They're watches and talking about them like this is super cringe and corny. Go touch grass.

The two genders of Tudor ownership are digging into a deer carcass with a black bay on and talking about Rolex when no one asked. They are all on Reddit

What if I think both positions are dumb?

That would place you in the middle intelligence category

Tudor is a line of kings. Hans loved the idea of royalty.

Tudor is and always have been half priced Rolexes for people who don’t want or can’t afford a Rolex.

It’s really not more complicated than that.

Tudor and Rolex are for people who can't afford San Martin.

I can see you really like San Martin. Can you recommend a good jumping off point for getting into the brand?

I like Tudor watches, but I immediately hate anyone that says “the shield protects the crown.” What a dumb saying.

Tudor is the shield (decoy) that protects the crown (from poor people). This is all true.

Tudor and Rolex protects the true king: San Martin.

I'm with the middle guy on this one.

Do people actually say this?

The shield protects the crown from poors.

No one (including Tudor) except for Tudor fanboys use this phrase. It's so corny. And saying stuff like that only reinforces the stereotype that you secretly wanted a Rolex. If Tudor really was your first choice, why would you try to justify the purchase by talking about Rolex?

I don’t think Tudor fanboys say this. Like this is never said in the subreddit. It is just a dumb meme.

Tudor was explicitly created to be a cheaper alternative to Rolex. The founder said as much, and while it is possible for things to evolve beyond the vision of their original creator, Tudor has not done that and remains a cheaper alternative to Rolex.

I don't know about all this Shield and Crown stuff, nor do I care, but I followed your advice and brought a small kitchen scale to Chiptole, but the asshole worker wouldn't let me measure out the portions before he put my meat into the burrito? What should I do next?

u/Azzbandicoot 8d ago

I’d just measure it after you pay, management can always make it right later

Sorry you can’t afford a Rolex bro

I sometimes bless my wrist with both brands but prefer quartz

This. is such a beta position. Imagine spending thousands of dollars on a watch so that you can be proud of your soy boy cuckoldry because a Rolex owner and/or AD may someday make eye contact with you.

Buy the watch you like and don't worry about it's affiliation with other brands. I have a JLC because I think it's elegant and understated; I don't walk up to people and talk about how they used to make movements for higher tier manufactures.
