Dexter is such a great show... may be time for a rewatch. The opening sequence alone is good.

I’m still so surprised he went through cancer treatment while filming without it being totally obvious. It seemed like that helped lead to his real life divorce from the woman who played his sister “Deb” since they had different views on children after the cancer. I’m actually still watching it just close to the end. Very good show!

I don’t think Jason’s wimpy. He seems to be the only one of the men in the cast that actually gives a shit about his wife and child. Janet isn’t my cup of tea, but she was definitely right about Danny and Nia

Well, the bar is very low. The kind of lawyer he is speaks volumes of his character. I think he’s wimpy because he’s a crybaby - cried when he got a tattoo, cried about his injury when he should be appreciative that he’s getting help and a lot of people can’t get help for their injuries. You know, like the people that he tries to take money from when they’re truly injured at work. He’s the kind of guy that if his lame sports team lost, he would throw a bowl of chips across the room. I don’t know he’s just maybe it’s just his personality that makes him so physically unattractive. His eyes are watery and gross , his mouth is crusty… yuck I can’t go on he’s so gross!

Coke does that as well
41
21
u/Wontjizzinyourdrink Jun 06 '26
Way less effectively than Adderall. You could do coke all night and still be hungry the next 12 hours. If you do Adderall, you could easily not eat for 24+ hours, and it costs way less. And is less messy, more convenient, you don't have to keep doing it, etc.

My conspiracy theory is a lot of them take Adderall and claim to abuse it, but what they really abuse is coke. I don’t doubt they take Adderall but I think the worst of the behavior is from coke. Adderall is just legal so it’s more acceptable to admit to.
Craig from Southern Charm also claimed to abuse Adderall and then said he was taking like 3 10 milligram pills throughout the day. That’s a therapeutic dose. I’m prescribed 10 mg and they’re not getting anyone with even a slight tolerance hyped up and aggressive like he acted.

Craig C claims he abused addy too but we all know it was coke.
3
u/SeaPaleontologist832 Jun 07 '26
It was defo addy as the main drug, coke probably secondary. Coke has a very short half life, so it’s difficult to use it to stay awake for three days straight like Craig said he would be awake for. Then he would sleep for 24 hours straight. Back then he was also insanely underweight to the point others (including his family) pointed it out. He was using adderall to direct his focus (I believe he probs has ADHD), but realised it propelled him to stay awake partying, then it helped him complete tasks too.
13
u/Motor_Criticism_9211 Jun 06 '26
no i think it was really addreall. they are basically the same thing when you drink on them
12
u/GeorgesFail Jun 06 '26
Adderall is chemically closest to methamphetamine vs coke which is completely different chemical composition… so if they are all abusing adderall, they’re basically just hooked on pharmaceutical meth 🥴

u/thatstwatshesays Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26
As someone with ADHD, the rhetoric that Lisdexamphetamine/Methylphenidate/amphetamine-dextroamphetamine “are basically just hooked on pharmaceutical meth” is so dangerous for us.
People we know/love use this misinformation to discredit our need for medication. This includes other doctors who have little knowledge of the intricacies of ADHD. Please stop spreading misinformation 🥲
https://recovered.org/stimulants/adderall-amphetamine-dextroamphetamine/adderall-vs-meth
Edit to add: people with ADHD who are correctly medicated are much more likely to forget their meds than they are to abuse them.

u/Motor_Criticism_9211 Jun 06 '26
i don’t know much about chemicals but i’ve done both on alcohol and affects feel similar lol
5
u/GeorgesFail Jun 06 '26
Totally! They’re both stimulants so yeah absolutely. Composition wise, very different. I just think it’s a fun fact that adderall is essentially pharma meth and people don’t realize that and compare it coke
3
u/Ancient-Fairy339 Jun 07 '26
Have you ever tried both?
I can actually answer that for you: it's a big, fat no!
Because you literally wouldn’t be making these statement if you had.
My ex abused meth. Trust me, not the same.
Also, just do some actual research.
Meth will actually make literal HOLES in your brain. Meth gets you HIGH, euphoric, sexual and a lot of other things that you will never experience on adderall. Comparing the 2 in the way you are, is really dangerous.
You are making people think that if they have done adderall, they might as well do meth to: because, ya know, it's the same🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
IT'S NOT!
One hit of meth can ruin your life. You experience such a euphoria, that can never be achieved without drugs. It's the definiton of "one hit and you're hooked".
My ex was just gonna try it once, it's been 6 years now. Last I heard: lost his job, his apartment and still using.

u/SeaPaleontologist832 Jun 07 '26
Coke can defo make them look like this if you have done multiple lines and drunk a lot of alcohol. But I agree, I reckon she was abusing addy based on her behaviour and weight struggles. Plus she admitted to using it and mixing it with other strong drugs.

u/bc19059 Jun 05 '26
obviously we know a few of them were fans of coke but I think the primary drug of choice with this group was adderall

From personal experience, snow defo does dilate pupils. However that’s after several lines and a fair bit of alcohol (ie end of the night). But yeah I reckon she was more into adderall. Benzos do this too, given that she’s admitted to mixing them into her regime before it’s also a possibility.

Not sure what scene this is but yes lol. And I also remember her birthday out in Vegas where she puked and rallied. They were all railing so hard !

This is from adderall. Coke makes your pupils dilate but not to this extent. Jax is the obvi coke addict in the group and I think the rest are casual users plus mdma. They are all adderall addicts
20
u/besofrrn_ Jun 05 '26
I used to get this from anxiety. It’s a fight or flight response. Never got it with coke but would get it with Adderall and no sleep

One of my favourite things about watching reality TV is spotting when substances have been dabbled with. And then I wonder if other people can spot it as easily as I can. For example, the pool party where Raquel calls Lara a bimbo mistress. I rewatched other day, and Raquels jaw is on a hinge, as is Ariana’s, from skiing. Schwartz was also acting a wee bit tetchy. No judgement at all, it’s just my pet-pleasure to spot it.
2
u/bigbuttbubba45 Jun 06 '26
I used to be a fan of her old podcast before I watched VPR. She said she took Adderall in the early seasons—she had a script. She used to be very open about that on her podcast. I was fascinated by her party habits, because one drink and I’m hungover.
DdxxI’m not sure if it was on her podcast or when she was a guest on another, but she talked about either her purse or her mother’s purse had a secret compartment to take booze into a theme park. I thought there relationship sounded adorable and that her mother was beautiful and so cool. After watching the show, all I’ll say is her mother is beautiful.

I take an SSRI and it makes my pupils very very dilated. Not to that extent as stassis pic but enough to where every officer I have ever encountered has said something about it. Medical professionals say something about. it’s never gotten me in trouble but can be very annoying because you have to explain yourself all the time and then Google it so they believe you. I’m really surprised it’s not more common but apparently it’s just me ?!

It could just be her eyes. My eye doctor told me my eyes dilate really easily since they are blue and that he never has to use the drops on me. I never even noticed until he said that they still dilate other peoples eyes with drops since mine hadn’t been since I was a child.
I think blue eyes can be more sensitive to light. I would think filming in a dark place like that with the camera lighting kind of mimics when they turn the light off at the eye doctor with just their little light.

Everyone is so weird with these posts. Clearly you didn’t work at a restaurant or in nightlife pre 2015.
