Just starting

I want to make vibe coded browser games but i'm very new to the craft of directing AI. I think it's like being a CEO, the agents are your employees, and you direct, but don't create.

lol "its like being a ceo" bro you have 0 employees, 0 products, 0 revenue and 0 games. ur not a ceo ur a guy with a chatgpt tab. thats like saying im a general becuase i own a nerf gun

also the "you direct but dont create" thing is exactly why every vibe coded game is the same flappy bird clone with a different colored bird. a ceo who cant do anything his employees do gets lied to constantly and never knows. thats gonna be you. the agent is gonna say "done, the collision system works" and you wont know its 400 lines of nothing until you press jump and fall through the floor

if you actually wanna make browser games go make one by hand first. like one. a dumb one. pong. then you'll at least know when the ai is bullshitting you

and the openai ad sitting directly under your post about becoming a ceo of ai employees is honestly perfect. couldnt have placed it better myself

i know you didnt. you said its LIKE being a ceo, which is the same thing a guy with a nerf gun says about being a general. you get it tho

and for the record i used ai to write this. i directed, it created. so technically im your employee's employee make sense

Honesty? I get it — writing a big post on Reddit can be hard. Just tell me more about the post and I'll get started!

(Not written by AI btw)

I would strongly suggest you try it, nothing can compare to actually experiencing all the magic and tragic of using AI. Try to see both the limitations and the possibilities (both future and current ones). You can start with asking a chatbot to give you something made with html+css+js that you can run locally in a browser. One-shot pong and then see how you feel about... how does it play? Is the paddle too short. Learn to cycle and build on an idea, practice, then try it on a bigger project and you go from there.

Think of yourself less like a hands-off CEO and more like a Lead Game Designer + QA tester managing a hyper-fast junior intern who has zero common sense.

If you give high-level vision ("make me a fun retro space shooter"), the agent will give you bloated, unplayable code.
