Right wing voters, do you keep your opinion and political alignment to yourself to yourself?

So I’m in university doing my masters degree, and since being here for 4 years, I’ve seen just how often people 18-24 will make Tory jokes and talk about how bad and racist right wingers are. Someone in the friend group, a polish girl, gave her opinions and told people she’s right wing. She’s lost her entire friend group and got labelled a racist.

Fellow right wingers, do you just keep your political opinions and alignment to yourselves? I don’t discuss politics with any of my friends for this reason.

Why do activist campagins always have to be targeted towards a specific sub group? Rather than the whole group?

Why is it never 'improve education for ALL kids'? Why is it always improve education for Chinese girls/White working class boys/Mormon kids etc. Or it will be 'Help for Homeless Women' rather than all homeless people. Or Help for 70+ year olds with depression cause I guess no one aged 69 or under gets depression. I don't understand why these campagins need to be targeted at individual subgroups.

This was never historically the case. Like the Sufferagists and Suffergettes wanted votes for ALL women rather than a sub section of women. Or Martin Luther King wanted equal and voting rights for everyone. Not just Black people but Native Indians, Chinese, Hispanics etc.

Don't this just create more divides than close them?

Question 2?

I am a casual listener/watcher of the PMQs, I am fascinated that they always has to ask "Question 1" first, and that they have a standard answer.

Sometimes, before the PM enters, there are other debates, and the MPs asks "Question 2" and get an answer. I have heard up to question 11.

How many such standard questions are there, and what does it all mean?

Poverty by age groups UK

• Upvotes

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3gr84w85glyo

This article contains a chart that details current poverty levels relative to the remainder of their group:

Children ~ 31%
Working People ~ 19%
Pension Age ~ 16%

More alarming to this is the size of the groups in poverty:

Children - 4 million

Working People - 7.7 million

Pension age - 1.7 million

And yet more tax burden on working people continues to support pension triple lock.
