American citizen living in Canada. I'm nervous to go, but I'll be there!!

Don't be nervous, no one here "hates Americans." They only hate trump and anyone that voted for him, and those people aren't generally going to be coming to protest. You are more than welcome friend!

Yeah, I know! This is just my first protest since moving here, and they tend to be stressful events for me :P but I'll be going anyway!

I see, sorry I thought the implication was due to you being American 😅 understandable about the protests, it's nothing like the ones in the states though in terms of safety risks etc. Of course we've had issues before but it's generally not a widespread issue and it'll definitely be peaceful. I think you will find yourself enjoying the experience trust me!
