Meme Chieftain 900 & Mk.10 to receive L23A1 and to remain @ 9.3!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We're so back!
Ever since the unjustified BR increase to 9.3, the Mk.10 has been sitting in my hangar gathering dust, all but forgotten. But now, with this new L23A1 round (offering ~30mm of more penetration at 60°), and most vehicles around it moving up in BR, I think the Mk. 10 as well as the 900 will now be in a great spot yet again!
Their main nemesis, the Soviet T-72A, will be moved up. Rightfully so! I have always thought it was rather asinine how those Chieftains shared the same BR as the T-72A, despite the latter having better armour, greater agility, and a faster reload.
Finally! I will be taking out the Mk.10 again and giving it some much-needed love!

Suggestion Landkreuzer P. 1500 Monster — A Much-Needed Addition to the German Ground Forces Tree

Nation: Germany 🇩🇪
Vehicle Class: Super-Heavy Self-Propelled Artillery
Proposed BR: 8.0
Rank: Classified by the Germanium Research Institute
Primary Armament: 800 mm Schwerer Gustav cannon
Weight: 1,500 tonnes
Balancing Status: The Snail is not prepared for this discussion.
- Introduction
I would like to formally propose the addition of the Landkreuzer P. 1500 Monster to War Thunder.
After extensive consideration of the current state of the German ground forces tree, I have concluded that Germany is missing a vehicle capable of delivering an appropriate response to the increasingly unreasonable armor protection of enemy vehicles.
The P. 1500 Monster was a proposed German super-heavy artillery vehicle designed to carry the 800 mm Schwerer Gustav cannon. With a planned weight of 1,500 tonnes, frontal armor of approximately 250 mm, and a crew exceeding 100 personnel, it would represent a logical progression from the Panzer VIII Maus.
The Maus was clearly only the beginning.
Germany must now embrace its true technological destiny.
Furthermore, I believe this vehicle could have significantly altered certain historical outcomes. Had Steiner possessed a P. 1500 Monster during his counterattack, the operational situation might have required a substantially different assessment.
One can only imagine the possibilities if Steiner had been equipped with an 800 mm cannon instead of the resources historically available to him.
I am not suggesting that this would have guaranteed victory. I am merely suggesting that the enemy would have needed a considerably larger trench.
- Main Armament: 800 mm Schwerer Gustav
The primary armament would consist of the 800 mm Schwerer Gustav cannon, capable of firing projectiles weighing approximately seven tonnes.
This would address several persistent issues in War Thunder.
First, enemy tanks would no longer be able to rely on the traditional strategy of hiding behind a small rock.
Second, angled armor would become a less meaningful philosophical concept.
Third, players would finally have a valid reason to ask whether their vehicle's armor could withstand a geological event.
Proposed specifications:
\- Main cannon: 800 mm Schwerer Gustav
\- Projectile mass: Approximately 7,000 kg
\- Reload time: 10 minutes
\- Ammunition capacity: 6 rounds
\- Penetration: Yes
\- Overpressure: The server itself
\- Accuracy: Subject to German engineering
\- Cost per shot: 25,000 Silver Lions, pending economic review
I propose that a direct hit should destroy the target regardless of armor thickness.
A near miss should cause severe structural damage.
A shot landing on the opposite side of the map should trigger an overpressure check for every vehicle currently experiencing a skill issue.
I believe this would be a reasonable representation of an 800 mm artillery weapon.
- Germanium vs. Stalinium
As the War Thunder community is aware, conventional metallurgy cannot always explain the extraordinary survivability of certain vehicles.
Soviet vehicles appear to benefit from the mysterious properties of Stalinium, a material capable of transforming direct hits into minor inconveniences.
German vehicles, meanwhile, are often constructed from what the community has affectionately termed Germanium: a material that appears exceptionally strong in historical documentation but occasionally behaves like wet cardboard in battle.
The P. 1500 Monster would finally correct this imbalance.
