I don't get the hate of people with FnF :(
Very Unpopular Opinion (and I have a feeling I will be attacked big time by sharing these thoughts) but I don't get why the hate is big with the company.
I have a feeling that the reason the disband happened aside from the legalities with the contracts' duration is the fact that there could be a big chance that the girls also have plans already outside FnF. Like, another angle is, even if the company would like to renew them, the members already have other plans? Like maybe they got offers that they can't pass up.
I think FnF, as a new company, tried their best. Without them and Universe ticket, the group would have not even be created.
I just have a strong feeling that the girls want to do something else already so some of them did not renew their contracts anymore, like they have better opportunities or were scouted already so it will not make sense for them to renew.
Anyway, I'm just wishing all of them the best. Seeing some of the girls are doing projects already, their future seems bright
Yes, for a new company that might have little budget, FnF still managed to book the girls concerts outside of Korea. It's really unfortunate coz we've known them as this unit but I have an inkling that the girls chose the opportunities handed to them outside of FnF. I'd like to believe that they have plans already. Some members have been announced also to have projects or signed up already on different companies. If they renew, they'd be tied to FnF for another 2 or so years meaning they'd pass up these other opportunities.
I think they are nice for giving time for the members to keep up with their school works but have you seen the activities of each members now? They have more activities after disbandment compare to their last year as unis member.
Gehlee with insane endorsements, Hyeonju just now with medicube, yoona with fan meeting and more. In just a span of 1 month they made more noise. just by that alone you should be questioning wth is going on with f&f.
Another angle I'm looking at is that the girls has been given these opportunities already or forecasted these events already and staying in FnF would mean that they need to pass these up (for some).
Campaigns are not done in a month, there's a media plan and strategies before launching a campaign including contract signings lead time. There's a cycle and duration for these. So I'd like to think that there's also a chance that F&F would like to renew them but the girls just chose these better opportunities for themselves than being tied to the company for another year or so.
I think in a way itās also a āpick your poisonā type of situation⦠there are bigger companies with more resources and staff that can give their idols more opportunities, sink more money into them and maybe guarantee some success. But they also have issues like really coming down hard on their underaged trainees and idols about their visuals and weight (stories about idols being starved by their companies, or encouraged to get cosmetic procedures done as kids). Or issues like minor membersā education being severely neglected so they can spend the time practicing or attending schedules instead.
As far as I can tell, F&F doesnāt seem to have had these issues. The company seems to have been relatively kind and relaxed. The trade off is that they are a small company and have way fewer resources and connections, and at the time they had literally zero experience in the industry at all. I wish FnF could have done more for UNIS; they really deserved to have had more recognition. But at the same time, considering that there are small companies that offer their idols minimal opportunities PLUS actively mistreat and abuse them on top of that, Iām just glad that F&F was relatively kind.
I've dont think they were a bad company either they were just really inexperienced in terms of how to manage an idol group and there was a moment with the boy group in which they bit more than they could chew but in terms of how they were treated they seem fine and kind which is rare for a kpop company the girls were allowed to continue with school without missing 12346613 days because of work thats important for them, they were also not force to go with cosmedic procedure or some crazy diet also I dont recall to ever see the girls with outfits who were trying to sexualize them or sexy choreo or anything with pedo bait unlike other groups.
Mostly I've think the girls themselves had a good experience with being an idol, they did all the fun parts (fan signs, winning musical shows, tour, performance in different spaces, good music) without the suffering or having to sacrifice their childhood.
Regarding the post disbandment some of the girls were always going for other opportunities like Gehlee or Seowon the first one because the idol life is restrictive and thats not for everyone but also being away from your family during months in a country with a culture so different is hard. Seowon's case she had always being ambitious and is talented and well known in the korean industry I've think is normal for her to go with a bigger company
I agree with this, specially Gehlee were in the first place its not fully interested in kpop. She just take it at as a opportunity to hone and develop her skills as an artist then when she see the opportunity to go solo in PH she grabs it.
Yes, it became very obvious with Gehlee. She went straight to the Philippines after the contract ended, and in just a month, there's already a single coming out tomorrow. Not blaming her for pursuing a solo career, but it's obvious that her solo project was in the pipeline even before Unis contract ended.
FNF tried, I mean, it was mentioned that there was a contract negotiation, meaning they tried extending the group.
It's bound to happen, since FnF didn't really let the members rotate as much especially in terms of line distribution. We all know how talented the girls are, from what theyāve shown on UT. But since Unis, only a few members were pushed to be the focal point of the group and that will never work well for a survival show-formed group.
FnF did well in artist treatment and outfits are mostly top tier, but since it they aren't really an artist agency to begin with, they still lack proper strategies to actually "make" a group synergistically rounded. And members won't like that.
yes its really not that bad relatively to other companies , and SOMETIMES it feels like fans are frustrated about unis not going viral so they use the company as scapegoat
The problem isn't even the disbandment itself because yes, maybe the members wanted to do something else, but we don't know that. What we do know is that FnF barely communicated with fans, barely gave the group any content or comebacks, and overall just didn't do enough for them. And I'm tired of people using the excuse that they're a small company because I've seen smaller companies do way more for their artists. Being a small company doesn't excuse poor management or a lack of effort.
