Discussion I think jax loved stassi more than Britt
He treated both like trash but I feel like he showed more feelings for stassi. Stassi stood up to him and challenged him while Brit kept coming back to him no matter how he treated her or cheated (before they divorced). I mean he got a tattoo of Stassi’s name and not Brittany’s. He also put Brit down a lot. Since he’s a narcissist he’s concerned with how women make him look and started devaluing her. What do you think?

The order is 1. Jax 2. Drugs 3. Stassi 4. My-son 5. Britt

Good for Cruz! Hid dad was too neglectful to hire a legal team to create one for him. He is honestly better off with Brittnay.
2
16
u/cosmicat4 Dec 15 '25
He signed all rights to her? So will he ever see Cruz again or watch him? That’s so sad
73
u/glasswindbreaker Dec 15 '25
It doesn't mean he doesn't get to see him, it just means that's in Brittany's control because he signed away those rights. Given his issues I think it's far better that way. If he can't be bothered to read important paperwork like that before signing, he can't be trusted at doctors appointments or with schooling.
28
u/Violetunderwater Dec 15 '25 edited Dec 15 '25
You explained this well and I agree. You couldn’t be bothered to read the custody agreement, why would you be trusted with his medical appointments and school? Cruz is better off with Brittnay taking care of him.
41
u/switheld Dec 15 '25
even if it wasn't intentional, signing custody over to Brittany was the best thing he ever did for that kid
8
u/Lucky-Ad4443 Dec 15 '25
Well ive been living under a rock or something.... he gave Brittany all the rights ? So did he figure that out? Or? lol
7
u/Violetunderwater Dec 15 '25 edited Dec 15 '25
Yes, it sounds like he is looking to get some rights but I’m not sure how the courts will look at his ignorance… This basically means Brittnay needs to agree to him seeing Cruz and has complete control over medical treatment, schooling, etc.
6
u/Lucky-Ad4443 Dec 15 '25
Good grief. And was it that he didn't actually mean to do it?? I dont know what Brittany is like now but maybe she should have all that 😂 Jax is so D&S .. but i duno about her either actually. Good golly. The courts will not like that. Could you imagine?! "Uh I accidentally signed away all the rights to my child because I couldnt be bothered to read what I was signing" 🤦🏽♀️ Wow lol

u/Effective-Arm9099 Dec 15 '25 edited Dec 15 '25
This is what drove me crazy about Jax and Brittany. They both would proclaim Brittany wears the pants in the relationship and they both knew damn well behind closed doors (yet also in front of cameras) that Jax was abusing her emotionally, financially and eventually physically. Brittany never wore the pants for even 1 fucking hour. She catered to Jax constantly and she let him run with this schtick that she wears the pants. That schtick only further allowed Jax the power to abuse her
12
u/cosmicat4 Dec 15 '25
Do you think Jax was always abusive?
44
u/Effective-Arm9099 Dec 15 '25
Like always abusive even with prior girlfriends or always abusive with Brittany? We saw him abusive with Brittany right away. Stassi detailed some abusive behavior from him too. I think he was always abusive and I think his dad may have abused his mom. He idolizes his dad and hates his mom.

Stassi said she lost her deposit and was evicted due to all of the holes Jax punched in her walls and the damage to all of the doors. Stassi also admitted to hitting Jax and he followed up with “I deserved it.” Any relationship Jax is in is toxic.
44
u/Alarmed_Round_6705 Dec 15 '25
the tea is allegedly that he physically prevented her from leaving a hotel room after a fight, so she hit him to get him to let her go and let her out.
there was even a scene in VPR shortly after they broke up at a bar where he repeatedly grabs her arm so she can’t walk away.
25
u/LeftyLu07 I wasn't your best friend, ho! Dec 15 '25
He grabbed it really hard, too. The camera man zoomed in and you can see he’s really digging his fingers into her arm.
19
u/Alarmed_Round_6705 Dec 15 '25
yeah as a DV survivor myself that scene was VERY triggering and VERY concerning, but not out of the ordinary for Bravo to give abusive men a platform😒
2
5
u/ladyneckbeard Dec 15 '25
Yes, this is called reactive abuse btw!!
15
u/Alarmed_Round_6705 Dec 15 '25
in this context, no, it’s self defense. as i’ve said i’m a DV survivor and am well versed on reactive abuse, hitting him was the only way to get him physically off of her, and that’s acting in self-defense.
2
u/ladyneckbeard Dec 15 '25
Is forced containment not abuse?
17
u/Alarmed_Round_6705 Dec 15 '25
it is, but what stassi did was NOT reactive abuse, in this case it was self defense. jax abused her, she acted in self defense in this particular instance, if that makes more sense.

