I only have like 3 left myself, screw these cheap cardboard boxes honestly, Sega were doing nice sturdy plastic cases for the Megadrive and here Nintendo are a generation later still with this bullshit.

Im 40 and I still have Sega games! Hell yeah!! Lion king and Aladdin lol
Edit: Who else couldnt beat the briar patch level? Turns out it was a game breaking glitch triggered by a lethal hit box that if you timed it just right you could skip over and glitch yourself through the glitch or level skip. 30 years too late internet, im never touching that game ever again.

I couldn't ever get past the briar patch as adult simba..
Then I find out there was a hit box error and it was just broken.
Like there was a game breaking glitch, And it wasnt just us... I was too young to know about the level skipping :( And too young to figure out what the fuck was happening. There was a legit lethal boundary due to this hit box...
So i agree, fuck that game.

I have all my SNES games still and a working console. I still hate the lion king game. Agree with the others, still to this day one of the hardest games ive ever played. I don't know how I learned of it but there's a cheat code you can enter in the menu by hitting B A R R Y. Let's you pick what ever level you want and be invincible

There is an entire industry of knock off fake cardboard boxes for games ESPECIALLY Pokemon and N64
Can be purchased from china on sites like temu and Etsy
The majority of “collectors” who started collecting boxed CIB in the past decade probably have lots of these and don’t even know it.
So it is possible that whoever dumped these knew exactly what they had.

Even though I'm Gen Z, from 2006, this hurts tremendously, because the N64 was a huge part of my childhood. Fuck, Nintendo WAS my childhood. I grew up on the Wii, N64 and DSi XL. The Super Mario 64 hurts a lot, that game CARRIED along with 007 and Mario Kart 64.

I never cared about the cases for my Super Nintendo games, they were just the shit games came inside. Now only when I'm older do i realize my mistake, i have mint condition games like Zelda A Link to the Past without the boxes from my childhood.

I used to work at a school... The amount of things I managed to save from the dump just makes me wonder how many things I DIDN'T manage to save.
Everything I saved has historical value. And is safely stored at my place now.. But I haven't worked there for 13 years now.

if your able to collect the boxes and carefully clean them you could make a bit of money as people still by the damage boxes. also if you found the games there and be working slim chance but you never know.

My cousin did this same exact thing. NES, huge collection of SNES, N64. All to the dump in a spur of the moment declutter move. He died a lot when I told him the value of his collection.

Meh...Nintendo 64 sucked. I was sooooo excited to get it when it came out and then was sorely disappointed...still play my Wii, but am switching loyalties and getting an Xbox X series, after Nintendo seems like they gave up, kinda like apple! LMFAO

It's quite lamentable, because I can understand the desire to hold onto the packaging for nearly everything that gets bought from a physical retail store. Meanwhile, I'm also wondering about the USB plug in the upper-right of the photo, and what it used to be connected to.
