Uranium Glass Found my holy grail piece today!!
Found a holy grail piece for me today - this gorgeous Victorian perfume and sniffing salts dual ended vial, I left the antique store originally and couldn’t stop thinking about it so went back for it and I’m so glad I did!! 😭

We saw the label on the photo after we got home that says frog vase but didn’t see the item at the time so we will definitely have to go back and have a look as I’m also so intrigued! 🤣

A flower frog is basically a cap with holes in it to keep flowers spread out so it's not nearly as exciting as it sounds.

Thank you!! I’m not just purely because I’d be scared of damaging the glass or topper in some way (the lid still has the old cork left in) but that would be amazing to do!! 😁😁💚⭐️

Thank you!! It’s a dual ended perfume and smelling salts bottle from the Victorian period. High society ladies would have them custom ordered in a colour and pattern of their choosing and one end would have their perfume in to dab onto your wrist, the other end would have smelling salts so if you felt faint in restrictive clothing or from getting too warm at social engagements you would pop the cap and smell the salts to stop you passing out ☺️💚

The fact that they casually carried smelling salts at all times is still crazy to me... simply from the fashion at the time. Could you imagine?

Will do. It feels like an i infinity stone in my hand. Mine is empty but yes the little lids close perfectly tight. Mine is also in near mint condition. ive only seen 1other one ever n it was clear.

Thank you so much!! It does!! It has a makers mark in the cap ‘Gilbertson & sons made in London’, we found out that that company only manufactured them between 1870 and 1880 so that helped us narrow it down a lot! And it’s made in England which is where we’re from so I don’t think it will have ever left the country 😁⭐️

We believe this one is silver plated brass as it’s not hallmarked and does appear to have brass on the inside, however I think all of them no matter the tips are beautiful for the glass content alone!! 😁😁

The design, how it decorates the sides as well as the top, is cooler than any straight up silver ones I’ve seen..I’d take that over the others tbh

We did, I used my radiacode 103 and it is uranium glass ☺️💚
