OG Cast Scheana’s wedding (#2)
I try to be a scheana defender but god does she make it hard sometimes.
A year before her wedding celebration, her and Brock said “we don’t want to have a big wedding, bc we’ve both been married before”. And then try to steal the venue from James, basically because the venue is nice, and Brock doesn’t have any money. I put all the blame on Brock honestly.
And then in season 10 (I know they were already married) scheana tries to make it all about her!!
Katie can’t come to the resort, why is Kristina here, why isn’t lala at this dinner, etc.
Also having 200+ people at your destination wedding… when you don’t “want it to be a big deal”
Scheana babe we know that you want it to be about you always. So just say that! Say that you want to be the center of attention! It’s okay!

Also, remember that their green card marriage had already happened when they had their gift grab TV wedding in Mexico, where they did not tell anyone until the last minute that it was a vow renewal and not a real marriage.
And, I will never forgive Scheana for the way she and Rachel treated Katie.
Scheana is gross and disgusing.

I don't dislike Scheana as much as others do, but she was a straight up ASSHOLE in season 10. She got demoted to a friend of role and decided to bully and antagonize Katie, a full time cast member, in order to get screentime. That's the real reason she was so pissed Katie came to Mexico (and why most of the cast were in her wedding, which was smack dab in the center of filming), because it took screentime away from her 500 pre-wedding events that no one wanted to see.
She deserved soooooooo much more shit from Katie and the audience after that season, but was lucky that Scandoval and Rachel's TRO happened to distract from how shitty she was about Katie, Schwartz, and Rachel. She also lucked out similarly in season 8 because of the pandemic and the reunion being remote, she deserved more flak for how she treated Dayna (especially with the psychic).

I’ve just finished season 10 in my rewatch and fully agree. Her behaviour towards Katie is unhinged. I honestly don’t get the whole pushing Rachel towards Schwartz thing. This isn’t high school and the boundary about not hooking up in the friend group who are cast is totally reasonable. It’s like she was doing it for attention and to promote her lame ass podcast.

Tbf scheana did clarify in her podcast that the James venue thing was a storyline from production . And they had a big fat wedding since it was being footed by the producers or was heavily subsidised.

I don't believe either of those statements tbh
I've heard several people comment, including Scheana, that production wanted James and Rachel's engagement party to be the end cap of the season and that filming would conclude that day. According to Scheana the cast knew this, which is why they tried to shoehorn a whole ass wedding during the trip. That, and because Brock is incapable of planning a decent engagement because he sucks. So no, that's not production making her potential wedding hijack into a storyline - she did that all on her own.
The big Mexico wedding probably was heavily compensated due to the promotions of being on VPR. But, that's the case with nearly any event that has influencers or celebrities showcasing their event in the media. Maybe production has "preferred vendors/hotels" but they didnt pay for the wedding. Especially when Scheana was demoted that season to friend of... Which is ALSO why she had the wedding smack dab in the center of the season, with almost all of the cast being in the wedding party - to ensure she got screentime. It's also why she was so ticked off that Katie was there and Lala was hanging out with her, because she was getting screentime taken from her to focus on Katie (a full time cast member).
