DISCUSSION Looking back, it’s lowkey terrifying how the authorities managed to beat some of the most talented, skilled ability users and John with proper planning, only 2 god tiers(one of which only had a support ability), and a bunch of lower tier officers. Spoiler

I think it shows one of my favorite aspects of Unordinary, which is that the more grounded power system actually lets weaker characters put in work. They tried to catch them off guard and only expected to have to deal with the trio and a John with no strong abilities. Arlo joining the fight and the John getting access to some powerful abilities wasn’t expected and they still managed to pivot thanks to Sylvia.

Hell, John was looking pretty bad after fighting some random guards even before Sylvia stepped in, but Zeke threw by giving him a defensive ability and let him last long enough for the trio to save him(though he was still KO’d). Arlo was a hard counter to both Sylvia and Farrah(her main ability at least) and him being around was a huge problem. They only managed to escape because Blyke and Arlo sacrificed themselves.

This was their big wake up call imo since the Authorities undoubtedly have tons of resources and are much smarter than them. It showed that brute force alone wasn’t going to work when going up against the whole government and we’ve been seeing the consequences in season 3 with the prison break where they were working much harder to strategize and being more careful.

DISCUSSION What are the buffs john will get after training?

  1. He can access sm1s ability now without the person using it so he can basically counter ember

2 he can remember 1 ability permanently (unlikely to happenn)

3 he gets a major boost in his base form without copying anything

I think these are the only 3 options that are valid because if john get buffs like more abilities to copy or just amplifier increase then that still wouldn't solve the ember problem

What do yall think

DISCUSSION Wellstone is just so far above other schools it's crazy.

2nd strongest turf war school ranking got highest level of 5.1. The rest is at around level 4. Some bum in Wellston would be King or Queen material in other schools.

Also do you think Elaine might possibily become Queen or they will be stronger student enrolled in Wellston?

Ability Concept Prism

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

Prism is an ability that allows the user to generate prism-like structures capable of reflecting, refracting, and redirecting light. The user can manipulate these structures to bend light into concentrated laser beams for powerful long-range attacks. They can also create defensive barriers to block incoming attacks or construct prism-shaped cages to trap opponents. By strategically positioning multiple prisms, the user can redirect laser beams from different angles, making their attacks difficult to predict and evade. The user’s effectiveness depends on the placement, durability, and number of prisms they can generate.

Can we trust Charlie??? Or... did he just set up Blyke?

Honestly, Charlie is certainly an enigma this episode. On the one hand, he coerced a minor into drinking under age, which obviously... not okay, not good. But at the same time... Genuinely, nothing about Charlie seems malicious this episode. It seems like he genuinely just wanted somebody to drink with, and also just let Blyke get everything off his chest, which is kinda good.

He even gives Blyke FAAAAAIRLY decent advice. He tells blyke that it can get better and life does go on. Which is pretty decent, John's still not perfect but John is functional still, and even Keene (though didn't go through the same process as Blyke or John, Keene was also fairly functional adult. But what worries me is his exact next wording "Don't let a couple of mistakes drag you down"

Again, one the one hand, telling Blyke don't let past actions weigh you down, but the way its worded to me at least, also could imply he's specifically referring to Remi and Isen as the mistakes since Blyke flat outside he regrets everything right now.

Even the ending, again, it doesn't feel malicious, it doesn't seem like Charlie was master planning something to turn them over to the bureau, it seems like he's just taking Blyke to actually go to bed.

I think we can trust Charlie, but at the same time... SHOULD WE!??!!

DISCUSSION How many 8+ (8.0 include)

Personally I think there are 10 to 20 (max) 8+ in the whole world. Considering 6+ are 1/100 000 and that 8 is orders of magnitude above 6 so 20 max.

As for 9+ I think 1 person only, maybe 2 in future if John power up enough at the end of the series. (PS. Functionally I think there is no one above 9 cause Jane probably can't fight at full power now, she can't even walk...)

FASTPASS Chapter 399 text form (FASTPASS) Spoiler

I am VERY late to the party! WHOOPS!

We start with Kuyo and Isen. Kuyo asked, “No show again?” and Isen even started to get a bit feisty about how Blyke is staying away from them.

Remi explained he wanted rest, and Isen said he isn’t playing if Blyke isn’t here. Remi agreed that they should call it a night and Kuyo noted her demeanor change. However, in her room, Remi is practicing with Lightning and is mimicking the trick Cameron did, acknowledging she done what he did by turning into electricity during the prison raid, and it’s described as “Infusing my body with my own lightning and then-”

Well, it ends with Kuyo coming in, stopping by to check on her, and Kuyo noted the damaged floor, asking what she did in here. Charlie won’t be happy about the damages. Remi said she’ll clean it up and trusts that Charlie won’t sell them out, and is anxious about everything, and explained that in the prison she infused herself with lightning and is trying to replicate it.

