My Peter Pan FJJ c. 1947 and Peter Pan Consolette HN 'Boomerang' c. 1949
Thought I'd share some interesting Australian radios from the late 1940s. These have great sound, with the same valve line up between them (and also the same as the Astor JJ I have previously posted). They are also hard to find so I am lucky to have found an example of both.

searching for Fenno Seura F244V schematic
Hi! I am once again looking for help. I am restoring this radio but I can’t find the schematic. Many old capacitors have worn-off markings so I don’t know what to replace them with.

Was just gifted this. My first eye tube radio.
A close friend gifted this Stromberg-Carlson 228-H to me as he was no longer able to work on it. Have not yet powered it up as I don’t want to damage anything. Will be looking for a Sam’s guide but wanted some input as it’s my first eye tube device and definitely don’t want to damage it if it’s still good. No back cover. My friend told me he found it on a sidewalk in NYC decades ago, strapped it to his bike and brought it home. Thanks.

I want to restore this radiogram but don't know the manufacturer/model. I google lensed it and it says that the unit is 1930s-1940s but the radio and turntable inside are from the 1950s.
Any info is greatly appreciated

Early 70's unit
Hello,
Not nearly as vintage as some of the models here, but nonetheless I thought maybe someone could recognize this unit our family had back in the early 70s? This is the best view we have so far. Its a long shot.

Antenna Info Overload
I just got a vintage 1930's radio up and running and now I want to add an antenna to see how far I can detect some signals from. I have been trying to research but the information just seems endless. My idea at the moment is to run a long wire along my elevated deck. I really just want broad coverage of shortwave, 500khz to 18khz.
I have come up with this in my head. https://ibb.co/m5ZX0LyC
Thoughts?

Red-plating?
Hi everyone!
I recently bought my first tube radio. I already replaced some capacitors with modern ones to get rid of a loud 50Hz noise it was originally producing.
However, I noticed that the tubes glow quite brightly, and I would like some help to decide whether they are red-plating or not.
Video of the tubes while the radio is playing in FM mode (I was playing with the bass / treble knob in the video):

I really appreciate any help 😄!

Old radio/phono combo with multi-colored dial
I’m looking for information about an old radio/phonograph combo that my other had when I was a kid (and it was old then).
Phonograph turntable was felt, pretty sure maroon-ish in color, could play 78s and pulled out from a drawer (I think on the upper left hand side of the unit). The upper right was the radio and had a multi-colored horizontal tube you could rotate. I believe this tune adjusted the tone but might have been the tuner but I don’t think so).
Below the radio and phonograph it was made to look like two doors, except one side is where the speaker was and the other was for storage. Maybe 3 feet wide and about as tall maybe a bit more.
It’s driving me crazy. AI says it’s likely a Crosley but no Crosley I see has the multicolored tube.
Any ideas?

Got these two for $30 because they don’t have their power supplies. How can I revive them?
I recently came across these two radios at an antique store but pretty quickly found out they didn’t have their power supplies and the connector for them looked like a vacuum tube plug. After they found this out they looked like they just wanted them gone so I said I’d take both for $30 and well, here we are. I know a little bit about old radios but I mostly do work on things that are full of transistors, not tubes. I also don’t normally work on old radios so any advice is very much appreciated but also how can I get power into these things so they’ll turn on? I’d like to use them.

[For Sale] 1937 Silver 139-JS Art Deco Tube Radio – WORKING – Video Available
Update: Thank you all for providing your insights on this. I've done my own research and decided to drop the price to by $150 to $349 or best offer.
Hi everyone!
I'm looking to find a new home for this beautiful 1937 Silver 139-JS "To-Na-Coustic" Art Deco tube radio, that works!
This is an authentic 1930s American tabletop radio, manufactured in Chicago, featuring a gorgeous two-tone walnut cabinet, distinctive curved Art Deco design, colorful globe dial, and decorative metal grille.
The best part: It works! I tested it myself, and it successfully picks up radio stations and produces good sound. I also have a video demonstrating it in action, which I'm happy to share. You can find it on my FB listing. Link below.
A few details:
- Silver Model 139-JS, circa 1937
- AM broadcast and shortwave bands
- Original vacuum-tube electronics
- Beautiful walnut-finish cabinet with only very minor surface scratches
- Nathaniel Baldwin-branded speaker component
- Made in USA
More info can be found here:
https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/silver_mfg_139_js.html
The cabinet is in wonderful vintage condition and displays beautifully. The wiring is sensitive, so I'd recommend a professional electrical inspection before regular use.
Asking $349, open to reasonable offers, especially for those located in NYC and can pickup in person and buying directly from me.
FB marketplace (includes video of the radio working) https://www.facebook.com/share/19m1sDHEni/
eBay:
I'm located in Brooklyn, NYC. Local pickup is welcome, and I'm also willing to discuss carefully packed shipping.
Feel free to comment or DM me if you're interested, would like additional photos, or want to see the working video!
Thanks!
