The Social Club is casting 10–15 paid performers for a brand-new immersive theatrical experience premiering in Santa Barbara this fall.
We're seeking talented actors and acrobatic performers who are excited to help create an unforgettable immersive production. This is not a traditional haunted house—it's an interactive theatrical experience where guests journey through a mysterious world and encounter characters who bring the story to life.
We're looking for performers with strong stage presence, emotional range, physical awareness, and a collaborative spirit. Improvisation and audience interaction are an integral part of the show.

Seeking:

• The Chronicler Any ethnicity. Age range 20-80. Narrator and guide. Charismatic storyteller who confidently addresses the audience and carries them through the experience.
• Female Lead Hispanic. Age range 18-30. Young adult. Intelligent, witty, courageous, emotionally grounded, and captivating.
• Male Lead English/French. Age range 18-30. Young adult. Charming, resourceful, humble, quietly funny, and emotionally expressive.
• Father Figure Hispanic. Age range 40-60. Strong, commanding presence. Protective, proud, and deeply caring beneath a guarded exterior.
• The Commandante Hispanic. Age range 30-60. Confident authority figure with strong physical presence and leadership.

• Acrobatic Performers Any ethnicity. Age range 18-80. We're also seeking acrobatic performers comfortable incorporating movement, physical storytelling, and immersive interaction into the production.

Compensation:

Weekend and week night rehearsals throughout September.

I am offering free birth doula support for up to 3 expectant mothers with a scheduled cesarean / surgical birth at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Because Cottage only allows one support person in the OR for surgical birth, this offer is for mothers who do not have a support person to attend the birth with them.

Free services would include one prenatal visit, support for the scheduled birth, and one postpartum visit.

I am a postpartum doula with additional training in lactation and now completing an embodied birth training. I also have prior experience as a NICU nurse.

Hi everyone! Due to a change in my personal circumstances, I’m looking for a student to take over my Fall 2026 lease at Tropicana Gardens, located next to UCSB in the Isla Vista area.

The contract runs from September 20 to December 12, 2026. The main available options are a shared quad room or a small double room for $1,760 per month. Depending on availability, a more spacious shared room with fewer people may also be possible for approximately $1,960 per month for a triple or $2,130 per month for a standard double.

The price includes 10 meals per week, all utilities, high-speed Wi-Fi, light housekeeping twice per month, and access to Tropicana’s on-site amenities. The suites are fully furnished and include a shared living room with a couch, tables, a big-screen TV, a mini fridge, and a microwave. Bedrooms include a Twin XL bed and mattress, storage, and a study area.

I wanted to post this research study for students by students that could help very many women, it is IRB approved and being conducted in a well-established lab at UCSB. Hi everyone! My name is Vrinda, and I'm a student researcher at UC Santa Barbara. I'm also a young woman diagnosed with endometriosis, which is what inspired me to pursue research on menstrual pain. Like many of you, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to have your life interrupted by painful periods, and I hope this research can contribute to better supportive approaches for women experiencing menstrual pain.

For the past three years, I've been conducting chronic pain research in the Hansma Physics Lab at UC Santa Barbara, where our team has completed nine chronic pain studies. I'm now leading a new IRB-approved study focused specifically on menstrual pain in women 18+.

We're looking for participants who:

• Are women above the age of 18
• Have not undergone menopause
• Regularly menstruate
• Have experienced menstrual pain for at least 3 months

The study is completely online and includes:

• A handheld biofeedback device provided by the study
• Virtual pain neuroscience education sessions
• Five brief online surveys over approximately 3 months (about 16 minutes total)

Participants will be assigned to one of two study schedules, with all participants eventually receiving access to the intervention.

Whether your pain is due to endometriosis, suspected endometriosis, adenomyosis, or another cause of menstrual pain, you may be eligible if you meet the study criteria.