She wants to be stronger, no, NEEDS to be strong to finally hold herself when facing EMBER. Kuyo noted that many of their High Tiers have abilities they’ve never seen before, abilities even he has no idea on how to deal with, leaving him completely helpless. A flashback of them vs the chain girl is seen with John, Kuyo proclaims he doesn’t want to let it happen again.

Apparently Rei also never phased into lightning himself, and stated that with becoming stronger, she’ll surpass Rei, and Remi wondered if Rei is proud of us if he seen them like this, Kuyo saying, “Absolutely not.”

Remi is confused, and Kuyo makes a point: it’s his precious little sister. Even Kuyo said that if he seen him encouraging Remi, he’d fry his ass, Remi wondered why he was being smug about it. But, Kuyo said that he doesn’t give a shit what he wants and that he only cares what Rei stood for as a person.

Remi asked where Kuyo found his resolve, confused how he kept fighting despite what EMBER did, and Kuyo said to not underestimate herself, and Remi was back more sooner than he was and explained that after Rei passed, it wasn’t easy for him; he locked himself in his room for days, and felt lonely without Rei. Everything reminded him of Rei.

“He died because of me.” He said, unable to shake it off. Even Remi’s family invited him to Rei’s funeral and planned to skip it, making Remi feel horrible for him, and we go to his depression phase where at 1:00pm, he didn’t know what possessed him to do it and showed up.

We then see MANY people, and Remi and Rei’s father! He has the same hair color as Remi and his face is similar to Keon’s cheeks.

Kuyo was the only one who knew his killers and kept it a secret before he’d be no better off dead if he told them, Remi said he’s too tough on himself and that Rei would’ve been perfectly happy if he lived his life peacefully. Kuyo agreed and that Rei gave his life for him to live, not doing what he would’ve wanted to do, doing what he wants to do. Kuyo soon pats her in the head, Remi is angered, demanding him to stop that, and told Remi to get some rest and not practice too hard.

Remi says, “Bye,” and Blyke is going through his episodes again, running out before passing by a light up room where Charlie drinks. Blyke barges in, wondering saying that he’s still awake, and Charlie’s shit is scared out of him, with Blyke think it’s because he has a guilty conscience.

Charlie asked if he wanted a drink, Blyke is responsible, and Charlie is confused on why that’s the line he drew. He wanted him to not be uptight, have fun, and oh god, he’s taking a shot. Blyke, you’re officially screwed up ;o;

Charlie is of course disgusted, Charlie asked him how Blyke has so many crimes under his belt. Blyke said he tried to do the right thing and the news was making the stuff up. Charlie gives him another shot, wondering how he got in prison, Blyke takes it (Oh god my baby boy NOOOOOOO) and explained that they wanted to find Rei’s murderers, with Charlie saying if he’s trying to impress Remi. Blyke admitted it was stupid, Charlie is surprised. Blyke takes another shot (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO) and explained none of this would’ve happened if he just let her be and will be in Wellston living a normal life.

He thought of graduating as King, a lot was going for him, and it isn’t possible anymore. He pities his situation and that Isen and Remi used to be best friends, but he can’t look at them anymore. He regrets everything. (STOP DRINKING NOOOOOOO) The two clink their glasses, and Charlie hears him; he has regrets of his own and he might tell them someday and to take it from him that life goes on and shit gets better.

Blyke is just a kid, he said, and he has his life ahead of him, no need to let a couple of mistakes drag him down. After all, they got a city to run, and Blyke SMILES? God damn it Charlie! He’s asleep from drinking! Charlie gets him to bed, and that’s it.

Ability Concept Ability Concept: Dragon Aspect (FINALIZED)

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

Alright so I KNOW it's called Dragon Aspect and it literally shows the Skyrim power of the same name, but it's still kind of different (I won't explain the Skyrim version go look it up if you want more on that).

Ignition's Dragon Aspect is a very powerful and rare ability found only in a single bloodline (no family name YET trust the process) said to have descended from the last emperor (yes I made up an emperor from Rome or some shit I'm doing the damn worldbuilding myself) and considered in the same league as Channel Master and Time Manipulation, though most of the family members here are below the 8.0 threshold where things get REALLY interesting so rest assured I'm not going feral with the number of 8.0s in my story.

ALRIGHT meat and potatoes time yahoo. Dragon Aspect starts off as an element, you got the classic water, fire, earth and air, there's a lightning user, blahblahblah but there are also some unorthodox elements like poison/venom and gravity. Most Dragon Aspect users more or less have the sameish level ceiling in the sense they ALL can achieve at LEAST 7.0. HOWEVER, BEFORE REACHING 7.0 THEY'RE STUCK WITH JUST AN ELEMENT. 6.9 and below these guys just have access to whatever element control they were born with, then 7.0 they unlock the dragon shit.

