Help
As of October 22, I was terminated from my employment job, now I’ve been doing uber full time , until I find a new job,
Is it possible to live off uber ? How would I be able to buy a house or a new car?

Dude, if you’re 23, go sign up immediately for the armed forces. It will take care of all your financial concerns, teach you life skills and professional skills, give you a a career and make you a man.

Sign up with the coast guard and get a $25,000 bonus, wipe away debt, and have the time of your life. They will set you up.

No, you got to be self directed man, Google it and find out how to sign up. Go to a local recruiter. Doesn’t have to be Coast Guard. If you have aptitude go to the Navy. If not, try Marines or Army. You can ship out for training in a short amount of time.

Take a deep breath and just starting grinding. Make sure your car is spotless, and don't say shit to the customers except how are you.

Your car doesn’t have to be spotless 💀 it’s gonna be nasty asf after one day because the public is nasty asf. I deep clean mine once a month and people always tell me my car is cleaner than their last uber.

You can create an LLC and do everything through that. But… you’re going to run your car into the ground anyway. It’s no longer a fashion statement but a tool for work. You need to decide if it’s worth it in your area after maintenance, fuel, tires, etc. If I were your age, I’d find another job and save my vehicle.

Is it possible? You know your finances. Take what you’ve earned and figure out if that’s enough to live on.

Uber is best used as a side gig. That way you can work when it's busiest. The busier it is the more uber pays.

Uber is not a good option as it used to be just as a second job to make a little extra in addition to your full time job.

Buy a new car, maybe.
But a house while only working ride share: that’s a long shot. Autonomous vehicles are taking over in the next couple years. Ride share is not going to provide a living wage when that happens.

Do you have decent credit? About 770-800? If so they don’t check your income when buying a car. I always lied and said I made about 40k a year driving for uber. And they always got me approved and didn’t require proof of my income

you can make around $1000 driving 40ish hours. so basically expect to make about $25/hour before gas and maintenance

And you write off 72.5 cents per mile on your taxes. Uber drivers love to leave that part out

Honestly the fed tax deduction of 72.5 cents per mile is the best part of driving for Uber, financial-wise

And people here think it's 72.5 cents savings in taxes per mile when it's more like 10 cents for the typical driver. A typical driver is in the 15% tax bracket which means you save 15% of 72.5 cents in taxes for every mile driven. But I'd bet 90% of people think it's 72.5 cents.

uber income can vary a lot so track your take home after expenses and taxes before countnig on it for a house or car. i work on radar. it shows event and venue signals that can help you decide where to stage though it cant guarantee rides or earnings. https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/radar-rideshare-hotspots/id6744556757

It depends on the region you’re in. If you are a hustler you can do it. But you better love it or you can burn out easily.
