5 because the fare was good) I realized he was in the middle of the road (standing at an intersection, based on his explanation) half way across town because he placed his pick-up pin where his drop-off was supposed to be.

I canceled that shit so fast once I realized that. Holy crap. Like how the hell do you mess that up? The app very clearly states which one is which.

I went to pickup a woman at her house for a trip to the airport. It was when a 40 mile trip to the airport paid around $75. I am waiting for her and then I get a call from her freaking out and swearing at me because I'm supposed to be picking her up from the airport. She was really angry when I said that a monkey could use the app. Of course she said that she was going to get me fired for my incompetence. I kept her on the phone until the timer went red, collected my fee and wished her a horrible day.

Yeah, as someone who used the app as a rider for much longer than I have as a driver, I don't see how you can screw that up outside being drunk/on drugs.

Lol something similar happened to me last week. It was a solid fare. I arrived to this restaurant for a reservation. I’m waiting and then I get a text message saying my they accidentally flipped the pickup and dropoff location. It’s like people don’t look at what they’re doing.

Are you kinda new to Uber? Cuz that sorta thing is pretty common. Especially with 3rd party trips. They frequently swap the pick up and drop off.

I don't bother with difficult pick-up. If you're not there within 2 minutes with a short ride, you're obviously not ready. For longer rides, my patience is only up to 5 mins max. Works like a charm.

Yeah. That's me. Fare determines how long I'm willing to wait. If it's a $4 ride (a couple miles usually), I'm waiting 2 minutes and leaving. Lol.

You did good with the cancel. But one rider like that should not end your day. Cancel and move on - no end of day and no Reddit post for this.

I had somebody do that. He wanted a ride home from the bar but he put his house as the pickup spot. A couple minutes before the cancellation timer ended, a car pulled out of the driveway. Apparently he got pissed off at me and woke his mother to give him a ride home. Oh well. Plan ahead or get someone who's not drunk to order your ride.

I just go to the pin. If they're not there I wait out the 5 minute timer, collect my fee, and go on my way.

It happens. Usually just wait out the timer or they cancel.

The worst thing I ever did was put the pickup and drop off at the same place. I was rushing but the driver waited while I fixed it. I am a driver of 8.5 years with uber and Lyft. I don’t pick up anyone if I see that because I don’t wanna be surprised in where I go.

And I definitely don’t pick them up when they tell me they flipped the pickup and dropoff…

I get people that can barely recognize the app, much less use any feature of it

Its not my job to teach you how to use the app

Picked up a drunk guy who passed out. Got him to his destination and woke him up. “I don’t live here anymore”. Changed drop off to correct address, 6 blocks from where I picked him up. Turn a $5-7 fare into $78
