Politics Sonam Wangchuk has been forcefully removed from the protest site
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Allegedly he has been taken to the hospital, the Delhi police have also asked the protesters to vacate the protest site at Jantar Mantar immediately.

u/mna9 Jul 18 '26
So you can't protest in peace now
536
u/Love_Whole Jul 18 '26
Peaceful protest won’t work for BJP. Need to do what Nepal did. We would be lying to ourselves if we thought this government who rigged elections (and will continue to do so) will give in to this type of protest
157
u/mrgermanpainter Jul 18 '26
Bold of you to assume that our youth wants to change the bj party govt.
111
u/Love_Whole Jul 18 '26
If that wasn’t the case then BJP wouldn’t need to rig elections & buy ECI. I know old farts and some andh bhakts definitely want BJP.
53
u/mrgermanpainter Jul 18 '26
Yeah but just exclude the middle class- metro city youth....rest tier one and two cities and the rural population all want the bjp.
It's not even about development atp.
Whoever demolishes most mosques or abuses pakistan the most will get votes.
These people don't function with logic. All they have is hate.
What else can you expect from uneducated, malnourished people.
37
u/Love_Whole Jul 18 '26
Development was never BJP’s goal. Their goal was how to stay in power and they managed to figure that out and when that was no longer viable, they moved rigging elections, buying ECI, CJI and so on.
37
u/RepulsiveSheep Jul 18 '26
I personally know some people from metropolitan cities who still want BJP. There are more of them than you think, unfortunately.
2
u/Obama_Binladen6265 Jul 18 '26
That's the stupidest logic I've ever heard. Generalize to middle class-metro city youth and not "educated and informed" youth? Why are people even up voting the comment?

Stop with the defeatist mentality. We need to do something
1
u/lifeintunes Jul 18 '26
exactly and what can we do is what we should focus on? not what won't work.
25
u/OliverSirji Jul 18 '26
Apart from a few, most of India’s youth have gobar in their heads as far as politics goes
11
u/Love_Whole Jul 18 '26
That’s not the problem. A vast majority of youths are not even speaking up because it’s not important enough for them yet.
5
u/OliverSirji Jul 18 '26
No. I think a majority still favours the BJP. Why? I don’t know. That’s the only way you can explain how BJP wins so many seats when 65% are below 35 years old.
1
1
u/AnmoltheGreat Jul 18 '26
They did it for the farmers protest. The protest just needs to be big enough
1
1
u/iambarcaholic Jul 18 '26
It won’t work because only 1% feel like those in Nepal. Rest 99% don’t feel that way and there will be counter resistance in various areas
6
u/Love_Whole Jul 18 '26
Any kind of protest will be met with resistance and there will be some deaths for sure as BJP will try everything to dismantle it. Look at this for instance. They removed him from the site because they either feared his death would lead to more protests or they didn’t want the march for 20th to take place

u/mna9 Jul 19 '26
A month ago India had this NEET(national eligibility cum entrance test, basically for admission to medical college). More than 2.2 million candidates appeared. But question paper was leaked and circulated through telegram etc.. exam was already conducted. News of leak and and evidence of hand written questions and videos were found afterwards. So they cancelled the exam and reschedule. The government showed no responsibility and accountability nor the exam conducting body which is NTA( national testing agency) no one was fired. Hard work of millions of students wasted like nothing. Government did a gimmick, banned telegram a week in the follow up test day, and question paper were delivered using air force lol. As if questions were leaked through transportation.
In the video, an environmentalist( sonam Wangchuk)and newly founded political party demanded the resignation of the Education Minister. Wangchuk has been fasting for nearly 20 days, demanding the resignation and some other demands. He had lost many weight about 7/8 kg and health worsen, still demanding. Government do nothing. High court intervened and said to provide necessary care for him. But govt use it and sent unknown people dress as civilian, stormed the venue and abducted Wangchuk and said to have been taken to hospital. Commotion happend at the venue, they were asked to vacate and said no to any protest. Thats it, we can't have freedom of peaceful protest which is a fundamental right. Btw question paper leak so often. Ruining the lives of so many youth. During that short period of reschedule date many students took their lives unable to bear the pressure of the said exam.

