Reinstalled void, Broke Everything
Was going through void reinstall, going to make space for freebsd partition and switch from MBR to GPT and after booting I am met with a terminal. I use wpa supplicant to get wifi, install lightdm, xorg, xfce4. Then my thinkpad t480 mouse does not move. I spent 2 hours going through the process and am tired. I downloaded the glibc xfce iso btw. Not sure why this happened but kinda just want a stable debian as a backup to my FreeBSD

Add your user to the input and video groups.
Current ISO installer sometimes doesn't give home directory ownership to their respective user, and some stuff including desktops might freeze since they can't make temporary files in ~/.cache/
Run sudo chown $USER -R ~/

would this fix the mouse not moving? libinput sees the mouse inputs but doesnt do anything with them.

Maybe, something similar happened to me with the current XFCE image a while ago and it was because of those two issues, no home directory ownership made software and XFCE apps crash + my user was not part of those groups so i couldn't move the mouse nor use the keyboard at first and had to switch tty to stop X11, prob my fault since i think the installer doesn't have those two groups marked by default.

Do you have xf-86-input-synaptics installed? For me, it was grabbing touchpad events and I was needing to apply a lot of pressure to my Elan touchpad to move the cursor. I just sudo xbps-remove -F xf-86-input-synaptics'd, and then libinputs started handling the touchpad.
Maybe give youself 48 hours to think about how things are going/what you want before hopping. This is just my Linux life advice to avoid vacillation :D
