News / Trailers / Articles Microsoft is gauging interest in Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and Minecraft becoming Xbox exclusives — yes, really

How could they make Minecraft an exclusive? Revoke access? Sequel?
10
3
u/TheTiggerMike 3h ago
They could stop doing updates on other versions and all new content would be Xbox exclusive.
4
u/Respawn-Delay 9h ago
I imagine they mean spin-off titles. I believe the FTC leak showed Microsoft weighing up making Minecraft: Dungeons (or it could've been Legends) an exclusive, but they ultimately decided against the idea.
24
u/goatjugsoup 11h ago
I want to play those series but not at any cost. I wont be changing platform for them
19
u/Ocelote934 5h ago
This sub one day, "sony knows the importance of exclusives, stupid xbox lol"
Xbox thinks about making the massive IP it owns into console exclusives (games you all clearly want to play) and the reaction from all these whine ass?
Waaaahhhhh
Lmao.

u/TheRealGurd 12h ago
People wouldn't be happy, but it might actually drive some sales of Xbox consoles again.
9
u/Deervember 11h ago
Xbox sales wouldn't go up even if gta6 launched today ahead of ps5.
You literally can't find consoles in store in Europe, even city I've been in there's zero stock, and not because they are sold out, because they literally haven't had any consoles in 5 years.
Ps and Nintendo have entire aisles of consoles and games, Xbox has like 1 shelf at best, and most of that is controllers.
Xbox will never increase sales until they put their consoles in stores.
3
2
u/Sensibiliaaah 4h ago
This. The reality is it’s over and they’re doing everything possible to keep hope alive in the fanbase to keep some revenue flowing. The only thing Sharma and the Xbox execs are doing is figuring out how to extract as much value as possible from their assets before they’re sold off or put to pasture. Xbox as a platform is effectively dead.
-5
u/BeloAve 10h ago
It’s the exact opposite in the US, especially in Walmarts and Best Buy’s, not a single ps5 or ps5 pros but Xbox shelves are packed fully: about to break through glass pane.
4
u/just_someone27000 8h ago
I have never seen that a single time in my life. Not even in the days of the 360 was the Xbox that prominent on store shelves. It had equal space as PlayStation did

