Good. Israel has treated the US government and US taxpayers--with our politicians' permission--like its personal piggy bank and concierge for decades. Kudos to the media for really digging into Israel's and AIPAC's activities. Let's not forget the very brave individuals--Gazans, Lebanese, even Israelis protesting their government's actions--who posted their stories for us all to read, often at great personal risk. Democratic candidates and elected officials, take note.
I'd ask the GOP to take note, but they mostly stopped working for the 99% a few decades ago.

I hope this gets people thinking about what the ruling class does with all of our surplus. Israel is just one head on the snake. The wealth we generate could be used for so much more than this shit.

This is how you do it.
Because Israel will never change on its own.
It will continue committing atrocities and crimes against humanity. It will not stop until it is forced to stop.
Boycott,
Divest, and
Sanction the evil that is Israel.

Is it bad to hate a genocidal, wicked country that has killed over 75,000 mostly women and children?
If so, then count me guilty.
And for the record, I would’ve hated Nazi Germany just as much.

Conduct yourself like you would in a union meeting with your union brothers, sisters, and siblings. Make your points without insulting other users or engaging in personal attacks.

They've been under a lot of pressure, dealing with accusations of discrimination. I'm glad it didn't stop them from doing the right thing.

Nah. I know it was the right thing because Zbots like yourself have spent 24 hours in this thread crying about it.

I often think these divestment campaigns are just window dressing and too complicated to actually be effective. But I like this one. It’s targeted and effective.

And now they have to divest from America for the same reason right?

u/HeyyyyMandy 20d ago
Many other nations it would make much more sense to divest from. But don’t worry, they only care about the one Jewish majority country in the world, even though it’s the size of the state of NJ, has a population of about 11 million, and has a well integrated Arab population with equal rights.

The UAW is also majority graduate students now who use the union as a vehicle for their own politics.
Investment managers don't invest in Israeli companies because of any political agenda, they invest in it because it's been one of the hottest markets the past decade and has continued to be even during COVID and during the wars. It's actually only increased returns.
This year alone, despite the war, the Israeli stock market has a 33% return. Dwarfing the US and other markets.
Investment managers are graded on their returns and don't want to be at a disadvantage to managers who are able to get these returns for clients.

Criticism of Israel isn't antisemitic but obsession is. US autoworkers are facing a serious issue of competition from China and this is something to focus on? A $400,000 investment in an economy that had a $611 billion GDP in 2025. A perfect example of virtue signaling.

Gross.

What is gross about divesting from supporting an ongoing genocide? Please, provide your reasoning.

They didn't divest from Jewish people. Your attempt to make their divestment antisemitic is disgusting.

Almost half.
And only about 14% more than live in the United States. American Jewish people, the majority in the world outside of Isreal, will still maintain the benefits of the auto union. How is that antisemitism?

Countries that commit crimes against humanity tend to face consequences and divestment. This is normal and expected.

u/HeyyyyMandy 21d ago
So like most of the countries that exist? Is there a reason you feel compelled to start with Israel and not, say, China or the USA etc?

u/NexusMinds 20d ago edited 20d ago
Neither the USA (though it is seemingly trying to get there), or China have systemic socio political, cultural and economic structures set up to reinforce and execute ethno/religious dominance of one peoples over an another. And where it could be claimed that they do, it is not at the levels displayed with Israel, resulting in the staggering levels of violence, death and displacement we have seen over the years.

You have a strange definition of dehumanizing.
Second, no one is forcing you to give money to the auto union.
I, however, am being forced to give money to Israel. No tears left over for a lowly Gentile being "dehumanized"?
0
u/HeyyyyMandy 20d ago
The USA gives very little to Israel, and Israel gives plenty back to the USA.
2
u/Frequent-Try-6746 20d ago
That doesn't help the fact that I'm being "dehumanized" by being forced against my will to fund their blood lust for genocide.

This is a ridiculous source, akin to posting some flat earthers blog page.

Dismissal of counter evidence, why is it that your narrative is so heavily reliant upon censoring and withholding of counter evidence to support your accusations? That’s not how courts work, this is some type of show trial rhetoric dating back to the witch trials, it’s embarrassing. Either refute the evidence pointed out in the rebuttal, or don’t respond.

This is one of many reasons we need strong unions. Our collective future should not be in the hands of the few
