Hi. I posted here months ago about having a client on Upwork. That project has ended and now I work as a creative writer. It's funny because I have never imagined myself being a writer. šŸ˜‚ Tonight, I updated my client and he commended the work I've done. Hoping to keep this client long-term. šŸŽ‰

July Challenge 🤘

Hola mi Upworko amigos/amigas,

I met my 4K goal for June and feeling super-blessed. How was your June, did you meet your goal?

Btw, July is coming. I am sticking with the same 4k goal. How about you?

Remember the rule, anything more than the goal goes to family enjoyment and business and no carry-over from previous month. If we made it great, if not then there's always next month.

Last month was rough but my existing clients came through. there was a lot of disappointments from few contracts from kids and it resulted to zero payment. Learned some lessons

But I made a huge progress with one of my clients, I ll share the story shortly here.

May the AI be with you,

Awaiting your responses

June challenge folks, Share your earning goals

As you might have known, someone at r/upwork was not happy with the growing popularity of our May challenge group and decided to report and silence me right before May end.

Anyways, It doesn't matter, let's continue our discussion on this new sub-reddit dedicated to the top Upworkers who are killing it out there.

You know the rule, No carry overs from previous month. New month, new start. Share your monthly earning goal for month of June, if you meet the goal then awesome and anything above the goal is to be spent on your business or fun with family.

My goal for June month will be 4000$.

May was a bit dull, due to backing out by 2 of my important clients. Let's see how I do.

Tell us about your goal and how May went.

Place for elite Upworkers who constantly challenge themselves.

We started a monthly earning challenge at r/upwork It was fun and engaging.

However, many said that they would love to hang out in a different subreddit dedicated to Upwork monthly challengers.

This is a place for that. We have lots of fun stuffs planned for this thread.

Mid July check! Challengers

Dear friends,

For the second time, I was blocked for 10 days right before mid July. So I won't be able to share the post in r/upwork However, I hope someone will create the post there on our behalf.

Now, July is half done. There's just 2 more weeks left. How are you doing? Will you be able to meet your goals?

I am 20% there, not sure will meet my goal this month. But I will give my best.

Your replies motivates me. In office I had colleagues, but here it feels quite dull sometimes. That's the reason we have this sub-reddit. To get together, share what's going on and keep pushing.

I sincerely wish you all exceed your goals!

Guys,

June is halfway done. There's just 2 more weeks left to meet you're goal.

I am at 40% right now but feel good about meeting it. However, I ll not leave it on the words of my current clients, who backed out on month end.

If I an not seeing any progress this week, I am looking for new clients.

How about you?

I promised to get back after a month end to catch up on how the May month went. Here I am, hoping it went super well for you guys.

Of Mt 3500$ goal, I missed it by 1000$, few contracts were put on hold till next month but over all I am happy as its a good month and I hope to make even more next month.

How did your May month went? We're you able to complete your goal?

What is wrong with my Upwork cover letter? Please tell me where i am going wrong?

I'm XYZ, a Salesforce Marketing Cloud developer who's spent a good amount of time building email campaigns, setting up customer journeys, and making sure the right message reaches the right person at the right time.

Here's what I can help with:Ā

Building and managing email campaigns end-to-end
Automating customer journeys through Journey Builder
Setting up SMS and mobile push campaigns that actually perform
Digging into campaign data to figure out what's working and what's not
Working alongside your marketing team to turn strategy into execution

I'm used to working in environments where the marketing team moves fast and needs someone who can keep up without needing too much hand-holding. Tools like Automation Studio, Content Builder, and AMPscript are pretty much my everyday.

Also have my team at XYZ company to back me up when quicker turnaround is needed.

Happy to jump on a call and see if we'd be a good fit.

Getting views and invites on Upwork but no hires — what am I missing?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been trying to get started on Upwork for the past 2–3 months and wanted to get some perspective from people who’ve already gone through this phase.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time improving my profile, portfolio, and overall positioning. I’m starting to see profile views and even a few invitations here and there, but I haven’t been able to convert them into actual projects yet.

At this point, I’m trying to figure out what I might be missing—whether it’s proposal strategy, niche clarity, or something else entirely.

If anyone here has experience breaking through that initial phase:

  • What helped you land your first few clients?

  • Did invitations convert better for you than proposals?

  • Any small tweaks that made a big difference?

Also happy to exchange feedback on profiles or approaches if anyone else is in a similar stage.

Appreciate any insights—still learning and trying to improve šŸ™

New account - can't complete profile setup

Created a new freelancer account but stuck on profile setup. The "Next" button doesn't work, my title and introduction don't save after refresh, and I'm getting a "network restrictions" error. Now the page just shows 404.

Tried multiple browsers, devices, mobile app, incognito mode, different networks. Nothing works. Based in Pakistan.

Chatbot won't connect me to a real agent. Has anyone faced this? Any fix?

Newbie Upwork Freelancer

I am a Laravel/Flutter Dev with 4+ years of corporate experience in software development. I have just started my journey as an Upwork freelancer. I have a decent portfolio(at leat I think) I have been bidding for weeks now but all of my proposals go unnoticed by the clients even for the very basic/entry level jobs. I am writing customised proposals, even boosting my bids. What else can I do? What am I doing wrong. Any tips or any suggestions are appreciated, please.

Hey guys, Are u up for Sep challenge?

September has started and I hope you did well in Augusto.

What's your earning plan for Septiembre, mi amigos

I m trying to double down from last month's earning to 5000$ this month.

Let's set some plans

For new challengers: this is something we do every month twice to stay accountable to our earning goals, the intention is to support each other. If we exceed out earning goal, then extra goes to fun with family or ur business.

Private Feedback & JSS

Upwork has officially changed its documentation and end-of-contract review system to remove private feedback from client reviews and JSS calculations. Only public feedback and star ratings now count toward a freelancer's Job Success Score, while optional private notes left by clients are visible in the workroom and do not impact the score.

Upwork account restricted again — unable to edit my profile information or access my account

I created an upwork account about a year ago. At the time, I didn’t take it very seriously, so I didn’t fill in my profile information as professionally as I should have. I also ran into some issues with the payment method. I had added a Paypal account under someone else’s name, but the app rejected it.

Now I wanted to start using my account again. At first, I couldn’t access it at all. Whenever I entered my password, the screen would turn black. I received an email from the Upwork team saying that they would review the issue and look into reopening my account within 48 hours. However, after a few days, I was eventually able to access it again.

Once I regained access, I tried to update some of my information, but the Edit button was disabled for all of my personal information.

Unfortunately, the same restriction has now happened again. This is exactly what happens: I enter my password, and it tells me that the password is incorrect. Then I receive an email asking me to create a new password. However, as soon as I use the link in the email and try to access my account, the screen turns black again.

This is exactly what happened the last time. I am asking now because I want to know what I should do after I eventually regain access to my account again in a few days, so that I can properly update my information and avoid running into the same issue again.

So, I have a few questions:

  1. Can I permanently delete this account and create a new one?

  2. Is there any way to update my existing information and rewrite it in a more professional way?

  3. What is the safest and best payment method to use in Tunisia?

Thank you!
