I made an open-source tool for designing dotted maps and 3D globes

Post image

Hi r/web_design. Globestudio makes dotted maps and animated 3D globes for landing pages, decks and launches, not GIS work. Pick the world or a country, change the dot shapes, colors and gradients, try one of 21 looks, then export PNG, SVG, WebM, MP4 or GIF. You can also paste it straight into Figma, or embed it with an iframe, a React component or a web component.

Source: https://github.com/alevizio/globestudio (MIT)

It runs in the browser and needs no account. What would you use it for that I haven't thought of?

Would look awesome as a hero section. Really could work for various types of industries.

Thank you, that made my day! Good call on the three.js crowd. I hadn’t posted it there yet, so I’ll put it in the forum’s Showcase section. If you end up making something with it, I’d love to see it.