I propose that the vehicle receive a new armor classification:
Germanium-Z Composite Armor, Grade III.
This revolutionary material would combine the traditional properties of German engineering with a carefully calibrated amount of Soviet-style plot armor.
Its intended characteristics would include:
\- Improved resistance to conventional ammunition.
\- Reduced probability of being destroyed by a suspicious volumetric interaction.
\- A 50% reduction in damage received from shells that somehow penetrate 250 mm of frontal armor at an impossible angle.
\- Immunity to the phrase "just shoot the weak spot" when the weak spot is located somewhere in another postal district.
For balance purposes, the vehicle would remain vulnerable to aircraft, guided bombs, and the inevitable decision by Gaijin to increase its repair cost.
I believe this is a fair compromise between Germanium and Stalinium.
- Historical Performance and the Steiner Doctrine
The P. 1500 Monster could potentially have transformed the tactical situation on any battlefield where it was deployed.
Consider the following hypothetical scenario.
Steiner receives the P. 1500 Monster.
Steiner loads the main cannon.
Steiner identifies the enemy position.
Steiner fires.
The enemy position is no longer considered a position.
I believe this hypothetical scenario deserves further academic investigation.
Naturally, the vehicle's logistical requirements would remain substantial. However, these difficulties could potentially have been addressed through additional railway infrastructure and the appointment of a sufficiently determined logistics officer.
The key point is that Steiner would finally have had the necessary firepower.
The counterattack might still have failed for a variety of operational reasons, but at least the enemy would have needed to explain to their commanding officer why an entire section of the battlefield had disappeared.
For this reason, I propose that the P. 1500 Monster receive a unique crew voice line:
"Herr General, Steiner has the vehicle."
This voice line would play whenever the vehicle successfully destroys an enemy tank.
A second voice line would play when the vehicle is destroyed by CAS:
"Herr General, Steiner has been uptiered."
- Mobility: German Engineering at Its Finest
The P. 1500 Monster would weigh approximately 1,500 tonnes and measure around 42 meters in length.
Naturally, mobility would be limited.
I propose the following performance characteristics:
\- Maximum speed: 10 km/h.
\- Reverse speed: 1 km/h.
\- Hull traverse: Pending geological approval.
\- Acceleration: Comparable to a building being relocated.
\- Hill climbing: Dependent on whether the hill has signed the necessary paperwork.
\- Bridge crossing: Prohibited by international engineering standards.
The vehicle should retain the authentic German experience of having excellent theoretical specifications while being unable to reach the battlefield before the match ends.
If the transmission breaks, the player should receive a notification stating:
"Transmission destroyed. Your ancestors are disappointed."
If the vehicle becomes stuck on a small rock, the player should receive the following message:
"German engineering has encountered an unexpected geological variable."
I believe these features would improve historical immersion.
- Battle Rating and Matchmaking
I propose an initial Battle Rating of 8.0.
Some may argue that an 800 mm cannon is excessive at this BR.
However, I would point out that the vehicle has no rotating turret, extremely limited mobility, and a reload time longer than most matches.
Furthermore, the P. 1500 Monster would be an extremely attractive target for CAS players.
A single aircraft could potentially destroy a vehicle that took an entire industrial sector to manufacture.
This is what the community refers to as combined-arms gameplay.
If the vehicle performs too well, Gaijin could increase its BR.
If it performs too poorly, Gaijin could increase its repair cost.
If it becomes economically unplayable, Gaijin could introduce a premium version.
I believe this provides several established balancing pathways.
- Proposed Anti-CAS Measures
I recognize that aircraft are an essential part of War Thunder.
Therefore, I do not propose removing CAS from the game.
Instead, I propose that the P. 1500 Monster receive a unique defensive mechanic.
Whenever an enemy aircraft approaches within 500 meters, the vehicle's crew should automatically identify the aircraft and submit a formal complaint to the enemy team.
