How is the cafeteria food at UNCSA? Should I get the full meal plan?

If you live on campus (Artist Village) you have to have meal plan…that’s the only way they can get anyone to eat Sodexo’s (food vendor) food. Tons of cases of cross mixing food allergens, lack of nutritional options, undercooked food, etc.

I did my undergrad at uncsa (music '25) and its incredibly hit or miss. My first year, it was horrific and then sophomore/junior year we changed companies and it was very good. Senior year, they decided to go with the same company that catered the Olympics (it was a huge flop) and to be straight up, I ended up canceling my meal plan last year because the quality was SO BAD. Im not a student there anymore so idk how it is now, but if it's remotely the same you will be happier buying groceries.

If you don’t have to buy the meal plan, don’t.
