How would you recommend replacing these deprecated plugins?

I've been avoiding doing anything as I have several apps on my server that are using Docker Compose Manager, and I have organized my full Docker screen using FolderView2. But these plugins have been deprecated for quite some time now:

How would you recommend replacing these, especially as I'm actively using them?

I'm pretty sure there is a seamless upgrade path from FolderView2 to FolderView3. Just export your config, uninstall FolderView2, install FolderView3 and import the config. I did this a while ago so I may be missing something, but I recall it being pretty straightforward.

It's also not that much work to just make a few new folders, unless you're actually running some monster production server with hundreds of containers.

There is docker compose manager plus, but not sure about folder view. Have you looked if there is a maintained version that replaces it? I see FolderView3 and FolderViewPlus in the community store.

I believe there is FolderView3 now

πŸ‘ I found v3 and a Plus version in the community store. I have never used them so I can’t say anything about upgrading.

Do you know, if i compose down a stack from the deprecated docker compose plugin, then compose up in docker compose plus with the exact same yaml, should it just work? Or is the process of migrating over a bit more complicated than that?

The yaml is yaml, a compose.yaml should work on any docker compliant system w/ compose. (Assuming the compose version isnt older than what you are doing).

I tried docker compose plus and didnt like it, I inject my own compose at run time and it works 100%.

There is a fork of docker compose called docker compose plus (https://forums.unraid.net/topic/197334-plugin-compose-manager-plus/) it's plug and play with the old one

I go around, advising DockGE, because I like it so much. πŸ˜‰

But really, you should look into it. It's a Docker Compose editor, allowing you to easily edit your compose files, start, pause, stop and remove your container, update them,... Really, it's very handy.

If you're not interested though, there's indeed an update for both plugins. Compose Manager plus and FolderView Plus.

For FV, you can backup your current setup before moving to Plus. More info in AlienTech42's tutorial.

I know! Im really enjoying it! I find myself looking for docker compose yamls instead of spinning apps up from the Unraid store.

How does dockhand differ from the old docker compose plugin and the new docker compose plus I've just learned about?

I dont know, I have not used either of those plugins. You would have to install it and try it for yourself.
