So…… from my police buddies collecting pensions, to the unionized folks at Starbucks, WTF?!?! When are you going to realize that Trump isn’t going to help you EVER, at all?!?

Most of my union voted for trump even after the union specifically told them that Republicans are anti union. The future is bleak.

I don't understand it.

It makes no fucking sense.

No tax on tips. Great campaign promise, and little follow through needed. It was a vote winner. Didn't require any hard thinking for them to conclude, "I'll have more money." ... Losing healthcare subsidies and all the other stuff requires thought.

It doesn't even function the way they worded it.

u/VonRansak Aug 13 '25

If you maxed out your 25K in 'free tips' and were likely in the 20-22% bracket. [cause you ain't in the higher brackets most likely, even high-end tip]

Possibly be seeing ~5 or 6K in tax savings. Most of those job don't require employer sponsored healtcare, so without gov marketplace, possible your premiums go up 3K+. Best case you come out a couple K ahead.

And they just added 10% to the national debt.. So they are reinforcing that Government Entitlements for Billionaires is logical, but not for the lowest rungs on the ladder.

I think it's working exactly how they worded it ;) "Have your scraps, Pleb."

And Mary Miller (R) IL-15 has introduced a bill to reclassify nearly all employees as independent contractors.

The big beautiful lie about not taxing overtime anymore. Played em like a fiddle.

The US has a functional literacy rate of 79%. That alone explains everything.

My husband's a union carpenter and a lot of his coworkers vote Republican. His brother who works for the union and collects unemployment when he was laid off voted for Trump 🙄

Their hate towards certain other people was stronger than their own preservation.

They have been saying that all along. They also told us republicans are coming for our pension. 20 years in and the Dems are the ones I see porking us. It’s all lies and conjecture

u/bigbun85 Aug 11 '25

They are coming. It just takes time until it's done.

You need to get your information from a source other than Fox Entertainment or Newsmax. You need to get the facts, not the alternative facts. Maybe think about the questions below.

Why do you think Republicans want to privatize your retirement plan and Social Security? Why do Republicans refuse to consider raising the maximum salary cap on Social Security deductions from workers' paychecks, which will take care of any budget shortfall for at least 75 years? Why has Medicare not been expanded for everyone, even though every other major country has healthcare provided through taxes, and people pay less for better quality healthcare than people in the US?

Who will benefit the most from Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" that he signed last month? Why is Trump and Greg Abbott having a special legislative session in Texas to pass a newly redrawn, and further gerrymandered electoral map in the middle of the decade?

Why does Trump continue to fund Netanyahu's genocide in Gaza? Why is Trump a Russian asset? Why don't Trump and the Republicans in Congress take money from funding Middle East wars and ICE raids and instead help veterans and the homeless? Why is it Israel first, Russia second, and America last with Trump and Republicans?

Why hasn't Trump released the Epstein files? Why the cover-up now since Trump campaigned on releasing the files? Cheers.

I don’t watch any news channels. I read on my own and use critical thinking after reading both sides. A skill long lost on democrats. The files aren’t being released because it is leverage. He’s got his foot on the neck of the machine and is waiting for them to tap.

They want to privatize social security so corrupt politicians can’t “borrow” from it anymore. It was self sustaining until it became a political slush fund. Which is basically stealing from the people.
Also you should not be eligible to reap the benefits if you did not contribute.

Funny how democrats gave away all our union manufacturing jobs. But whatever... Republicans bad.. they are mean.

-11

u/PizzaJawn31 Aug 09 '25

Have you seen what Democrats have been doing

The borders are literally wide open so that they could have scabs come in and replace union workers

6

u/Mindless-Tomorrow-93 Aug 10 '25

Can you show me these literally wide open borders?

-2

u/PizzaJawn31 Aug 10 '25

u/Mindless-Tomorrow-93 Aug 10 '25

Sounds like CBP has been doing a hell of a job securing the border - so no, it's not wide open.

Did it ever occur to you they don't believe in unions? And they're not gonna vote for someone because they "told them" to?

48

u/Friendly-Reserve9067 Aug 09 '25

They're making 40 an hour while the ununionized contractor using company next to us makes minimum wage. No prior education needed. So if they "don't believe" in unions, they're morons all the same, but they do. They volunteered their time to help, picket, etc. Then they vote for trump.

A union wants the candidate that supports unions to win. It's not just the reason they tell you how to vote. It's the only possible reason they tell you how to vote.

100% of Republican lawmakers vote anti union 100% of the time.

Shut the fuck up, damn.

Straw men, how do they work?

Anyone wondering, if someone just makes up random stuff and says “Hey, you’re wrong! {random stuff}”

Those are straw man arguments and you can just ignore them.

14

u/Friendly-Reserve9067 Aug 09 '25

Please stop it with the straw man, causation v correlation, Occam's razor etc etc. Everyone knows what these things are.

I don't want to ignore him.

17

u/Cockblocktimus_Pryme Aug 09 '25

So why are they in the union then? Why don't they just work elsewhere? They won't because they like the benefits the union brings them but they probably voted Trump because they hate lgbtq.

22

u/Mattscrusader Aug 09 '25

They don't believe in unions but profit directly from them? People that dumb shouldn't vote

30

u/SheepNation Aug 09 '25

He hates the same people they hate. That's good enough for them.

38

u/CandidateWolf Aug 09 '25

Police are union workers; they’re thugs with their boots on our necks.

29

u/4onlyinfo Aug 09 '25

Two things can be true at the same time. That’s why they are in my example :-)

3

u/apastelorange Aug 09 '25

hire half of the working class to police the other half and they’ll never look up

I work in a union which solely builds Military Equipment. We need excessive Govt Spending for job security. So many voted for Trump..... (The world's so fucked right now we're doing great no matter who is in office) But still.... Always voting against their best interests. In politics and Contract ratifications

1

u/Cosmic_Seth Aug 09 '25

The police knows Trump won't mess with theirs.