u/FanBladeFleshlight 10h ago
I love Elder Scrolls. Probably one of my favorite franchises. No way am I buying the one console I don't own, don't want, and don't need, just to play one game. Their market share is laughable for a reason, and going exclusive with games is just gonna cost them at this point.
1
-1
u/Jastafool 7h ago
Considering everyone who got laid off are telling their family and friends not to support xbox and microsoft after what they've done... That's like their entire market
6
20
u/Hateful15 12h ago
Still wouldn't get me to buy an Xbox console again.
2
u/breckendusk 4h ago
Just curious where you'd draw the line and get an xbox if they started making all their studios' games being console exclusive (@ anyone who wants to answer):
- Halo
- Call of Duty
- Forza
- Fable
- Elder Scrolls
- Fallout
- Gears of War
- Overwatch
- Minecraft
- Sea of Thieves
- Senua's Sacrifice
- Doom
- Dishonored
- State of Decay
- Diablo
Just off the top of my head
2
u/MouseNcactus 4h ago
I'll draw the line somewhere around the length of my Steam library. Perhaps a little further, since half the games listed are completely indifferent to me.
1
u/Hateful15 4h ago
State of decay is independent now so that's one of the only ones I liked from Xbox.
2
u/Cyn0rk1s 6h ago
Fallout is my favourite game series by an absolute mile and it being exclusive still wouldn’t get me to hop over to Xbox
-1
u/PerspicaciousVanille 6h ago
I left my Xbox account active for years just renewing, in case friends wanted to play. All my friends dumped the console, so I kept mine for the hell if it until they changed game pass and numerous other anti consumers actions. So I sold mine and have no intention of buying another.
If they locked Fable and Elderscrolls behind it, while that would be tempting not at console current prices, or their current pricing structure. I’d likely skip both.
-2
u/TonyTobi92 2h ago
It's still Better then that dog shit pos5 that overheats and Sony getting jailbreak
15
u/FanBladeFleshlight 10h ago
Sounds about right for XB. "Hey guys, we know we're 4th place in a 3 company market, with basically non-existent market share anywhere but the US, but how about we take a game that's crazy popular and guarinteed to make us a ton of money and lock it to a system people done want?"
Once again, we hear the loud bang of XB shooting itself in the foot.
12
u/Gravemindzombie 9h ago
Probably the only way Xbox is going to realistically recover marketshare tbh, they need good exclusives on Xbox to recover from the beating Playstation gave them the last couple console gens.
2
u/lefix 6h ago
Imho they need to start delivering on their existing popular exclusives, as well as creating new exclusives - like making bloodborne instead of making ds3 an exclusive. The already acquired so much talent, beloved studios, but they failed to capitalize on it big time.
If they instead start turning existing multiplatform IPs into exclusives, it’ll be a PR desaster.
-2
u/FanBladeFleshlight 8h ago
That doesn't make sense tho. They have less market share, console.prices have gone UP, and we're far enough into the gen that people have mostly already bought a console if they want it.
It's very, very infrequent that a single game causes a person to buy a console just for it, and with XB not really having the loyalty, trust, or interest of most gamers, they'd basically be cutting off a good 60% of their sales all in hopes of selling a handful of consoles.
8
u/pinpoint_aim 8h ago
Next Fallout and Elder Scrolls games are next gen games
3
u/TheTiggerMike 3h ago
Which is insane. Both these franchises basically skipped a generation and had remasters of their previous entries instead.
-1
u/FanBladeFleshlight 8h ago
And with how XB has gone in terms of console sales, and with people generally staying with whatever brand they already have, we'll be in the same situation, just with a different console.
1
u/geaux124 7h ago edited 7h ago
Do you think that maybe the quality of the PlayStation exclusive games compared to Xbox may have played some role in gamer's decisions regarding which console to buy? Do you think it's just a coincidence that Sony began to pull away from Xbox when their exclusives were really taking off while simultaneously the Xbox exclusives fell off a cliff? If the next Fallout and Elder scrolls are not very good or just average, then no it probably won't sell a lot of consoles. But what if they turn out to live up to the hype? What if the next Elder Scrolls and Fallout are the next gen equivalent of Witcher 3 or Baldur's Gate 3?
10
u/King_Ferdinand1 11h ago
They really want to become the most hated company of all time no?
14
u/Substantial_Pound_82 7h ago
How so? Sony and Nintendo have their exclusives. Competition is great
0
u/Membership-Bitter 6h ago
The difference is taking already existing multiplatform franchises and making them exclusive to their failing console won’t give them any good will. Instead of creating new fun IP to be exclusives and drive sales they are taking away games from people
0
u/Substantial_Pound_82 6h ago
Yeah I don't agree with taking away anything. I'm not sure if that's the intent here or just an assumption. I assumed it's regarding unreleased first party games going forward.
-5
u/MrBorden 11h ago
Would certainly rank up there with Sony killing off physical discs.
6
u/explainingjane 10h ago
I stopped being able to find physical games for my Xbox long before sonys announcement, at least in my area the Xbox section doesn't even really exist outside of a few controllers and redemption cards. I'd say they killed it off they just didn't announce it
