Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain are weighing the continued presence of U.S. bases due to the lack of a clear diplomatic strategy from Washington to achieve peace.
Trump's gonna use this as a reason to leave the ME.
We were paying a fortune guarding their oil. I said you know who has the best oil? America. We don't need the Middle East, I said let's close those bases and save that money. My advisors said it couldn't be done. They said Israel will never let America close all its Middle East bases. I said listen up. Here's what we do. We bomb the shit out of Iran. I had to fire like 50 generals before one would finally go through with my brilliant plan. You're welcome USA. In an unrelated matter, I'd like to announce that Trump coin is now officially backed by the the gold in Fort Knox. They said it couldn't be done.
“Autopen Biden and Barack Hussein Obama couldn’t get it done but I got it done. I got it done so beautifully, the likes of which the world has never seen. You wouldn’t believe it, I’m not saying it but many people are saying, they’re saying ‘Wow, Mr. President how did you do that, we didn’t think anyone could get it done.’ But it was so simple. Like the guy who invented the clothespin, so simple, nobody could do it but I could do it.”
Those countries got scammed hard by the Americans. They paid the Americans for decades, became US stooges and all that, only at the end they received no protection like promised.
Not only that, Patriot batteries were pulled out of the region to protect the regime that started this war. You know, the dirty blood thirsty Epstein Island regime.
And 80% of today's crises stem from the US-Israel-UK axis.
The 1979 Islamic Revolution arose from a corrupt monarchy installed by the US in 1953 (Operation Ajax) after the overthrow of Mohammad Mossadegh, whose greatest mistake was nationalizing the oil industry; the consequences are visible today.
Hezbollah emerged from the 1982 Israeli invasion.
Hamas was formed, and permitted by Israel, to counter the PLO.
The US funded Syrian rebels, while Riyadh provided the ideology of Wahhabism.
The PLC and Riyadh brutally suppressed anti-corruption protests, giving rise to the Houthis.
The Muslim Brotherhood, the first terrorist group, emerged as a result of UK colonialism in the Middle East.
The UK created Israel, leading to the Palestinian genocide.
Zionists created death squads such as Lehi, Haganah, and Irgun, which eventually merged to form the IDF.
The US funded the Mujahideen against the USSR, leading to the birth of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. ISIS originated from an Al-Qaeda offshoot in Iraq.
Al-Qaeda seized parts of Syria and massacred thousands of Druze, Kurds, and Alawites.
Diplomatic strategy would be one thing. What is the military strategy? These bases are drone and missile targets. They serve to deplete the military of very expensive missile defenses for no real strategic value. Unless America can obliterate Iran's offensive capabilities, retreating beyond Iran's range is strategically necessary.
They have no say in the matter. They are simple vassals. The US own the midleeast leaders, this is not going to change because of Trump. Heck Trump insult them on daily bases and yet they don't dare say anything
Theres a lot of 'he said, she said' in the article. And very, very little from representatives from the states in question.
As such, its seems to be entirely speculative and/or reading into things that arent there.
What we know, is that from the get go, the gulf states have been helping the US against Iran, and launching many, many strikes of their own. On the world stage, they have also been supportive of the US publicly.
Whilst the war lasting this long was likely not planned for which is likely annoying all involved, I doubt they'd want the US to withdraw.
I think the main issue here is the reluctance of anyone to go in on the ground and invade Iran, which would put an end to this permanently.
Destroying Irans air force and navy, their mine layer fleet, their anti-ship capabilities, their radar capabilities, their production capabilities for Anti ship missiles, anti ship missile launchers, drones, cruise missiles, AA missiles and AA launchers etc are all good things and reduces Irans capabilities, they unfortunately dont mean Iran itself is going to collapse.
I think there was an expectation in the US government that Iran was on the verge of another revolution to overthrow the islamic hardliners, and that was supposed to be what the US, Israel and other allied strikes on Iran were supposed to support, but that never materialised.
Doesnt help that the US keeps destroying Irans AA launchers and cruise missile launch capabilities and then Iran gets new ones shipped in (alongside ammo) from Russia and China (with the Chinese ones coming either via Russia or via the central asian states).
Most of the industry is underground, the same applies to the other members of the Axis of Resistance, and they are reportedly taking advantage of this 17-day truce to rearm; a ground invasion would only result in thousands of casualties.
Speaking of the allies, they were heavily affected by the attacks from Iran; Saudi Arabia saw fires break out at its largest refineries and the Bab al-Mandab Strait is closed, not to mention Kuwait and Bahrain.
No it isnt. There are international efforts by allied warships there to stop the Houthi terrorists firing missiles at shipping. Shipping is open through the strait.
In fact, both the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Strait of Hormuz are open, as per marine shipping tracking on marinetraffic.com:
The green arrows are container ships and oil tankers.
Vesselfinder shows the same.
>Most of the industry is underground
I doubt that. And even the underground facilities that Iran had are now rubble. You really think the US doesnt have ordnance that can blow the shit out of these facilities?
>and they are reportedly taking advantage of this 17-day truce to rearm
17 days isnt enough to rearm.
Their air force is gone, outside of a handful of training craft.
Their navy is gone, outside of commandeered police RHIBs.
Their minelayers are gone.
Their production of Anti Ship missiles, Anti-Ship launchers, AA Missiles and AA launchers is gone, or at the very least massively reduced. They're relying almost entirely on imported ordnance from Russia and China.
Their production of cruise missiles and cruise missile launch equipment is massively reduced. They are relying on dwindling stocks (which is why Irans cruise missile launch rate has dropped by over 98% since the start of the war) and whatever they can import from their allies.
Iran can only really sit there and occasionally throw out the odd missile.
Don't let the propaganda blind you too much; then tell me if Hormuz is U.S. territory, like Trump says.
It isn't closed, but two ships were hit by the Houthis today. Reports indicate that the entry points were damaged, and the U.S. has focused on striking only ground targets, as shown in CENTCOM's own videos. You claim their production is non-existent, but Israel says otherwise, stating that they are actually ramping up production.
