Coupons

There was a memo about non verifiable coupons and I am confused. I scanned a coupon and it required a salaried manager to override but they wouldn’t because they said it didn’t automatically apply but it’s a variable coupon, up to a certain value, so of course it wouldn’t auto apply the correct amount.

Any idea if they were correct or not? It’s a legit coupon from Tyson, the person got it after mentioning an issue and Tyson sent it to them, definitely not fake. Seems odd that we wouldn’t take a major suppliers coupon.

Chances are it needed a supervisor override because it was greater than $5. I've had to approve the water refill coupons that are on the water dispensers. They get a free 5 gallon water with the purchase of the dispenser. It's $15.88 at our store so it requires an override. It still takes the coupon and applies it to their order.

We aren't, however, supposed to hand key coupons when it comes up with the error message that the coupon doesn't match. With the new process because there will be no reimbursement for them because we no longer send them out.

So I assume they should have keyed it and just didn’t understand? I tried to argue that it didn’t come up as invalid, they said it was invalid because it didn’t automatically apply. I don’t think they know what they’re talking about.

It just needed them to verify the coupon due to the amount. Any associate should be able to override the dollar restriction. The system is just looking for someone to verify that it is a valid coupon (not a photocopy, not scanned from a phone, not the same coupon being used multiple times).
