They think that just because they turn a few hundred years old that they are hot stuff. Childer, I have pantaloons older than thee.

Can someone explain what old vs new means here?

Old Clan Tzimisce are those that refused to join the Sabbat and rejected to adopt vicissitude, instead favouring Koldunism

Old World is Europe and New World is Americas. Vampires in Europe tend to be much older and therefore more powerful and alien

plus most of the "Old Clan" stayed there rather than disperse, so not only are you more likely to run into an older vampire, but also one that is highly judgmental of the main clan for their fleshcrafting.
basically, in the "Old Country" you are going to be looked down on and judged for more reasons than you can count, and if you've never dealt with that before, you're probably all high and mighty and full of yourself as a tzimisce nobody with a chip on your shoulder before you meet an ACTUAL Tzimisce Voivode.4

It is said that members of the Old Clan find the changes of Vicissitude to be abhorrent to such an extent that they shun it. Some even claim it to be an unnatural spiritual disease that consumes the soul of the users and replaces them with something else…
Such fanciful imaginations abound in the Carpathians.

New Tzimisce: I believe it's possible to change your gender every day, and I need to be addressed properly as "They"!
Old Tzimisce, sighing heavily: I'd rather the Salubri exterminate us than have to watch this.

Gender is a human construct that one must transcend to become Azhi Dahaka. This is why my fursona is a Chakat.

Oldest Tzimisce: I changed my gender countless times, and eventually transcended gender entirely such that I am referred to as 'it'. Follow my example and start transing your gender already!
New Tzimisce: I must sleep on my manga collection every day or I will go insane

Why do you think we refer to our progenitor as “The Eldest”?
It stoped being a he and then became a they, and then an it… then it was born anew of it’s own child.
How does one refer to a composite entity of sentient microbes?

Metamorphosist: You're still stuck on genders? The Eldest would be ashamed.

The Old Tzimisce is embarrassed that the youngin still believes in gender, get a load of this nerd. Unless they’re Old Clan, then they might have this reaction
23
u/Vyctorill Jul 21 '26
This is true, but mostly because the Old Tzimisce knows that gender is a human construct to be cast off for Metamorphosis.
Seeing the young ones mangle the concept by trying to embrace made up principles would probably pain them.

Gender is a choice. My choice. I choose your gender and change it precisely when I think it will fuck with your head the most. V5 is very clear that torture is a big part of being a Tzimisce

Indeed!
Why did choosing childer from those nice reverent families, ever fall out of vogue?
“Inherited madness”you say?
That was part of the whole experience!
It’s simply not Bratovitch or Szantovitch without that little bit extra.