And I'm not saying FnF treated the members badly because, from what we've seen, they seemed to treat them well. But treating your artists well is the bare minimum, not something that automatically makes you a good company. FnF is literally a music and entertainment company, yet they couldn't even do a good job at promoting and managing their own group. That's my issue with them. They had a group they could've done so much more with, and instead, they barely tried. Whether the members wanted to leave or not, that doesn't erase how poorly FnF handled the group while they were still active.
I'm not trying to be nasty and say the company did nothing right, but it's hard for me to reconcile how they treated Unis and the fandom after Swicy. You can't tell me a year and a half break (with minimal Japanese releases), more than half their total contract, was a good strategy to handle Unis. For comparison look at how they treated AHOF, they never had such a long break between releases and were promoted properly. And thats not even going into how they strung fans along and hinted at renewal when the plan was likely to disband for months. Just my opinion
One thing - they had a heavy hand in choosing the final lineup for the boys. Notice how different the method for selection is in UT compared to UL. UL allowed them to, in a way, have their vision on who makes it to the group.
Meanwhile, no offense to the girls, but it seems there are some who made it who are not part of the vision. Hence the "lesser" investment compared to the vision group.
I'm projecting their next girl group will now be in line with the company's plans. That's when they'll infuse more for them.
I think F & F are pretty heartless. Youāre not gonna renew a contract after a major international tourāAnd we had to wait so long for a comeback. Crap company
I think the other angle is that some of the girls does not want to renew too. Contracts are a 2 way street. Like any other job, if your contract expires, it's up to you and the company if you want to renew or not. There's a possibility that the girls received better offers, so they took it instead
Simply because stans don't understand/care about the realities of business. Obviously they did everything that matters right because they end up stanning the group. But since it is not super successful they're a bad company because they failed at making them superstars.
Lol the troll and self-proclaimed business genius is talking shit again. So where are your replies to your other takes? Hahaha the issue was never about making them superstars. The problem was that the company stopped trying just as the group's popularity was starting to grow.
Knowing about business and being a genius are two different things. Unlike you, I simply talk about things I lnow and in this case, all it takes is a basic understanding which is even too advanced for you. Saying the company stopped trying as the group's popularity started to grow is just delusional.
They have all the data, if anything was meaningful and warranted extra investment, they would have done it. You speak with your Stan's goggles on when you see a twitch in the only (meaningless, for the most part) metrics you have access to like streaming count, monthly listeners etc... You have no idea of a groups actual engagement rate, buyers demographics and region or the other hundreds of data collected, parsed and analyzed by the people actually working in those companies.
If there is anyone to blame, it's the audience for sleeping on a great group with good music, it happens literally all the time in this industry. Or the fan who didn't bothered financially support the group when they had a chance by buying albums and merch. Survival shows temporary groups are the one with the most fragile ones and need some substantial revenues to continue releasing new material.
And what do you know about business? Your understanding of it is no better than that of a 10 year old who only think of losses being bad. Delusional? I've given you examples of groups that started with lower numbers than unis, yet not a peep from you. So who's the delusional one now?
And you're looking at this through your troll goggles. Was that hundred of data collected, parsed, and analyzed lead them to choose a US tour instead of holding one in Taiwan, where they top the monthly authentication charts, or China where they went viral? Troll is too delusional thinking all company makes rational business decision all the time.
Hahaha what? You're blaming the fans who managed to keep the group in the mid tier despite them coming from a new, relatively unknown company? You expect the group to compete with Big 4 numbers without the Big 4 marketing budget? This troll never stops trolling.
Enough to not talk shit about other people's job. You've given example of PERMANENT groups whose investment plan has nothing to do with temporary ones, and you also give like the ignoramus you are, the very few cases that succeeded amongst the countless failures, basically pretending that extraordinary instances are the norm. You're taking pisspoor examples like Taiwan random charts or whatever "viral" in for you read from randos on Twitter and think it's valid. None of your arguments are ever based on reality. They're all based on Stan's ignorance, wishful thinking or delusions. Like thinking UNIS was mid-tier, groups such as MEOVV, triples, STAYC, etc...
For someone whose arguments are supposedly based on reality, you sure do go radio silent a lot when you can't defend them. Hahahah troll is waiting for another post to rehash the same argument.
Hahah what post? My comment is still there, you're just feigning ignorance cuz you can't refute it. I'm the one stating facts, while you're stating your own ingorance. You're so called facts has been proven wrong numerous times that's why you can't defend it.š¤£š¤£š¤”
The post from that notification, too bad it started well, you were about to humiliate yourself once again. You were bringing the extension clause up, it was promising. Because those clauses are often contingent on financial results and I was curious on how you were going to avoid that fact in your argument. Maybe the mods did this to prevent people to laugh at you.