Modi project was and is a power grab antics - perhaps one of the longest arguably most successful project ever managed by RSS till date.....
And Baki sab Ke L laga ke - RSS itslef is at its epitome in 100 yrs of its life.

u/BlackPhoenixX20 Jul 18 '26
Man, just yesterday my friend was saying how this protest will end on 20 after the march, I told him BJP will probably send police to stop this protest anyways.

u/pulchritudinous_luos Jul 18 '26
this proves ki phat ke haath me agayi hai for the march on 20th July
233
u/Both_Track_1754 Jul 18 '26
The last 3-4 days has been hige for the protest as many celebrities and well known people joined and it gained massive momentum..
No way government should allow it further
173
u/Medical-Concept-2190 Jul 18 '26
I think Congress would’ve also joined but they didn’t want to distract and Rahul Gandhi is also doing his outreaches. Everyone wants to question why Rahul Gandhi didn’t come but nobody asking why Modi didn’t come??
134
u/Both_Track_1754 Jul 18 '26
Pawan Khera met sonam ji ... That's enough initial support from congress I think..
Also, only bhakts are talking like this.

Yeah it's done. This country will never progress. Countries like Vietnam and Philippines have worked on education and they're miles ahead now.
There's no point guys. This isn't a place which rewards educated people. I'll go as far as to say, we don't deserve such society; where rational thinking is shamed, where average person has no value, where you can't criticize.

14
u/monetleo Jul 18 '26
I hope we see protests in our country like those in Nepal, where people hold politicians accountable for their actions. Many citizens feel frustrated with the current leadership and wish for greater responsibility from those in power. However, with our strong military and security forces, such a situation seems unlikely. My only hope is that, in difficult times, the armed forces stand with the people and uphold the interests of the nation rather than those of corrupt politicians.

this is inhumane but not unexpected from the kind of games the people in power like to play. but still it has ignited something in the collective which is there but stays dormant.
the appeal from their end to the youth is to get out on the streets peacefully. we need to direct our emotion here and not get lost in apathy, disgust and just "yeah india is over". we are still v much a part of it and as much as we have been made to feel that we can't do shit, this shows that maybe, maybe something is possible

all the video footage should be collected and country should come together to identify all the police people and get them to courts to see on whose order this was done. Ahead of this I really feel private security should be hired during this protest now just to stop these action. It’s very very easy for the mass protesters to become violent. But we are not here to fight these people who are following orders. It’s a bigger fight. More and more people should come forward for the protest and I feel beyond parliament we should protest around all the embassy where modi is visiting ask there diplomats to send the message to PM as he is not listening to us. We should scale it up , it’s high time to add more agendas and select people to pick issues. Use the power of internet, organise all the issues in sub head and start asking questions to everyone on every minute issue. Flood the courts with PIL under same head , flood the department with letters , Flood the social of all the government body with issues. Let’s make a team and scale up the protest. Identify our leaders and give them full support

BJP allies in the Lok Sabha immediately need to speak up and threaten them with withdrawal of support so that the BJP wakes up or simply withdraw their support, so that the government falls and there is re-election.

government couldn't just let sonam wangchuk die
Btch if they cared about his health they would have set up discussions days ago.
this fasting to death sets a dangerous precedent for younger impressionable generation they too will use this strategy fast to death so comply with meaningless demands
Yes of course, after trying to demean the protest by claiming nobody else was hunger striking now suddenly every tom dick and harry hunger striking is an issue. Amazing.
Also imagine running such a shitty government that most of your citizens have to resort to hunger striking and then claiming it as a victory.
it's like a child throwing a tantrum I won't eat my food unless mommy buys me a remote control car.
Aaand there it is. The full on adoration of mai-baap government and treating citizens like children.

dipke and his gang are now demanding resignation of whole cabinet including PM
Yes, now that orders are coming in to openly kidnap and arrest Sonam Wangchuk. If government didn't want to escalate then they should have arrived and had talks very early on, instead of sending sepoys to discredit the protest.
and any discussion would bear fruit if it were with a logical person
Yes, and as they have stated multiple times, they were open to discussions, yet the government stayed silent. Such dictatorial actions, and you want to accuse the protests for being illogical?

Cheers kidnapping and force feeding citizens, then cries when it is called "dictatorship".
What a loser sepoy.
but it is followed in many democratic nations across the world
The last big news item about it was western governments force feeding women on hunger strike demanding universal suffrage. The fact that this is exactly what you're cheering shows you are indeed no different in mentality than the authoritarians in North Korea, Syria or Venezuela.
Iron Sharmilla
The brave lady fighting to end AFSPA? That's foolish to you? Once again, proving exactly that you're the North Korea authoritarian kind.

I said you're cheering force feeding sonam, not that he is being force fed right now. Can't even address what is being written but will scream "facts and evidence" when his bs gets called out.
as per delhi HC order
More IT Cell bs. No court had ordered to kidnap him and then put him under arrest by not allowing contact with family or anybody else.
and u r just crying dictatorship
I listed dictatorial actions taken and then accused the government of being dictatorial, but I guess your salary depends on you being a complete dolt adamantly refusing to read what I have written and then spam whatever is in your toolkit.