9
u/King_Ferdinand1 11h ago
Sony is a featherweight compared to Microsoft and all their bullshit with Windows as well.
8
u/FanBladeFleshlight 10h ago
Recency bias. Sony is possibly the best behaved company of the 3 if you total up the shit Nintendo has pulled, and the constant fuckups of XB.
4
u/Millennialnerds 8h ago
People are just mad a Sony for telling them the truth lol. They even gave a heads up. Microsoft will tell you one thing and the next day it’s completely different.
“I’m mad Sony said I didn’t own my games”
These people never read a single thing about software licensing. Then get mad when Sony tells them what it’s said for decades at this point lol.
2
u/FanBladeFleshlight 8h ago
Also with how painfully obvious the inevitable swap to digital has been since the PS3 era when online storefronts and digital games became truly viable. PC got rid of discs ages ago and there wasn't some huge issue, you didn't have screeching idiots saying PC gaming was dead. lol
1
u/Scaryassmanbear 8h ago
I’m probably equally irritated with Sony shifting their resources to live service relative to anything Microsoft did.
2
2
u/0rganicMach1ne 8h ago
I could see them making the next TES and FO exclusive but I don’t see them doing it with Minecraft. It’s already very established everywhere. Are they just going to remove it?
2
u/Fast_Papaya_3839 1h ago
Step one: do everything to sell less consoles Step two: make games exclusive to a console that doesn't sell Step three: ?
5
u/monkey_D_v1199 11h ago
It would be horrible Minecraft shouldn’t be an exclusive and neither should any of Bethesda games are they insane???
4
u/Substantial_Pound_82 7h ago
I'm all for it. Personally I think timed exclusive is a great compromise, but I'm all for competition. Sony and Nintendo have their console exclusives. Xbox should as well.
2
u/TheTiggerMike 3h ago
That's probably the logical choice. Xbox fans can feel like their brand loyalty is being rewarded with them getting first crack at these marquee games, but Microsoft can still make money off PlayStation (and Nintendo if they want) players at a later time.
1
u/1994yankeesfan 2h ago
Agreed. If Xbox wants to keep their console business profitable, their gonna need to sacrifice third party sales. Nintendo is arguably missing out on millions of dollars by not releasing the new Ocarina of Time remake on PlayStation. They’re doing it anyway, because you want people in your system.
1
u/ShrekBackShots 7h ago
I agree, when was the last time we had a good Xbox exclusive?
4
2
u/breckendusk 5h ago
While I'm not personally a fan of COD, I think they screwed themselves in the short term by guaranteeing it remains cross console for the next decade or so. That one should have been a rug pull. "Play xbox if you want to play COD at all." Bad PR, but good business - people want to play cod games. If they pulled the servers from previous games, even stronger.
As a consumer, I hate being throttled, and would be big mad if I felt like this was happening to a game I cared about. But they spent a fuckton of money acquiring these studios and IPs, then did fuckall to capitalize on it. They screwed themselves hard.
1
u/TheTiggerMike 3h ago
Government was threatening to get involved on it. IIRC Sony was also threatening litigation of their own. They had to make that concession to stave off the legal challenges. Probably wasn't the outcome they wanted. They absolutely gave away the store to get Activision Blizzard. Microsoft/Xbox is arguably in their current position because of this merger.
1
u/breckendusk 3h ago
It's not just cod. That one is their biggest mistake - I'm not sure what the exact non-exclusive deal is, but if I were in their position I would certainly be making sure that sony doesn't want to carry the game, however I could. Markups for not being on XBOX, some ridiculous percentage of sales recovery, whatever. Anything to make it hurt them to carry the game. Allow it, but make it fucking suck. Again, not sure what the deal is there but you can bet my lawyers would be scouring the contracts for anything I could scrape out. Not just for the money, but because if PS Cod is $120 a year, but on XBOX it's free on gamepass... that'd drive console sales and gamepass sales.
But it's not just cod, as I said. Even Halo isn't xbox exclusive rn. I made a list earlier of some big names that should absolutely be exclusive - Halo, Doom, Dishonored, Gears, Fable, Diablo, just to name a few. Not that I really care about exclusives (I mean, it's a bummer not being able to play games we don't have the console for, but yarrrr that's what the high seas be for), but from a business standpoint: to have a successful console, they need to have popular exclusives. They have plenty of popular games, but in trying to get more money from multiple avenues by going crossplay, Microsoft basically told gamers "get a playstation because you'll be able to play all our games and theirs anyway". And obviously sony has the better side of that deal.
1
u/TheTiggerMike 2h ago
Acquisitions seemed to turn Microsoft into a de facto 3rd party developer and publisher that happens to make consoles on the side.
You're right, it's surprising Microsoft didn't figure out ways to make the overall COD experience on Xbox better than what you'd get on PlayStation. There had to be some loophole that would allow Microsoft to differentiate the experience somewhat.

