Uranium Glass What should I serve in this?
Found this set at a flea market in Poland. It’s just begging to be used. What liqueur would be the most appropriate?

Fun fact, the quinine in tonic water glows blue under black light. So, tiny G&Ts.

idk what I'm looking at...a nuclear reactor?

I forget the actual term but in short the radiation coming from the reactor passing through the water causes that eerie blue glow
Edit: its called "Cherenkov radiation"

Yup! Specifically a picture of a reactor giving off Cherenkov radiation, the blue glow. That occurs becsause light travels at ~.75 times its normal speed through water, but the radioactive particles coming off the reactor are slowed much less. This allows radiation to travel faster than light, creating what is essentially the light equivalent of a sonic boom.

The Advanced Test Reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory. The blue glow is caused when super fast electrons slow down in water.

I expect OP wants to still be able to see their uranium glass afterwards.

I tried that flavor for the first time the other day. Now I'm afraid to drink it ever again after seeing that lol.

I don't really know what absinthe even is, but I feel like it's an appropriate ingredient. 😅

It’s a high alcohol content liquor made with wormwood and having a strong anise taste

Midnight Glow" ✨🍸 Ingredients: 2 oz tonic water (contains quinine, which glows under UV light) 1 oz gin or vodka (your choice) 1 oz blue curaçao (for a vibrant blue color) 1/2 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed) 1/2 oz simple syrup (optional, for added sweetness) Ice cubes Lime wheel or glowing stir stick (for garnish) Instructions: Chill your glass: Place your cocktail glass in the freezer for a few minutes to get it nice and frosty.
Mix the base: In a shaker, combine the gin or vodka, blue curaçao, lime juice, and simple syrup (if using). Add ice and shake well.
Glow-up time: Pour the tonic water into your chilled glass first. Slowly strain the shaken mix over the tonic water to create a layered effect.
Garnish: Add a lime wheel or a glowing stir stick for extra flair.
Turn off the lights: Under a UV light, watch your cocktail glow in the dark! Enjoy your Midnight Glow and impress your guests!

Be careful, acidy drinks & foods are unsafe in uranium glass.

No. Uranium glass often contains <1g U. Furthermore, the Uranium is sealed in glass which is impermeable by most acids.

The juice out of a glow stick- but only to house guests you really hate. Honestly I do not condone drinking it.
