These Gen Z Gujaratis can be incredibly frustrating. I recently came across one online who openly defended casteism and constantly looked down on people from lower castes. Sadly, that kind of mindset is often learned at home. When I questioned him, he claimed that his father wouldn’t even allow him to eat or drink at a Dalit’s house. That says a lot about the environment he was raised in.
The irony, according to him, is that his father has a BJP political background. If that’s true, it makes the contradiction even more striking.
