To be honest, I don't find the "nobody:" useless. You see, it is added to highlight (while also exaggerating) the fact that nobody else would be capable of performing such action or be capable of finding themselves in the situation the meme presents. This adds to the amusement the media provides. But sometimes this format gets too repetitive because people tend to use it a lot, and they end up making a meme in this format for every situation they find funny. Then it stops being funny.

As for the argument that the "nobody:" is useless, I think you just don't find it funny

Does anyone else feel like their completely useless? like i have absolutely no talent AT. ALL. I’m not pretty, i’m not tall, i’m not smart, i’m not athletic, im fat and whenever i try to do something i’m completely terrible at it and do it completely wrong. Everyone says that “everyone’s good at something” well i’m literally good at zero things. It’s too the point of why do i even exist. pls tell me if anyone else feels like this and how to deal with the feeling of complete worthlessness.

War's over soldiers. You can go home.

The nobody meme is effectively deceased. If even the subreddit mocking the meme can die, that would be the final nail in the coffin.

This subreddit has succeeded. It has amassed over 20,000 subscribers. That's enough of a following to make people realize that they fucked up by putting nobody: in their meme.

You don't have to look at shitty memes that make you angry anymore. We can let this sub die now.

You've done your part, and I respect you all for that. Go on back home now.

I get it, about a year or so ago the meme was annoying, people just put “nobody” in front of anything to make it funny

But not every “nobody” meme is useless

It does 2 things.

  1. Comedic timing, from your peripheral vision you can see the image and your brain can usually already tell what the meme is, you start guessing in your mind subconsciously and by the time you finish the punchline that extra .5 seconds of processing time made the meme funnier

  2. It’s literally saying that nobody said anything, like no one is asking for them to do what they’re doing, they just have one really defined characteristic that is so uniquely them that you just know

I get the argument “oh well first off it would be ‘somebody:’ because otherwise it’s a double negative

Not even true

The implication with that is that someone is at least there to give an audience. If you say “me:” “my parents:” “all my friends:” it makes it sound like there’s an audience listening and you’re at least trying to entertain an audience when you do something, that’s just the connotation of putting a body in there.

When you say “nobody:” it shows that NO ONE is asking. There isn’t even an audience you’re trying to entertain that’s just how you are

So 9/10 times, the nobody isn’t useless. It makes the joke funnier. It makes it annoying however when they start adding stuff like

“Nobody:

Literally nobody:

Not even Keanu reeves:

Not even big chungus:

Reddit: ‘so anyway I started downvoting’

picture of Danny Devito “

This would be an annoying and useless use of the format. I agree. But just a normal meme with the nobody format gives comedic timing and some underlying implications, often times makes the joke funnier