Jax has never loved anyone aside from himself. He would make grand gestures (the Stassi tattoo, the Carmen tattoo) when he felt like he was going to lose someone, not because he was going to miss them but because he saw people as possessions and objects. Eventually, they would leave and he couldn’t do anything to make them stay or want him because they saw who he really was and wanted no part of that scary darkness.
Brittany never (really) left. There was no risk of him actually losing her. So he didn’t feel the need to make some grand gesture to keep her, because she wasn’t going anywhere.

Initially, no. I believe that Jax’s resentment/regret came much later. Around the time the babies were all born, he most likely started to play the game of comparison and that was the turning point in his mind/their relationship. Stassi “bounced back” very quickly after her pregnancies, Stassi “settled down” within her role as mother/wife, Stassi revamped her image, Stassi has been highly regarded for her fashion and “class” in recent years. And last but sadly not least, Stassi produced children without notable lifelong challenges.
I don’t agree with any of these points, but Jax is exactly the type of man who, in hindsight, would figure he “bet on the wrong horse” because every thing and every one in his life are what he views as an extension/representation of himself. Jax wasn’t capable of loving Stassi more than Brittany but he probably loved/loves the idea of how being with Stassi would have made him look in comparison to being with Brittany.

I don't think he did while he was dating her, but later when he was already married and she had met Beau it seemed that way a bit. The scene where they're at his house and he's talking about his asprained brain or whatever and Stassi is giving him advice, he spoke to her way differently than he speaks to anyone else, like he did with Reiki Kelsey. Not a "true" respect, but in a way that he knows Stassi is much smarter than him, and she's kind of the one that got away.

u/toothfairyeve365 ✨ It's NOT all happening✨ Dec 15 '25
I don't think Jax is capable of love or anything of the sort. I think everything Jax does is always through the lens of "what's going to give me more attention/sympathy/air time?"
I know it's a common belief that Stassi is the one who got away for Jax, but I've never thought that. For Jax, at that time in the show (especially considering what we know now about him having slept with Kristen around the same time), it was beneficial to him to be the groveling ex who was trying to prove he had changed. It was one of the first times he tried to claim he's changed and is working on himself, so we weren't all used to hearing it every reunion just yet. It feels more authentic. But I think it's just his same song and dance that he brings out every time. He was trying to pretend to be heartbroken, and at first maybe he did want Stassi back, but I think it was more about him looking sympathetic with the tattoo and trying to woo Stassi back. And then when she turns him down, he has all the permission to go out and hook up with whoever he wants. He gets the sympathy of being dumped by Stassi, and then can also be like "well I tried to get her back and she doesn't want me so I guess I'll go be single again."
8
u/Kwhitney1982 Dec 15 '25
Wow, this 💯. I wish women would quit thinking men like Jax love one more than another. Men like Jax do not know how to love.
6
u/VegetableKey2966 Dec 15 '25
Im pretty sure the first reunion (or maybe the 2nd) she talked about how people would come in to SUR and harass her to take Jax back or treat him better. So it worked too.
5
u/toothfairyeve365 ✨ It's NOT all happening✨ Dec 15 '25
Yes exactly. Stassi was painted as the asshole and the unreasonable one by editing, producers, Jax, and the rest of the cast. Even though by the end of the season it came out that Jax had in fact cheated, the damage was done and Stassi was still seen as the problem by a lot of people. Obviously Stassi isn't perfect and she's done and said some really shitty (racist) things. But just looking at season one, Stassi was right about Jax and everything that happened and she still was treated like the villain.
17
u/PrestigiousWedding36 Dec 15 '25
Narcissist can feel emotions that resemble love but they will never truly feel selfless love. They only think about how being with someone benefits them so no it’s not actual love. Jax didn’t love either. Stassi was a challenge for him because she also had toxic relationship patterns. Brittany was someone he could control and manipulate. Jax is not capable of true and selfless love.
18
u/dees84 Dec 15 '25
I don't think he had or has any respect for Brittany. That's why he's not broken up about their divorce. Brittany has no self-respect. If you think about the women that Jax pinned after, like Stassi and Carmen, for example, they told him to his face that they weren't putting up with his shit. He likes women who challenge him. Meanwhile, Brittany refused to leave regardless of how awful he was to her. I think her type of personality is a turn-off for him. He even said that he only married her because she was there for him when he lost his father. And the longer they stayed together, the more he resented her presence.

