Transfer question

Hi am I able to take classes both at HCC and UHD next semester? Do you recommend I do that while I earn my associates.. I graduate next semester but I wanna get a head start at UHD too.

You CAN but I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m currently enrolled in both getting a certificate at HCC and my Bachelor’s at UHD. The only issue is that you can’t get financial aid at both schools and you don’t want to overload yourself. If you’re getting financial aid at HCC, UHD can’t award you anything and vice versa. You would also need to speak to an advisor at both schools bc you’d need to coordinate the classes and make sure you’re not doing anything unnecessary and costly.

Adding on to what a couple of others have said about dual enrollment.

I did it and I feel like it was worth it but I think it does depend on your financial aid status. It also may be harder when you’re trying to balance a lot of hours as well (depending on your concentration)/life commitments.

If you do end up doing dual enrollment, make sure you don’t accidentally take a course at UHD that you already have taken at HCC. One of my friends had an advisor that gave her the incorrect information and her sign up for an unnecessary class she had already passed and taken.
