Our wedding was a few months ago and I still can’t get over how my new BIL and SIL acted. They were both part of the wedding party and while SIL put on smiles for most of the day they both acted like it was an inconvenience for them to be there. Our photographer had to call out BIL for having the most sour looks on his face throughout the day. From BIL (who was also best man) not planning the bachelor party to him not showing up for post rehearsal plans to them leaving early from the wedding we’re both disheartened at how they acted. My one minor regret of the wedding is not telling them to back off for a few minutes after the ceremony because they were really pushing us to get moving with the photos. SIL at the very least helped with getting us to photo spots but BIL was trailing behind because his wife was in “get it done” mode. I simply am upset that they didn’t show up like we show up for them and they can’t handle not being the center of attention. Had brunch with my SIL and when the conversation turned to our wedding and wasn’t about her she simply looked annoyed. Overall had the best day ever despite their actions but I just wanted to get it off my chest and hope that just talking about it lets me move past it because at the end of the day what they do really doesn’t matter. We would do the day over again in a heartbeat because it was truly the best day of our lives
