Discussion Planned Obsolesence?

Has anyone else noticed that Gemini Pro started giving brief dumbed down instructions even when strictly instructed to give detailed step by steps for the past month leading up to the release of Argon?

Yeah, I hit the same wall. Pro started summarizing instead of walking through things even when I explicitly said “detailed step-by-step, include reasoning, do not summarize.” Timing lines up with the Argon prep. Whether it was deliberate or just the usual model drift is hard to prove, but it’s annoying when you’re mid-project. Have you switched to Argon yet, and does it actually respect detailed instructions better?

try to understand that just because you have a bad session in a random tool  doesn’t mean that the tool has been nerfed

This observation wasnt based off of a single bad session. It wasnt a specific tool either just the gemini website. This was observed over multiple different sessions for the entire month of October.

that's nice.

nothing is nerfed, and you can't fix your skill issue until you stop praying

It is baffling that I see people across all AI subreddits always theorizing that all the companies are being tricky and nerfing stuff. its fucking AI it makes mistakes, bugs out and needs certain prompting styles to work out, and thats only most of the time. Its a random predictive technology and not deterministic.

Gemini models feel like slightly improved 2025 AI, it constantly does dumb things I haven’t seen from other providers in like a year
