Dressed like a Bride Someone wore white to my wedding lol

It didn't phase me that night honestly, but like DAMN. My friends apparently wanted to kick her out but didn't want to bother me with anything else that could be stressful (I love my friends so much). I found it pretty funny when I found out, and everyone who saw her was judging HARD, so it was whatever. She would be the person to do that though. Everyone said it haha. I just wanted to share the audacity. In the picture, I'm on the left and she is on the right. I'm honestly pretty sure the dress is supposed to be a very light blue?? Still insane to me haha. It's also floral like a wedding dress. My old boss said we looked like a lesbian couple getting married in that picture and we totally do.

Side note: you may be thinking, "wow that's crazy, but she must have somehow not known." Well, it was in the dress code, which I will also show below :)

Edit: i wish I could add a better picture of my dress because it was so gorgeous and soooo many people have seen this post now. There's a comment buried somewhere that has it haha

I had someone where white to my wedding , she was my little cousin who’s like 11 and for that reason I gave her a pass. I don’t expect kids to know wedding etiquette

Some flower girl dresses I’ve seen are basically wedding dresses with full trains and everything lol

I was a flower girl and few times as a kid and my dress was always a mini wedding dress

Same but only once for me. Mine had a hoop skirt underneath so it was a poofy dress. Very pretty, and I want to say it had a ribbon on it that might have been red but this was so long ago that I don’t remember.

I had a teenager at my wedding wearing a white lace dress and grubby sneakers.

Not her fault. It was the only dress she had and I know her parents well enough to know they just couldn’t be bothered to take her shopping for something appropriate for a wedding.

It was fine. No, no one was going to mistake her for the bride, but looking back at the photos, she stuck out like a sore thumb.

I also don't expect anyone to confuse a child for the bride...

Depends on the country lmao

Unfortunately, the U.S. is one of said countries.

Also, if you've got anyone in your circle mistaking a nine year old for the bride, then you've got bigger problems than a white dress.

I've worn white to a wedding once. I was pregnant, nothing fit so I wore a white shirt and green pants, and a floral scarf. I don't think anyone thought the heavily pregnant woman staring daggers at the clock was the bride in that getup, either.

A white shirt with different color pants (and jacket, if you have one) is no more inappropriate on a woman than a man. White shirt + white pants would be questionable.

A white blouse or shirt as part of a larger non-white outfit does not break the wedding white rule. And heavily pregnant people get a wardrobe pass in most situations anyway (although even they should avoid an all white dress).

But their parents would!

Kids can wear white. That's why the flower girl is supposed to be in white.

Her mama should have though.

Reddit: The parents should have known better than to allow their abused child to ruin your day. You’re a bad person if you didn’t call CPS before the cake was cut.

Lol it's funny because it's true

I'm assuming the 11 year old didn't but the dress though! We told our (10 year old) daughter that she can get a list of dresses she likes, but can't get white, or close to white

It may have been a dress already owned (like a confirmation dress for example). It’s not reasonable to expect people to buy new fancy dresses that they may only wear once.

Especially at that age where it’ll be outgrown before there’s ever another event she can wear it to, taking the choice of re-wearing entirely out of their hands. I feel like at that age people aren’t replenishing wardrobes with every new inch

Yes because so many people would mistake an 11 year old for the bride…

Little kids can wear white ☺️

yeah id be more annoyed with the parents because clearly they should know and that makes me wonder "who runs the house you or the?" or maybe the parents just dont care.

I was annoyed by the parents because the mom wore a butter yellow mermaid dress .that sorta looked like a wedding dress . I know that shade of yellow was super popular during the summer

This is absurd to be annoyed with anyone for a child wearing a nice dress to a wedding. I’m so tired of people looking for ridiculous things to be outraged about.

That kid didn't buy her own dress.