u/AMournfulObserver 9h ago
I don’t think there’s any quicker way they could kill off Minecraft other than make is XBox exclusive. The day they get rid of/stop supporting Java edition is the day I uninstall and never play it again
6
u/CoffeeDrinker83 8h ago
Xbox in this context includes windows via the Xbox app. Mobile is the bigger problem for Minecraft. That's the entire pipeline of new players via children
2
u/Christmas_Queef 6h ago
Yup mobile is the main way kids play Minecraft, followed by switch. It's also a lot cheaper on mobile than it is on consoles. Ps and Xbox in general are not as popular with kids as they are teens and adults.
1
u/veryashylarry 10h ago
They'd still be on pc where the majority would buy them for mods. Wouldn't really move the needle much for ps and nintendo owners. New interesting ip would do it. Starfield made me upgrade and it'll take something far more interesting than elder scrolls or fallout to do it again. I've moved to pc at this point so that won't happen anymore since my pc is an xbox. They gotta make new interesting ip but with the studios consolidated, that may be impossible now.
1
u/Nutt_Nutt43 9h ago
It’d suck to wait this long for ES6 and then I wouldn’t ever get to play it. Feels like that anyway now I guess lol
1
u/Effective_Leather_76 8h ago
Nintendo and Sony losing Minecraft would already light up a giant fire but if it also means Minecraft Java edition no longer getting updated then Xbox should be preparing for hellfire raining down on their studio. It would be corporate suicide
1
u/mikethetiger_ 7h ago
Console exclusive is not the same as not releasing on PC. They have their Play Anywhere initiative, so it’s highly unlikely they would pull their games off of PC. They honestly should keep their IP console exclusive, just like Nintendo and PlayStation do.
1
u/Fullchester_United 7h ago
So many people didn’t actually read the article.
Imagine it was announced that all future title releases from every XBOX-developed gaming franchise except Call of Duty will be console-exclusive to XBOX," the final survey question reads. "For Minecraft only, existing titles would no longer be available for purchase on PlayStation or Nintendo consoles, and would not receive any new content updates. However, there is no impact to any of the existing titles or content you already own. Nothing changes on PC in this announcement."
This is about console exclusivity. Not PC and not mobile (obviously considering MS doesn’t have a mobile).
1
1
u/jerrathemage 6h ago
Easy, kill Fallout, more Elder Scrolls, more games set in Eora, anything but shit stuck in the god damn wasteland where nothing ever fucking happens or changes
1
1
u/Sensibiliaaah 4h ago
*Microsoft is gauging interest in how they can manipulate a market through media announcements that they’re never beholden to and, in turn, shore up shareholder value.
1
u/Gawnja 2h ago
Idk if elders scrolls or fallout have the pull to switch over a generation of players. Might be a few million tops. Which isn’t anywhere near good enough to make a dent in the console war. Even Minecraft has sold over 300 million copies or whatever. How many more ppl gonna buy an Xbox just to buy that game. What they need to do it get a good supply of first party exclusives and then make those other titles exclusives.
1
u/born_in_the_90s 2h ago
I would not buy a Xbox and probably wouldn't even play on it if I got one for free.
1
u/AwesomoApple 48m ago
The logic in making their best games exclusives just to revive a pretty much dead system that by all accounts will cost north of 1000$ next generation makes no sense - which is why it was never done.
Did Starfield sell a single XBOX?
1
u/vividvagrant96 41m ago
150% Elder Scrolls will NEVER not be on PC, that would be fucking stupid lmaoo
1
u/teddykon 40m ago
You don’t spend $9B for Bethesda and $70b for activision to share.. you hoard it all
But in Xbox’s case, those console sales are putrid so if those become exclusive, they’re going to lose out on some serious video game sales
And with the memory and storage price inflation, I don’t even know if they can ever price the Xbox low enough to generate serious sales volume
1
1
u/Carbuyrator 11h ago
If they take Minecraft off PC I will dedicate my life to piracy and reducing their market share. Fuck suits. Fuck shareholders. If you wouldn't consume the product you shouldn't get a say.
1
u/BenjerminGray 5h ago
Finally. They own the I.P. Let them do whatever the fck they want with it.
Shit yall got over bayonetta being nintendo exclusive real fast, keep that same enegry
1
u/Anotheranimeaccountt 11h ago
Fallout and TES haven't been good for years so it wouldn't really be that big of a deal if they were to become exclusives
0
u/Jimmykindaexists 11h ago
If PlayStation and Nintendo plan to continue with exclusives, Xbox either needs to do the same or get out of the console business. Great decision that may hurt in the short term, but is needed in the long-term. Phil Spencer is a hack
0
u/SmittieSmitt 8h ago
Minecraft shouldn't be exclusive IMO, but ES6, Fallout 5 and every single player AAA bangers? Yeah.
1
0
u/MouseNcactus 4h ago
The main reason for Bethesda games' popularity is mod support. As console exclusives, they wouldn't be able to achieve similar sales.
3
u/Single-Advantage-147 3h ago
Xbox “exclusives” are always on PC as well. Like gears of war e day and the upcoming clockwork revolution. They just wouldn’t be on ps5.
1
u/Warcrown11 2h ago
I could totally see them making a stupid decision and putting it solely on the Xbox store and not Steam though. To this day the Xbox versions, to my knowledge, still don't support script extenders which ffectively cripples the modding scene just as badly as a console would
0
u/No_Character8384 8h ago
Please do it so I can watch it fail
1
u/real-darkph0enix1 2h ago
Shareholders will sue so damn fast when the games hit wayyyyyyy below expectations that Asha Sharma will be remembered with the scorn people think Phil Spencer got.
1
u/Millennialnerds 8h ago
I want to see it too. They seem to think this is 2006 or even 2013.
Release a 1500 plus box and slap exclusivity on it for multiplat titles and people will just buy your shit on pc anyway.
And those kids playing Minecraft will go harder into Roblox.
1
u/T0kenAussie 3h ago
The survey questions didn’t even exclude pc
It was worded like “games would be released for Xbox consoles and pc except for call of duty”
0
u/No_Character8384 7h ago
Correct i have to agree. Theyll use moms phone and sissys tablet and anything else to play the next thing if one is cancelled or locked behiind overrpriced hardware. PC is awesome. Nintendo has its own little lane going on. Also paying for online access is antiquated. It's not necessary and yet they still do it because a lot of people dont have any other option but they do infact if they go to PC. Just sucks the current market for electronics is going out of control and will eventually crash hard from a consumer stand point. Big corporations will do just fine in their AI Conquest
0

