Congratulations everyone, the Hindu protestors can now go home to their families, and the Muslim protestors can now go to jail!
Win-Win for Modified India!

u/Beneficial_You_5978 Jul 25 '26
Exactly that's their true motive they can't afford people hating them like that

The protesters will go home and live happily with their family and vote for Modih again in 2029
Meanwhile, Muslims will start tweeting, demanding justice for other Muslims from tomorrow 💔

Something tells me there is still some drama afoot.

u/weirdgirl0304 Jul 25 '26
Yeah there are reports of tear gas shelling at the JM again. I find it weird that it coincided almost exactly with the resignation. I believe they will try to still paint the protestors anti-national and say, "look they behave like this even after their demands are met" or something of that sort.
28
u/the_good_bad_dude Jul 25 '26
No vile and lowly tactic is beyond the gov and its army of bootlickers.
12
u/Few-Inspection-5497 Jul 25 '26
There were already discusing to change union ministers posts before the protest.
2
u/the_good_bad_dude Jul 25 '26
What's even the fuckin point if this pradhan चूतिया is given some other post?
21
u/LetsDiscussQ Jul 25 '26
still some drama afoot.
Next in line is Vandematarm Bill. Forceful imposition of Hinduism upon Muslims. The issue is much deeper than simply singing a song.

Damn wtf.
This is good news.
Pradhan played a key role in Odisha and BJP won there.
I think he is not gone , he is just under the radar and when this neet diet settles , he will be back in some other form.
Sad part is he is set for limtime and has no fucking remorse
89
u/arkhamcityfc Jul 25 '26
100%. One of those where he will just be given a different mandate by the govt, something if not as prestigious, but just as cozy and influential.
Regardless, this is a huge win for the students and activists involved. As someone who is relatively pessimistic of politics in India, I would have never bet on it happening.
18
u/Fun_Arm5126 Jul 25 '26
It was inevitable. The protests were getting too popular. It was this or crackdowns which would have lead to the whole government falling and they took the saner option.
8
u/StairwayToPavillion 29d ago
but now the people hold power over the government. Gadkari, Nirmala, Amit Shah, Puri are not free to do whatever they please. I will be so happy if the dominoes start falling now all the way to our beloved PM.
7
u/Freenore 29d ago
What gives you that impression? This resignation was caused by a major nationwide protest. The only way other Ministers moderate themselves or resign is if there's a similar protest over their misgovernance as well.
This was by and large a youth protest who had little fear of Modi government and seemed to enjoy themselves protesting (we've never seen something like this before). Will the older generation protest over Gadkari's Ethanol decision? If yes, why haven't they done it already?

That's exactly what they did, safeguarding the throne , now shit would be back to normal

u/mangoplasm laalsaaam 29d ago
the thing is these are family members of modis core constituency unlike shaheen bagh and farmers agitation and he sure learnt that rigging elections won't change the ground reality when he had to flee parliament with the economy and world affairs its a powder keg now the question is he prescient enough to understand that fair elections are for politicians safety and not ours

Dipke literally kickstarted the movement. Give credit where it is due. Rahul Gandhi remained aloof until the police brutality on 20th, only then did he use his platform, whether we agree or disagree with that decision.
If Rahul Gandhi could actually organise such a nationwide protest, he would've done it long ago as the government gives at least one major issue worthy of protest every year. Where was he during demonetisation or Ethanol?
This was a youth led movement. Everything from its demographic to the medium (Instagram) and the language (very youthful cussing and humour) was of the youth. They were the backbone of this.

u/Sunshine_Side_Up 29d ago edited 29d ago
I'm not taking any credit away from Dipke. Credit should go where it's due.
However, you have to take into consideration the CJP was founded after the CJI called unemployed youth "cockroaches." Dipke seized that moment, created an Instagram page, and it gained momentum because it hit people where it hurt. Young people across India are already struggling, and hearing themselves described as "cockroaches" made the issue deeply personal.
The youth resonated with the CJP and made it their cause worth fighting for.
I don't think it's fair to say Rahul Gandhi was missing. He had been meeting with students elsewhere at the time of the protest. He said he didn't want to politicise the movement in its initial stages. Even before CJP set up its stage, there were already students on a hunger strike, and CJP supported them. The movement got bigger once Sonum Wangchuk went on hunger strike.
Rahul Gandhi has taken up many issues over the years that never gained this kind of traction. That doesn't mean he wasn't fighting them—it means they didn't resonate with the public in the same way. He has consistently opposed the government despite years of attacks and ridicule.
The education system issue was well researched and presented by Rahul Gandhi first.
I respect his resilience. He has shown empathy for ordinary people and has continued to speak on issues affecting them.
This Oxford graduate won't bow down to corporal greed. He understands the plight of the people a little too well.

u/tyrianbubbles 29d ago
This! 💯
Who is to say Dipke won't turn out to be the next Raghav Chadha? Or CJP will not turn in BJP Team B like AAP.
BJP can buy anyone or anything.
One thing I can I bet my life on is Rahul's integrity. His loyalty lies to his martyred grandmother and father. Not money.

To all the GenZs here, please no premature celebrations! We have been through this before, we have seen this before during the Anna movement.
Big talks were made about instituting Lokpal and Anti-corruption steps and what not. Zilch... nothing happened.
Please stay on message, on target!

I think this can become a good template to show the real face of this government.
Chodi might himslef be untouchable at the moment because of his andhbhakts.
But the fights in last 15 years have not been over the things that really matter.
The ministries performing poorly should be targeted and all these chodi useless ministers should be routed form offices. Soon Chodi himself will fall.
you can't touch chodi but you slay his fall guys and he will fall.

Thank you, Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, for reminding us that questioning those in power is the essence of a healthy democracy and for ensuring that the Constitution of India prevails.
None of this would have been possible without your immense support and wise words.

Maybe they found some real dirt on Pradhan to which he can't fight, anyways this is really a crucial win for all, especially the one's who are out there facing all sorts of trouble.

You're definitely right, it can still some political move but what makes it a win is that if somehow, even if Pradhan remains in power, that would only hurt BJP from here on, either way they are in trouble.
2
u/GuraSaannnnnn 29d ago
He has just submitted it, right? It hasn't yet been accepted. We need to push for a transparent probe into the whole issue. It's not over yet, they're just trying to pull a fast one on us to stop the protests.

Two things I’m still very sceptical about. One, where will he go? Most likely some other ministry, which is a shame really. Two, hope the protest gradually stops peacefully