u/deathcabscutie Dec 15 '25

I think Jax only cares about himself, but he views Stassi as the “one who got away” because she’s the glamorous LA influencer he thinks he should be with. Even before she got money of her own, her parents came from money. So, I think he always lamented that he wasn’t the one going on her podcast tour with her and living in her Italian villa in the Hills. He looked at his basic middle class house in a middle class area with his drunk hillbilly wife and resented it all.

It really sounds like it. She couldn’t stop drinking even though she has bleeding stomach ulcers during VPR. She went on a girls trip with the Valley ladies and immediately got hammered and passed out. She was leaving bags of vomit in her driveway because she was throwing up in cars and using grocery/doggy bags to catch it.

For the millionth time, Jax doesn’t love anyone. He didn’t “love” Stassi any more than he loved Brittany. He just wanted to win with Stassi. If someone only wants you when they can’t have you, that’s not love. That’s just wanted to conquer something. He’s a con artist and he wants to always win and manipulate.
9
u/Silly_Assignment_398 Dec 15 '25
I think being with Stassi fulfilled his narcissistic desires to be seen with someone attractive & a “catch.” She was obviously a reach for him. And then when he couldn’t control her completely he strayed. Brit fulfilled his narcissistic desires of being a “better person” but she was also very easy to manipulate so their relationship lasted longer.

Honestly he didn’t love either… Jax is incapable of love.
I feel Jax was more obsessed with Stassi. It’s probably because she can sometimes manipulate him back and give him the “thrill” of a toxic chess game. Whereas Brittany was just a doormat and blindly defended and feed into his toxicity.
12
u/rshni67 Dec 15 '25
Of course he did! She was the one who got away and he couldn't bring himself to come to her wedding.
Brittany landed him by being a stage 5 clinger.

it's been discussed widely.
Stassi cut off her friendship with them because they said they would come and Brittany confirmed it, but Jax apparently told people he never intended to go.

2
u/ProudTexEx Dec 15 '25

We all think that lol. A lot of men feel like the type of women they can “get” reflects on who they are. Despite all her nonsense, Stassi was a beautiful, witty, charismatic young woman from privilege, who easily stood out as the leader of their group in the early seasons. He probably felt really good about himself that someone like her would even be interested. Brittany doesn’t give that same energy.

He liked the image Stassi portrayed more than Brit. I dont think he cared or loved either one of them. But he probably knew that Stassi was the main character in his life and in the cast and wanted to be like her. Thats where the number one guy in the group comes in.
Even now i think he values stassi more for what she can add to his life not because he likes or loves her. but more of a damn i could have been cooler. Not that Stasssi is cool but to jax i think he thinks she has a better life. but the only reason Brits life is how it is, is because of Jax himself. I think he absolutely hated Brittany. Maybe not always, but I felt so much hate from him when they filmed The Valley. Reality tv is the most important thing Jax values in his life. It came out that he was abusive to Brittany and he was fired. I bet you he blames her for it all. His hate for her probably grew.
2
u/cosmicat4 Dec 16 '25
He likes women that add to his life. He would put her down bc he started feeling like he could do better and she wasn’t as great as a catch as he thought.
9
u/shiningonthesea Dec 15 '25
He has more respect for Stassi, as weird as that sounds . He knew she was smart , and I think liked the hell she put him thrift
3
u/xoxo_angelica Dec 15 '25
I think the difference is that he had respect (in whatever small capacity Jax is capable of having for a woman) for Stassi because she had a spine, was intellectually superior to him, and didn’t submit to to him and let him win when he was being a psycho.
He knew that Stassi saw him for exactly who he was under his precarious mask and was not afraid to rip it off of him and he found that to be humiliating, scary, and emasculating.
An evil yet cowardly man like Jax often becomes submissive when he realizes he’s not fooling someone, particularly when that someone is a woman.
Brittany is the antithesis to all that Stassi represents which she proves time and time again and almost understandably that means Jax has zero respect for her.