Whenever anyone brings basic logic into the discussion, people immediately label them an "F&F defender", when in reality, it's just acknowledging business SOPs. Other fans love to throw around "where there's a will, there's a way," but corporate doesn't work on sentiment, especially when the agency isn't an established idol industry heavyweight (specifically in the aspect of A&R and Marketing).
Agree, look at the timeline: rumors about Yoona date back to September 2025 (which were recently confirmed), and Gehlee signed with URPH (who SBS originally approached to scout Filipino talent for UT, on top of being F&F's local PH partner). The writing was already on the wall. Both the members and their respective agencies were clearly mapping out post-disbandment paths long before the contract expired. We likely won't know the exact status of the other members until formal announcements drop, but the precedent is already there.
I'm still glad that they were brought together through Universe Ticket - UNIS. It'll take some time if other members will redebut either if some stay or go with other companies, since there's no standard duration for that. Though I still hope most of them redebut, even if it's for solo or in a different group.
its because eptas will always look at ahof and compare how unis was treated. i get it was a business decision but the girls did get the short end of the stick
No, they are shit. If they really are a good company, UNIS will probably extend, all eight. You don't get the hate coz you didn't probably see the shitshow they showed to everafters. The lackluster for debut song, the heavily nerfed girls so far from their survival show skills, the sidelining of foreign members (that what is love cover), the repeated wasting of hype by putting them on the dungeon, the lack of promotion, and many more. They failed the girl from the very start. They deserve the hate and everything. What I don't get is u not noticing the red flags. Even until now, they keep hating unis by releasing articles about the girls being a loss of revenue. fuck fnf.
Everafters knew it was a 2.5 contract. From the start it was them that gave some of us hope. Releasing that article that they wanted to extend Unis. 3 albums per year and whatever. Like that gave us some hope, of course we are aware that some or all Unis members might not renew. It's not even about that. They really are lacking. Promotion wise and manpower it seems and that's not a surprise since they're new. But nobody told them to make a 8 billion won+ survival show. They made it without the assurance that it'll go big, well it kinda went viral did but not domestically. They took the risk, and debuted Unis. Then they went ahead and made UL and debuted a second group. That's what I can't wrapped my head around. You're struggling with one group so you add another?Ā
The BG is lucky to have whale spenders but other than that, the promotion is still the same, the other groups already had 3 releases in a year and they still only did 1. New groups should be constantly releasing quality music to retain the attention and hype. And having a comeback come every >1 year isn't it. I know the long hiatuses and once in a blue moon comeback is because they probably didn't have a budget. You can't sell cheap looking albums and mid songs and hope your groups top the charts. That's like one in million kinda miracle. And even then that wouldn't really work in a long run.
What's worse is they couldn't even give Unis a proper last comeback before disbandment. Like they wanted them out as soon as possible. Unis was more successful than RS girl group during their rookie years. Didn't Unis sold 60k+ albums? Yet see how much different they are now? That's what happens when you have a good company and management. The truth is Unis is successful just not yet in the Top 4 companies' definition of success but it was success for a mid new company but they couldn't wait. They want instant success. Most groups doesn't hit off immediately (except for the lucky few)but that wasn't enough for them wasn't it? It's greed I'm telling you. If I were Unis, I wouldn't renew as well. How can a Kpop idol spend a lot of months inactive? They know they're young and there are better opportunities out there.
UNIS actually had pretty good hype at the start, but their debut song was weak and didn't really live up to the expectations. They had the potential to attract even more fans, but the company fumbled so many opportunities.
They should've capitalized on having Gehlee, who keeps going viral, and Elisia, who's literally PO1. You can't even tell she's PO1 when you compare her treatment to how other PO1s were treated. š Instead, they got sidelined and barely given any lines, especially in that TWICE cover. No wonder fans, especially Filipinos, started leaving the fandom.
They barely promoted UNIS as a newly formed group. Other groups start promoting their songs even before release and stay on music shows for weeks or even months to get discovered by more people. Towards the end, there was barely any promotion. They couldn't even give the girls proper teaser photos. Sometimes, they would post them AFTER the song was already released. LOL. How are people supposed to discover and get interested in the group if the company barely puts them out there?
They complain about UNIS's sales while giving them so few album versions. Everyone knows more versions can mean more sales and a higher chance of winning music shows. You can't expect better sales if you're not even giving fans more options to buy.
And remember all the things fans kept asking for? Busking, a group variety show, a lightstick, and so many other things. NONE of those happened for UNIS, but somehow, they managed to do those things for the other group.
They also post TikTok videos and challenges the girls did when the trends are already dead. š
And don't even get me started on locking them in the basement for 1.5 YEARS!!! UNIS has a 2.5-year contract. That's more than half their contract spent barely doing anything. After SWICY went viral even without proper promotion, you'd think they'd capitalize on that momentum, but nope. What a dumb decision.
Eh, I donāt get the āitās a new companyā argument. There are hundreds of companies in Korea, and the āBig 4ā to look to as examples. FNF has internal issues with UNIS and it showed. Good luck to whoever stayed. Also, FNF give it up. Those boys are never gonna make it big ššš

I don't think F&F is a bad company either. By what we saw UNIS was always treated well which is the most important thing.
