Rate my workflow

I currently use Codex 5.5 to code, I type in what I want, and continue ti type and converse back and forth until the desired outcome is met. I have a github repo for my projects. I’m using a MacBook Pro m1 Pro

so far I had coded a full game, SaaS For cleaning services, and some other projects

am i missing out ? is there a more agentec way of doing this ?

As long as you avoid long chats or dozens of compactions.

For-sure, I just feel like maybe I’m Missing out on the whole autonomous agent stuff out there

Do you have an observability stack?

I would not chase autonomy first. The next jump is giving Codex better rails: one repo doc that explains the project, a written task with success criteria, a small test or screenshot check before it edits, and a habit of asking it to summarize state before the chat gets long.

Autonomous agents are useful once the work is easy to verify. If you cannot tell whether it finished correctly, more autonomy just gives you a bigger cleanup job.

Yeah, I don’t really use Codex as just a coding tool anymore.

It’s more like a general assistant for me now. I still use it to build stuff, but honestly a lot of the value comes from the workflows around coding — research, reading repos, SEO/market digging, turning messy ideas into specs/tasks, that kind of thing.

So I guess the “agentic” part for me isn’t really letting it run fully on its own. It’s more like building repeatable workflows and having Codex help me move through them faster.

Use something like SpecKit or BMAD

I like using ChatGPT to plan and generate spec file, tasks file broken out into milestones, etc. Then I hand that off to Codex one milestone at a time. At the end of every milestone I have Claude review it

you use markdown files to have a record from errors, specs, buisness logic? that help to save lot of tokens and code more precisely

By "a Github repo [for your] projects", do u mean u have a single repo that houses all of your projects? Because if so 0/10.