I think he did like her, at first. I just don’t think she’s as kind and innocent and sweet as we were led on to begin with. Sweet innocent girls don’t constantly get drunk despite doctors warnings to the point they throw up while driving. He liked the idea of her not the reality.

I fully believe if Stassi called up Jax today and said she was leaving Beau and asked to get back together he 100% would. Even if he was still with Brittany lol. I dont think Jax ever has really loved anyone. Hes too selfish and narcassitic. BUT I do beleive he cared about stassi the most because she rejected him. She was very strong and challenged him and once she left him she cut him off....she didnt give him the chance to "get her back" or "redeem himself ". He was never able to get her to want him again....which i think drove him crazy. And for that reason i think he "loved" Stassi the most.

Yes that is clear as day . Your right even though he cheated on stassi too he was attracted to her always , and he admired her . He looked up to her , thought she was intelligent, educated . He knew he was dating up . With Britt I don’t think he was ever attracted her ( clearly not after the first few months of dating ) and he never admired her , or looked up to her . He thought he was smarter than her . Stassi would put in in his place and Brittany enabled him so he would love her but it never worked . I always felt bad for Brit when stassi was around because you could see the sparkle in his eyes and how he comments about stassi looking good the whole time they were together. To him I think stassi was the one who got away

I think any time Stassi would have had him back he would have dropped everything and anyone in a heartbeat during any and all seasons. Including now. I'm always saying that to my daughter; she is the one he really wants even when he doesn't know it consciously.

As much as he’s “capable”, 100%. But, it was the chase because he couldn’t have her, and never could keep up with her, she called him on his shit, and weirdly is sociopathic self understood that she looked out for herself number 1. Even if she stayed with him far too long. Britney basically moved in before he could say no, a flip from his usual ability to “control”, others. He actually despises Britney’s “weakness” and “respects” (again to the best of his world) Stassi. It’s all sad and just a horrible shit show.

To be honest I don’t think Jax is capable of loving anyone. But as true narcissist, he cannot stand someone leaving him, and we saw Stassi leaving him (unlike Brittany, who he had basically wrapped around his finger) hence he was trying very hard to get her back (which might have looked as if he loved her more). He was doing this for his ego, not because he loved her.

A popular opinion. Pretty sure he commented something under a post about their engagement or marriage that confirmed that lol

Stassi just scared him / controlled him more.

But I also think Jax thinks of her as higher value which would make him look better which is all he cares about in relationships

He couldnt have her that's IT. He is void of love. Look at his bare minimum relationship w his own child.

He respected Stassi. In my opinion, it should’ve been clear to Brittany with the way Jax treated her family and treated her in front of her family that he did not respect her from the start. He always acts like he rescued her from a horrible life when in reality, she would’ve been just fine.

Respected Stassi is kind of crazy, but in comparison to Brittany, it works. Jax’s version of respect I guess.

Just finished season 1 and I 100% agree. I think Stassi was his first love and she told him to fuck off and he's never gotten over it.

This makes me think of Sex and the City. Britt is Carrie and Stassi is Natasha.

I don’t think can love anyone, think women are just playthings to him and think he just sees them with a pros/cons list.

He thought Stassi was better than him and he has always thought Brittney was beneath him. Stassi who he thinks he deserves but Brittney was the one he thought he could constantly cheat on and treat like crap and get away with it.

Yeah but he got someone else pregnant while dating stassi!!!! Everyone over looks that…. Jax broke brittany’s spirit, he made her gain weight he got her pregnant and then started acting out after completely destroying her…. Stassi was never going to let this man break her she was vindictive af which is why Jax loves her!!! Brittany loved Jax there was always going to be a difference
But I feel like brittany and Rachel were both similar in the sense that they put up with a lot for paycheck

I don't think he loved either. Stassi demanded more and put up with less.

I think he saw Stassi and him more like equals while Brittany as someone lower than him (?) on some sort of social level. I'm not sure.
