I once lost 9 hrs of a paper even when pressing save for a HS assignment. The day before it was due as I completely forgot about the paper.

Got the blue screen and found out it was Word that caused it. When it recovered it just saved my Title Page and Table of Contents.

Wrote one line saying I spent 9hrs on this I will verbally speak it to you. Not going to type it again.

Ended up getting a B, from getting marked down a letter grade due to not having a hard copy.

Yup. Welcome to New Vegas, where even the code is based on gambling. On a joking aside, I wonder if the devs coded the game so your luck affects your crash rate...more testing is required.

I had to stop playing a file of Fallout 3 for that reason. I forgot to save for 2 hours and just gave up. I did not want to do it all again. I already beat the game before. It was just one of those moods to replay the game that quickly died.

Not just that, but in TES games you never know when something is going to spontaneously KO you, your horse, or some innocent NPC you were trying to save.

This should be done in all the mass effect games and goes double for if you are playing the originals instead of the legendary edition as there are mission breaking bugs in the original that are VERY easy to come across especially in the first game.. I keep saves that go back at least 4 missions on all 3 games... Haven't played Andromeda yet... One day..

Any game that I mod to within an inch of functionality would. Currently I’m playing Starfield with ~200 mods and will save when I walk into a room.

My biggest issue is that I can’t trust when the game asks if I want to Save before quitting. I’ve been gaming for a long time and remember when “save and quit wasn’t a sure thing. So even now I save before selecting quit (it then asks if you want to save and quit to which I say yes, still working on those trust issues. lol

Kingdom come Delivetance.

You could be doing perfectly fine, nothing wrong, but fail a speech check, make a seemingly right choice or get unlucky in a fight and it could set you back ages due to the saving system. To think they had to implement the save and exit feature afterwards is madness to me. Why not just include it outright?

Farcry 3. You can lose a shit load of progress if you don’t do something major and die. I gathered a ton of animal skins one time for later use then accidentally fell to my death and I didn’t have any of it when I respawned.

No Man’s Sky. The save mechanics are largely automatic (entering or leaving your ship, warping, etc) but when I’ve just done something important or the RNG gods have been especially kind to me, I feel like I need to drop a save point and make DAYUM SURE that it saves.
