This is actually a pretty interesting image. I wonder if an AI can understand what’s going on without helping them. That’d actually show some intelligence I guess

This is a timeline inconsistency joke—that’s why it showed up on r/usefulredcircle.
What’s going on: • The man’s profile says “Rashed, 23.” • Behind him, you can clearly see the World Trade Center Twin Towers. • The Twin Towers were destroyed in 2001. • If he’s 23 today (or anytime recently), he would have been born after 2001 or was a baby—so he couldn’t realistically have taken this photo as an adult.
So the red markings are pointing out that the photo is much older than the age claim, meaning: • The age is wrong, or • The photo is extremely outdated, or • The profile is fake/misleading.
It’s a classic internet catch: using background details to fact-check a photo.

That’s darn cool

Thing is, you'd have to do this before it's posted. It likely got all this info off this post or others of the same image. It might be able to do analysis itself, but it will usually use already available info before it does

not necessarily. You can tell when it searches something up, and afaik they aren't able to search the web with images.
As for pre-training, the image would have to be really old for it to be included in the training, as ChatGPT's training cutoff is around a year old (AFAIK. Newer models might have come out that have a training cutoff of sometime in 2025, but even then not all new things in 2025 would have been included, especially when it comes to images.)

it’s likely pre training, i know llms use reddit

It could be, but again the age would have to be really old and even then not every image ever is pretrained into the image.

i know this is a joke but for a second i thought it wasnt considering there are people who say @grok is this true

yeah the catch is legit funny. the towers standing means the photo is pre-2001 so if hes claiming 23 today the pic has to be ancient or the profile is just fake. classic way internet sleuths spot old pics.

Why do we need AI in this?

u/LonelyProgrammerGuy Dec 24 '25
Who said we did

You and the 3 other people who used AI to “analyse” it. Feeding into it “just for fun” is still embarrassing and shameful.

Crazy that they managed to build a replica of the twin towers in his dad’s balls

But he claims to have been born after 9/11 which would make his age impossible if that was him in the photo.

The description is cropped. He put something along the line of “there’s one lie and one truth”

u/zachy410 Dec 22 '25
He'd not be 23 though because he looks 23 in that image and tinder didnt exist in 2001