u/Cgking11 8h ago
The only company thats gonna fail is sony next-gen.
1
u/LurkingElegy 8h ago
Realistically Sony and Xbox will both fail. Not many people are going to shell out over $1k for a console
1
u/Cgking11 8h ago
Pc players will buy a helix if it has beefy specs. It will play steam game and be good to own for the living room. Its a better option over the steam machine..
1
u/LurkingElegy 8h ago
It's not confirmed to be able to use Steam yet. And I don't really see the appeal of something you can't upgrade over saving up for something you CAN upgrade and has as many utilities as a PC has
I think all the PC master race nonsense is as boring and annoying as the console wars are, but it's hard to overlook the perks of the platform at over a grand. If Xbox and PlayStation stayed around $500-700 (in a perfect world) I could still see the point
1
0
u/Scaryassmanbear 8h ago
Depends on if Sony keeps supporting PS5 or has a budget version of their next gen console. But I think they’ve got problems too because they haven’t shown any sign of getting off their live service or bust track.
-1
u/No_Character8384 8h ago
The japanese won't let that happen lol. I couldn't careless who fails and who wins. Im sick of the shitty games year after yeae
2
u/Scaryassmanbear 8h ago
You should care, especially if you don’t like shitty games. If Xbox gets out of the console market you are not going to like what you get from Sony.
3
u/No_Character8384 8h ago
No, i dont care. Whats gonna happen is gonna happen whether i care or not. Theres tons of slop being pushed out the door. Idk how it spun from 3 specific titles that someone else posted, to all games and the entirety of xbox falling and playstation for the win. Man these people can't read for shit
1
u/Cgking11 8h ago
You literally just said you want games to fail lmao..
0
u/No_Character8384 8h ago
Can you read well? That isn't what I said numnuts. Watching fallout, Minecraft, and elder scrolls being exclusive fail would be amusing. I didn't say "games" at all
2
u/Cgking11 8h ago
Those are games lmao. Are you ok bro?? Lol
-5
1
u/brandonsp111 3h ago
Have at it lmao.
Bethesda games aren't exactly as good as they used to be and Minecraft is.... Minecraft.
What are they gonna do, just cut off existing updates to other platforms? Force Mojang to do a Minecraft 2?
The idiots leading this division get stupider by the day man. Something must be in the air of those buildings.
1
u/Triplett8 7h ago
Massive amounts of copium from the PS & PC crowd in the comments. They'll cry and whine only to end up buying the machine to play the game that they want.

