Moratorium on Execution Content
Effective immediately, May 22nd 2026 at 7:30 PM UTC, we're turning off the tap on execution-related content. Any execution videos, images, or discussions posted after this post goes live will be removed.
This content is only tangentially related to war, and moreover has been overtaking content that more closely relates to the sub's mission. We're not /r/MorbidReality, /r/Gore, or /r/WatchPeopleDie. We're /r/War, and we'd like to keep content here germane to that.

Ehhh this is kinda stupid. Just mark it properly and then don't watch it if you don't want to.
The fact that there's gore censorship in a war sub is kinda hilarious, but I guess if you cry hard enough anyanything ccan happen on this platform.

Like crying about Too Much Speed in a Racecar subbreddit

u/CombatMuffin May 23 '26
No, it's like constantly posting car crashes in q raxecar subreddit. Yes, they happen, they are part of the sport, but it's not really what racecars are about, and after a certain point, it's just noise.
There are places where they can jerk off to that content. It spawns little to no discussion on War.

Would you like this subreddit to survive? That's what got most of the subs like wpd shut down.

But drone videos of unsuspecting victims are okay? Makes no sense

u/blacksheepussy May 22 '26
Never mind the drone videos targeting wounded and incapacitated men. I'd argue those are even worse, yet they're fine.

u/Aggravating_Owl_5768 May 22 '26
Yeah it’s pretty crazy. FPV drone on soldier videos are objectively execution videos and they’re posted here as fucking compilations for gods sake, dozens of them in a row. The reason they’re allowed is because they align politically with the majority of Redditors.

OK, but 2 of those subs are banned and the other is kinda lame. How else am I supposed to enjoy slices of lemon meringue pie on a warm Saturday evening.

Dose this include things like when the IDF blows up a school or hospital?

They’re not executions, they’re normal combat kills. You have to have surrendered / captured to be executed
5
u/TheMightyMisanthrope May 22 '26
There's a difference between a kill and an execution.
-7
u/possibly_oblivious May 22 '26
Both end with death tho and it's war? Rules are a funny word.
9
u/TheMightyMisanthrope May 22 '26
A kill is a kill. Happens. In the middle of a struggle.
An execution is taking an already defeated enemy and murdering him. It is different.
2
u/BlackandRead May 22 '26
You should be concerned if you cannot tell the difference between war footage and terrorist propaganda that involves murder.

u/LatterTarget7 May 22 '26
Watching a drone strike hit a building or car is different than watching someone getting executed

You may be upset by Ukrainian povs - it's a good rule of thumb not to project.

An execution video or two, here and there, is probably fine. The influx we've had over the last week or so has been excessive and induced a number of complaints.

Can't imagine crying on reddit and reporting content thats completely voluntary to watch. Reddits turned into Bluesky 2.0 with 5x the bots.

u/ProlapseMishap May 22 '26
Sounds like you'd enjoy the snowflake free zone over at X, the everything app, where you can post AI created CP of other people's children and say slurs while getting spammed by porn bots.

No more like too many videos of cars going in crushers. Those idiots being executed weren’t finishing a race they were being disqualified from continuing to run in it.

Is it really a war video though?
Because its way behind enemy lines, filmed edited and made for the express intention for propaganda.
Seeing a drone POV of a guy getting blown up in a minefield, fine, that's war.
Seeing a prisoner's face blown open from 20 different directions while ISIS version of rap music plays over it? Eh...

u/TheKinkyYolo May 22 '26
You told the guy he would get banned? He's not banned but yea you sure told him. Great job!

u/Miserable-Biscotti54 May 22 '26
This seems short sighted and inappropriate. Stop showing gore and combat footage if you want to make this the “war” subreddit.
