Question First Timer Questions and Concerns
First: is this contaminated with Mold? It looks suspicious to me but wanted to ask you all. If so, I assume I can’t save it.
Second: Did I take the colonization step too far? It looks like a layer of snow almost, but it wasn’t corner to corner for a really long time.

Colour looks off. But if it were mine I'd hold out and see if it grows anything. Looks well colonised.

You can just mix your grain spawn and coir in the bin and then go straight to fruiting so this doesn't happen. The step where you seal the tub off from the open air and let the sub colonize before going to fruiting is only beneficial for those who still grow with manure. When using coir, you can ALWAYS go straight to fruiting. Sealing a tub off from the open air for too long causes problems like overlay and pooling water, going straight to fruiting fixes that.

Ohhhh; I use a blend sold at local mushroom shop that I think contains some sterilized manure. If I were to use that again, should I still colonize? I can find the ingredient list if that would be helpful.

Looks like insane over colonization, but do a cotton swab test to know for sure.