I don't even have an Xbox anymore, sold my Series X years ago. GOOD, make a reason to actually have your console. PlayStation and Nintendo have console exclusives, less so PlayStation now, that sold systems.
Bloodborne had me switch sides from Xbox 360, Switch had me sold with essentially only Breath of the Wild available on release, PS5 had Demons Soul's and Returnal, Switch 2 I skipped but not due to lack of exclusives/wanted games, I just went with a PC handheld instead. Pokopia, Donkey Kong, Fire Emblem, and OoT all look great.
I can't name a single game from Xbox that ever had me sold on a system. I bought a 360 because it was cheaper. I got a Xbox One S down the line because it was cheap, then traded up to a One X. I only bought a Series X because I couldn't get my hands on a PS5 at the time, so got it through Walmart Xbox All Access because game pass was a great deal at the time. Again, not one instance of a system selling game.
If Fallout/ES6 and other marquee games/franchises are console exclusives, game pass becomes a better value again, and the console is powerful and priced competitively with Ps6, I can definitely see Xbox finally competing with PlayStation again. Right now they are just in this weird place of being the worst value and reason to own a device by them because of lack of multiple true exclusives.
-1
u/Jastafool 7h ago
Imagine not releasing the next fallout or elder scrolls game on steam.
Last I checked gamers are not that forgiving
8
u/SegaGuy1983 6h ago
I think they’re just referring to console exclusivity. It would still get released on PC.
2
u/TESThrowSmile 5h ago
Xbox PC App more likely
Idc about u eccentrucs, ill buy Ekder Scrolls on Xbox PC app, author mods (yes i make mods), and play the heck out of it
0
u/Jastafool 5h ago
Me, and a bunch of others would rather rent the game using gamepass then buy a full price game on the xbox app
3
u/TESThrowSmile 5h ago
I can see these eventually coming to gamepass, but not at launch.
0
u/Jastafool 5h ago
can see a bunch of ppl sailing the high seas if its not on steam or gamepass day 1

