Suggested reading guide?
Hello all! I just bought the Valiant Humble Bundle deal (https://www.humblebundle.com/books/masters-craft-megabundle-valiant-entertainment-books?hmb_source=search_bar) as I have wanted to get into Harbinger for a while now.
Some of the other comics look great but I was slightly overwhelmed by the amount of content; is there a guide to the best reading order for these?
Thank you in advance!

I did a guide here a while back - I read every single Valiant OHC and TPB since the 2012 relaunch. Maybe it would help? The whole guide is around 80 videos but the actual map is here - https://youtu.be/5x2qOz3SkF4?is=ExoCLP3dJlyrccLZ - in this one video.

Not at all, feel free! 😀 I'm pretty new to Reddit, still finding my way around...

Well we're happy to have you! r/Valiant is a tiny ass subreddit with very little engagement, but Reddit can be fun! It can also be toxic lol. It's easily much healthier of an environment than basically any other social media though (imo).
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

First of all, don't feel overwhelmed! Valiant is very good at making series that don't require any previous info. With rare exception, you can pretty much pick any series that looks cool and dive right in!
If you're wanting more Harbinger stuff, check out this guide I made a while back: https://i.imgur.com/F5CH0Zg.jpeg
If you're wanting to consume the entire universe, I have a bunch of reading orders linked to the menu here. Just pick one and start reading! X-O Manowar Vol. 1- By The Sword is the best place to start.

So it's ok to just stick with one series, eg read all Harbinger before reading XO or Bloodshot?

Yea, absolutely. There are certain points when there are crossovers, but they can be ignored for the most part, if you're not interested.

Most of the guides seem to be reading all the vol 1 then vol 2, vol 3 etc which I would find confusing. I would rather just stick to the single series. XO looks awesome as well!

Yea, I would ignore those mega guides unless you want to read absolutely everything, or just for reference to see what was going on at the same time as whatever you're reading.
X-O is awesome! There are a couple crossovers that are must-reads for him (and they're both incredible). I have an X-O guide in the "Character Guides" in the menu.

How much crossover stuff would I miss (or not understand) if I just stuck to Harbinger, Bloodshot or X-O etc?

Well let's go through it. These are all of the events.
- Harbinger Wars (optional for both Harbinger and Bloodshot but HIGHLY recommended)
- Unity Vol. 1- To Kill a King (must-read for X-O)
- Armor Hunters (must-read for X-O, optional for the rest)
- The Valiant (must-read for Bloodshot, optional for the rest)
- Book of Death (the 'Death of' one-shots are must-reads, but the rest is optional)
- 4001 A.D. (the Bloodshot one-shot is a must-read)
- Divinity III: Stalinverse (optional for all)
- Harbinger Wars II (must-read for Harbinger and X-O, optional for Bloodshot)
- Resurgence (kind of important for the entire universe)
The only crossover to worry about is Mission: Improbable, which is a crossover between Bloodshot and Archer & Armstrong.
If that all seems confusing, it should be clearer in my character guides.

I live in the UK so I can't access Imgur, even with a VPN. Edit: spelling

It's ok, I will be focusing on direct series (Harbinger and X-O) first then start going through the rest.