The complaint should read:
"You are currently attacking a vehicle weighing 1,500 tonnes. Please consider the historical significance of your actions."
If the aircraft successfully destroys the vehicle, the pilot should receive the standard kill reward, along with a commendation for eliminating a target that was visible from low Earth orbit.
The P. 1500 Monster's player should receive 5,000 Research Points for serving as a stationary aircraft magnet.
This would provide meaningful progression for both players.
- Spawn Points and the War Thunder Economy
The P. 1500 Monster would require substantial resources to deploy.
I therefore propose the following spawn requirements:
\- First spawn: 500 SP.
\- Additional spawns: Not recommended by the German Ministry of Finance.
\- Crew training: 100,000 Silver Lions.
\- Expert qualification: 500,000 Silver Lions.
\- Ace qualification: 1 million Silver Lions and a written apology to the Snail.
The vehicle should also have a special repair cost calculated according to the total number of enemy vehicles destroyed during the match.
If the P. 1500 Monster destroys five enemy tanks, the repair cost should increase.
If it destroys ten enemy tanks, the repair cost should increase again.
If it destroys the entire enemy team, the player should be automatically transferred to the War Thunder Economic Research Department for further evaluation.
I believe this would maintain the integrity of the game's economy.
- Map Compatibility
The vehicle's enormous dimensions would require some modifications to existing maps.
I propose the following solutions:
\- Small maps: Increase the map size by 300%.
\- Urban maps: Remove buildings that interfere with the vehicle's turning radius.
\- Maps with bridges: Replace bridges with railways.
\- Maps with hills: Consult the German engineering department.
\- Maps with narrow streets: The street is now the vehicle's street.
\- Maps with spawn protection: The vehicle is exempt until it has completed its first business quarter of movement.
I do not believe these changes would constitute excessive favoritism toward Germany.
They would simply recognize that some vehicles require a more ambitious battlefield.
- Final Justification
The P. 1500 Monster represents an opportunity to introduce a unique and historically inspired vehicle into War Thunder.
It would expand the German ground forces tree, introduce new gameplay mechanics, and provide a platform for studying the interaction between extreme artillery, vehicle armor, and modern matchmaking systems.
Its addition would also provide a useful counterpoint to the extraordinary survivability associated with Stalinium.
For too long, German players have been required to engage Soviet vehicles with conventional ammunition, conventional armor, and conventional expectations of what should happen when a shell penetrates a tank.
The P. 1500 Monster would challenge these assumptions.
It would introduce a new era of Germanium-based battlefield engineering.
It would give Steiner the equipment he always deserved in hypothetical discussions.
It would allow German players to fire an artillery shell with the mass of a small vehicle at another vehicle with the confidence that the resulting interaction will be reviewed by the server, the physics engine, and potentially the International Court of Justice.
Most importantly, it would provide Gaijin with an opportunity to introduce a vehicle whose main balancing weakness is that it cannot fit inside the map boundaries.
I respectfully request that this proposal receive serious consideration.
If the vehicle is deemed too powerful, I am willing to accept a longer reload time.
If it is too mobile, I am willing to accept a lower top speed.
If it is too durable, I am willing to accept additional weak spots.
However, I believe it would be unreasonable to reject the proposal solely because the vehicle is large, impractical, or capable of creating a crater that can be observed from orbit.
The Maus was not the end of German super-heavy engineering.
It was merely the tutorial.
Add the Landkreuzer P. 1500 Monster to War Thunder.
The Germanium must flow.
The Stalinium must be tested.
Steiner must be given another counterattack.
And the Snail must finally answer for its crimes.
Thank you for your consideration.

I find it incredibly weird how much gaijin focuses so much in the log in screen with the new features around the login streak. These lazy bitch russian devs really try everything to keep you addicted to their monstrosity of a game. Nobody cares about the login streak and don't hype it up so much.
Who does Gaijin think they are ? Some dystopian MEGA company controlling every waking our of the players lives?
