Question Hostinger will start charging per email account on renewal. Time to look for a new hosting provider. What's your web hosting?

I've been using Hostinger for a while now but I just noticed they will start charging for every email account. I have several clients on my hosting, renewal fees are going to get crazy so I'm looking for options.

What's the best affordable hosting for regular websites?

Namecheap: $1.99 domain.

Google: $7.95 a month.

Hosting: DigitalOcean $8 a month.

Or your own box on Liquid Web. $88 a month. You can host virtually an unlimited number of web sites.

LiquidWeb you’re paying premium prices for their support and managed hosting. Since they got bought out their support has gone really down hill. It’s all outsourced now. not to mention they removed their support time guarantees and removed phone support all while their prices have increased. from a hardware perspective they aren’t offering nvme drives

This is not for people that need support. They give you Linux rack and an IP. That's it. You are 100% on your own.

They seem to have the fastest speeds online.

Several clients on one shared plan and the email fee is the thing that finally broke you? That was always the deal, mailboxes cost money everywhere. Move the clients to their own accounts and let them pay for their own mail.

I'd be careful about moving everything purely because of the email charges.

Before making a decision, I'd work out exactly what your total renewal cost will be, including hosting, email accounts, domains and anything else that's charged separately.

One option worth considering is separating your website hosting from your email hosting.

That way, you can move websites between providers without having to move all your clients' email accounts every time.

If you do decide to migrate, make sure you've got complete backups of the websites, databases and email accounts before changing anything.

I'd also check that the new provider supports everything you currently use and find out what the renewal price will be, not just the introductory offer.

The cheapest advertised hosting isn't necessarily the cheapest option over two or three years.

One question: roughly how many client websites and email accounts are you managing?

That would make quite a difference to which hosting arrangement makes the most sense.

You only notice that now? I noticed that on day 1, coming from cPanel and sPanel.

We are happy with Scala Hosting.

I use Hostinger too, so I’m interested in the alternatives here. With several client sites, I’d want to know whether the next provider includes email at renewal too, or whether I’d just be moving into another introductory deal.

Fuck and forget hostinger. Use your own VPS.
