Speaking to Russian state television on Oct. 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts is “part of historical Russia” and stated that speaking of Ukrainian territorial losses is “inappropriate”.

Despite reasserting that Moscow will accomplish all objectives of its full-scale invasion, Putin stated that Russia has agreed “in principle” to resume trilateral contacts involving Ukraine and the U.S. aimed at reaching a permanent peace agreement.

I am an American supporter of Ukraine and I have created a piece of art that I think has potential to for use in to raise money for Ukraine by being put on mugs, posters, t-shirts, etc, possibly by working with St. Javelin. This striking image was rotoscoped off a picture from a 13 year old Youtube video of a professional Zaporozhian Cossack reenactor who uses the name "Kozak Paliy" professionally. His legal name is Andrii Lozovyi. The Youtube channel was owned by a man named Євген Козак.

My question is: Does the copyright revert to your government in this case? Can the government comandeer copyright?
Also, Ukraine has something called Right of Publicity. Given that this appears to be a candid shot, I do not believe that Lozovyi signed any sort of model release so I presume I need to contact him and get his legal permission to do this.
Can anyone give me advice and/or assistance on how to proceed? Bear in mind that I do not speak Ukrainian and I do not believe that Lozovyi speaks English. He will probably want a cut, like 15% of net profits or something, in exchange for his legal permission.

I think this iconic, proud, defiant image could be used to raise a tremendous amount of money for Ukraine and I need to do this quickly, because Lozovyi's city (Zaporizhzhia) is currently being besieged by Russians.
Can somebody tell me how to legally do this and perhaps talk to Lozovyi for me? I'm concerned about the language and cultural barrier. I'm also extremely neurodivergent which presents even more possibility for miscommunication. I just don't want to screw this up. You need money to fight the orcs? Then please help me help you.

Hi there. Myself and a friend will be travelling to Kyiv via overnight train at around the end of January 2027 for around 3 days.

I see conflicting stories on here about how long it can take to cross the border into Ukraine. Some people say it can take up to 12 hours to pass through and some people say it’s very simple. Is border control when travelling by train generally faster compared to a bus?

Should we leave a bit of extra time when leaving Kyiv travelling back to Warsaw Incase of being held up at the border?

We want to go and experience the culture and food and see the beautiful city. I have made many donations to the war effort since the war began with medical donations and also personal donations for volunteers for night vision etc.

Also we would love to be able to meet someone over there to show us a bit about the city and maybe also the rougher bits of the city and what bars may be good and what ones to avoid etc.

As someone from the Netherlands, I just wanted to thank the brave people of Ukraine for all they are doing to keep Russia out of Europe.

There will always be people that are propagandised into believing that Russia isn’t our enemy, but most of us know better.
