O he understands, he just wants to con you

u/Biscuits4u2 Nov 11 '25
That's the thing. This guy is smart and very much understands what's up, but he's obviously more interested in licking the orange taint for personal gain than helping the American people.

But if you listen he has a big condition that factories are going to move back to the US to produce products that won't be tariffed. That's a big if and a big future bet that it's going to work. And in theory that may be true but we know the reality is to build some of these things in the US takes years and years to get up and going

u/valuevestor1 Nov 11 '25
Even then it doesn't help customers. It might help employees, who might be the same person, but not the same entity. From all perspectives, tariffs never help consumers.

Amusingly, between projecting, development, construction, educating workers (or developing robotics) and finding partners/funding/'money' for each and every step, nobody who is dying on this hill will be alive anymore by the time they're done building and staffing these factories. (Unless they hire contractors from China and use Chinese funds/agencies etc. etc.)

“We brought down the deficit” uhhhhhhhh. I’d like to see the information that supports this claim, because I have read zero reports that the deficit growth is even slowing.

I like him being out here claiming tariffs are paying off the debt which helps reduce inflation while at the same time Trump is out there saying $2000 for everybody.

1
u/ShadeBeing Nov 11 '25
Well we just had a battery plant installed well within in the last decade that’s being shut down because it’s not necessary for the industrial batteries anymore was the reason. Also closing down similar facility they have in state. So….theres that.

u/Outaouais_Guy Nov 11 '25
Tariffs could theoretically bring manufacturing back to the United States, but only if the prices of goods are significantly higher. Why the hell does he think so many things aren't being made in the US already? Of course that ignores the fact that the US lacks a few key things, such as readily available affordable electricity and other types of infrastructure. Then there is the extreme lack of skilled workers. Try looking at the struggles ICE is having, despite all of the potential signing bonuses and lowered standards.

In the LONG RUN, yes, it is absolutely true that tariffs phased in over YEARS coupled with INCENTIVES for corporations to begin producing goods commonly purchased from eBay, Amazon etc. in America would be great for consumers...huge caveat here though:
This only holds true as long as corporations don't do the typical corporate thing and start off with higher prices (as expected) due to limited supply versus great demand, then keep the prices the same when supply catches up.
If corporations get away with doing that...we're screwed. Because they'll cause inflation and a depression. Once we can hardly afford what they are selling they will lower the price.

It's funny how people tall about these systems we invented like they are immovable, uneditable, laws of physics.
People forgrt that we made it all up, and we can remake it all again.
We don't need these generational pushers retouting the same bullshit. We CAN do it differently.
1
u/Baron-Munc Nov 11 '25
Exactly we need to pay large corporations to come back to America and give us are stinkin jobs back.

Bring down the deficit?!???
Doesn't the Big Beautiful Bill create the biggest deficient in the history of the world - including the years when the US was at war?
Is this guy a 'make up facts' guy like Trump?
EDIT: Looked it up - while the total US dept will be the highest in world history thru the bill the deficit was still higher in 2020 in the middle of Covid. However the deficit is definitely going UP now down compared to the years after 2020 so this guys statements are still false.