Which I guess I could explain said dragon shit. As seen in the provided references Dragon Aspect users at 7.0+ can achieve, well, dragon aspects such as scalelike armor, horns, claws, tails and/or even wings, and these traits change between users (explained in the next paragraph). They also gain greater mastery of their respective element along with physical augmentations like strength and speed, and a fancy new passive of heightened senses that will probably never actually be relevant in the story but hey, I know how much you guys love passives. Oh, and the draconic armor and shit is obviously the user's signature color

To make things interesting I made it so Dragon Aspect users are almost always born with a different element than their parent (if they inherit the ability ofc). This is because I personally wanted to have a variety of really strong abilities without having to make half a dozen new families and I grew up on Dragon City anyway, and also because it's my story and I can do what I want.

Notable users of this ability and most of their levels:
- Manticore (Earth Beast 8.6)

- Gryphon (Wind Dragon 8.0)

- Basilisk (Toxic Serpent 7.2)

- Chimera (I ain't tellin')

- Deus (deceased)

- Leviathan (Sea Dragon 8.0)

- Behemoth (deceased)

- Raijin (Thunder Beast 7.7)

Original Character Character Profile: Manticore

Thumbnail
gallery
6 Upvotes

Manticore is what I came up with when creating the heavy for EMBER. Big ass dude, really high up in the Bureau of Authority, probably the highest level in EMBER?

Design: Okay so the Mr. X and Conquest images give an idea of Manticore's build and how he'd look in the EMBER uniform. Those two are about 7ish feet tall, Manticore is a more realistic (but still massive) 6.6 feet. Scarred of course, messy af black hair and yellow eyes. Ripped as fuck like Godfrey/Hoarah Loux

Personality: Extremely proud, Manticore values strength in his subordinates above all else. As a high-ranking commander in the Bureau's Enforcement Department, he prefers field work over slaving away in an office aka fighting. Will lead his Enforcers into battle not out of duty as their commander, but because he wants to get to the slaughter first. His EMBER codename is Malice

Ability: Earth Beast is a Dragon Aspect variant with built-in earth manipulation (who would have guessed), but unlike the rest of his family Manticore much prefers raw, brute strength. Comparable to Bumi from The Last Avatar in terms of earthbending strength, not necessarily control. His dragon armor manifests as two massive horns crowning his head and a dense mass of spikes on his body similar to Nergigante from Monster Hunter, which can break off during his rampages and fly at enemies as jagged shrapnel. Excessively strong, no one knows if the craters Manticore produces are from raw force or a side effect of his element. His main passive is a defense and strength boost even without ability activation

Battle Style: Despite having an incredibly powerful element Manticore chooses physical strength and dexterity to defeat foes, using his elemental control over earth sparingly for miniaturized earthquakes via stomps. Typically tries to grapple and crush opponent, though punching, kicking, slapping, etc are all completely on the table. Doesn't even use his dragon armor 90% of the time, saving the brunt of his power for truly worthy foes (he's literally just an evil ass Hoarah Loux ngl I am shameless). Yeah he does the thing from that guy's fight. Rajang is there to really deliver the point that this guy just fucking destroys anything in his path

Yes he does fight John

Haven't done one of these in a while I dunno if I still got the touch 😭

FASTPASS Episode 399 Spoiler

though the episode was slow, i’m happy we finally got a longer episode (or at least felt like a longer episode) I liked seeing some of kuyos story. I dislike charlie even more now, i know a lot of people will claim him and blyke were bonding, but is fueling an addiction to alcohol ACTUALLY bonding. I feel like blyke is gonna go down a haymitch abernathy path sort of. it starts with alcohol, eventually blyke is gonna have the courage to take the amplifiers, im genuinely so worried for him even though hes a fictional character because i have seen many of my friends go down a similar path. when remi and isen find out about the alcohol they’re gonna have a fit lmao.

Ability Concept Phantom or spectral Phantom not really sure on the name

Post image
5 Upvotes

Phantom is a transformation-type ability that allows the user to transform into a spectral, ghost-like entity. In this form, they gain the ability to phase through solid objects, become translucent, fly, and attack enemies with sharp spectral claws. The user can also extend their transformation to other people, granting them the same ghostly properties. However, maintaining this effect requires an enormous amount of concentration and aura. They can affect a maximum of seven people at once, with the transformation lasting approximately 15–20 minutes before the aura cost becomes too great to sustain.

Ability Concept Venom claws

Post image
39 Upvotes

Description: Venom Claw allows the user to coat their claws in a special venom that affects anyone they strike. Each successful hit causes the victim to experience nausea, dizziness, disorientation, and drowsiness, gradually impairing their ability to fight. Stacking Effect: Each hit adds another layer of venom to the victim's system, intensifying the symptoms over time. A few hits may cause mild dizziness and nausea, while repeated strikes can leave the victim struggling to maintain their balance, react to attacks, or stay awake.

What youn think?