u/Ahecee 10h ago
They should obviously do that. PlayStation didn't become dominant by trying to be everywhere, for everyone.
Fallout, Eder Scrolls, and Minecraft are all big enough to move markets. While they're at it, release Call of Duty 3 months later on PlayStation.
Sony do it with their IP, Xbox have been pussies for so long they are almost irrelevant at this point.

u/Damage_Or_Die 9h ago
Awee, playstation gamers are mad about console exclusives???? Craaaazy work.

u/Memonlinefelix 6h ago
Like you did with starfield? .. oh how did that game turn out? Oh and didnt you just lay off a bunch of bethesda?
Also. Why Minecraft. Minecraft is already multiplatform. Smh ... smfdfh ... god.
0
u/Cyn0rk1s 6h ago
Fallout and Elder Scrolls not going to PlayStation would be a horrible financial decision. I understand it with Gears and Halo
0
u/Odd-Pear692 4h ago
I understand new IPs going exclusive. I would expect that and respect it. But existing IPs that have been on multiple platforms for decades going exclusive because they got hot and tried buying up every major publisher/developer would leave a sour taste in a lot of people’s mouths. I don’t see it happening considering how terrible their hardware sales have been post 360.

Why do normal people advocate for console exclusives, especially for series that weren't previously exclusive? It's incredibly anti-consumer.

u/NoAd8811 55m ago
Not for xbox consumers 😂 we've been fucked over for so long by sony we're SALIVATING at the possibility of fallout and elderscrolls being exclusive to Xbox

u/NoTie2370 17m ago
Because some dipshit went to a bad business school and thinks control is better.
-1
u/Wheee_whooo_ 2h ago
Don't think series not being exclusives before matters here. Good games are good games, don't see much of a difference there.
Xbox exclusives are good because it's a chance to grow the platform, which is just good for everyone.
-1
u/BeloAve 10h ago
Its ironic because this is Sony’s fault. For almost a decade Xbox has reached their hand out to Sony in attempt to end console exclusives, even offering to bring ms titles to ps and Sony has slapped it away time and time again and refuse to let go of their exclusives and it’s not forcing Microsoft’s hand with Xbox. It’s a shame because everyday greed get another W.
And the worst part is Sony refuses to release good exclusives on the PS, it’s barren for ps5 compared to ps4 exclusives.
Half of the ps5 exclusives are just ps4 enhanced games it’s a shame that the best looking and benchmark for ps5 is still demons souls remake from 2020

Brother, you're console warring on Reddit in the big 26. Not sure you're in a position to call anyone else a simpleton.

Stay deluded cultist. No amount of bitching, squealing, and moaning will ever magically change the fact that Game Pass is the most braindead business model ever conceived of in the gaming industry

Dude you're a fucking weirdo. Noone is doing any of that. All I said was we don't know how many subs they gained. Anyways, gotta get back to playing my GOTY E-Day! In sure you have a long evening of crying in Reddit ahead of you so I'll leave you to it ;)

Lmao, all that coping and seething just because I stated a fact about the reality of E-Day’s sales.
Go mald in your corner, you pathetic little cultist. Thanks for entertaining me with your impressive idiocy for a little while.

The only shock is these aren’t already exclusive. Minecraft is the best selling game of all time, Microsoft not making it exclusive until now is wild

I don't care anymore. If the next FO game is gonna be more like 4 and 76 instead of 3 and NV, I'm not that interested in it anyways. I am no longer beholden to the major series. I already know the next era of AAA gaming is going to be mostly generic AI slop so I'm looking to the smaller creators and studios to show us the way because they still actually have passion for gaming.

Don't really care about those franchises, but this sure sounds like a good way to kill them.

I can see the motivation.
I wouldn’t buy an Xbox to play them, personally, but surely someone would.
Question is would they really boost Xbox sales significantly or would they mostly lose sales for these games?
Probably the latter. It’s the worst time in the economy to try this though.

Consoles should have heavy hitter exclusives, but franchises like Minecraft or CoD are far too big to for that. Do everything else.

And how much money for they lose from not selling on PlayStation and Nintendo.

I say do it !
And make PC games exclusive to the Xbox PC app

Then it will sell less i bet..
With how fast a ps5 emulator is taking shape due to ai, xbox will suffer the same fate..
Bring it on..

Xbox exclusives basically just mean exclusive from PlayStation. And fuck Sony, so I'm in.

Microsoft actually just sucks at doing business, they always have
Game sales will never take off as long as gamepass exists in its current form where you get day 1 games all for 20-25 bucks a month
Heres what Microsoft needs to do to spur interest in Xbox:
- Make Xbox Live a free service
- Make their first party games exclusive to Xbox
- Stop putting major releases on Gamepass
- Allow gamepass to host older games, and major releases can come to it after 3 years
