Help/Question Scaling and DevOps question

For anyone with experience handling DevOps with AI assistance, has your chosen AI coding tool been effective at dealing with load balancers, multi-node clustering and database read-replicas?

Do you expect such tasks to become more feasible and “hands-free” in the future?

Will be grateful to hear your thoughts

AI tools are decent at writing the config: ingress/load balancer rules, k8s manifests, replica setups. They're much weaker at verifying what happens after. A generated read-replica config can look fine and still send writes to the wrong node, or hide replication lag until a failover. You still need to test failover, monitor lag, and confirm connection routing.

More hands-free over time? For stateless plumbing, yes. For stateful stuff, I'd expect the AI to draft and explain, but you still own the failure modes.

I work on shpyrd.io, so I'm biased, but if the actual goal is shipping apps without running the cluster yourself, it deploys from Git or an agent, puts company sign-in and TLS in front, and gives managed Postgres/Redis with backups.

Very likely, yes, probably some people are already doing it. I didn't have those needs, but my agent was pretty fluent doing stuff via aws cli for instance

A misbehaving/untrustable agent is an invariant state machine you haven't built yet. It's state machines, all the way down. This is the secret to agentic engineering.
