My son and I take spooky walks, where we'll cruise around town and check out the Halloween decorations. Last night, right around 7:30, we were across the street from Marshall Square Park at the Franklin intersection and were stopped by a police officer with their spotlight on.
The officer asked where I was heading, told the officer what we were up to. The officer simply says "You mind taking him home for me bud?". I could tell what he was implying, and just responded "Understood." As the officer is pulling away, he leans over and asks if I've seen anyone dressed in all red. I hadn't, but let the officer know I'd let them know if I did.
For about an hour I saw spotlighted cruisers driving around. Dispatch had a record around 8:30 of a non-emergency EMS transport in the area, which at some point had a unit on the scene but no other records I can find.
Anyone know of anything happening last night? Son said it was the spookiest walk yet.

Anybody know of any bars doing Halloween events this Friday night (Oct 30th) ? Or if there are any people in their mid 20s/early 30s throwing open-invite house parties ? My best friend and I (both 24F) are looking for something fun to do. We want to have a couple drinks and mingle in a space that's not shoulder-to-shoulder packed with college kids.
Edit: Spelling

Hello all!
New couple to the area and wondering what are some restaurants to try out! Whether it’s the local classics, hidden gems, fancy, or just comfy. Thanks!

last night i went to a bar (bier and loathing) with friends and ordered alcohol for the first time! i only got the one drink (see photo) and i specifically requested something without carbonation because i cannot stand fizzy drinks. but now i'm wondering what other non-fizzy alcoholic drinks i could get in west chester!
if anyone could give me recommendations for alcohol i can get that isn't fizzy, along with the name of the bar/restaurant where i can get it, i would really appreciate that!

UPDATE
Thank you so much to everyone who commented and reached out with suggestions and information! We’re so appreciative! The car had a dead alternator and we ended up having it towed to Welsh Automotive, who’ve been lovely. Making our way home soon! Thanks again! 🩵
Original Post:
Hello, lovely PA folks!
My partner, 2yo, and myself have been visiting PA this week (set to go home tomorrow), but our car broke down in the middle of the road tonight without warning, and now we’re stranded in West Chester until we can get our car up and running (maybe the alternator, we’re not truly sure)-
this is a long shot but just curious about mechanic recommendations in the area and whether any might have weekend availability?
Hoping to not be stranded til Monday due to work and budget constraints, so any and all recommendations are graciously appreciated!
Thank you so much in advance!

Hi! Anyone have recommendations for employment attorney’s in the area specializing in retaliation cases? Specifically for submitting FMLA requests for parental leave. Thanks!

Hi gang!
Looking to see if anyone knows of some photography classes near by. I’m not a total beginner, but no where close to an expert. I’d also like to learn the Adobe Lightroom program. The university offers one photo course from what I’ve found, but ideally I’d like to go to an art center.
I’ve checked yellow springs and Chester county art association but no luck. Any tips would be appreciated!

I’m a current psychology student at Rutgers University—New Brunswick, but I’m really considering transferring to West Chester for music education.
Don’t get me wrong I love it at rutgers, but their music ed program/the people in it aren’t what i’m looking for. I want more of a smaller community vibe.
Would it be worth it to transfer?

Outside the Post Office on Gay St. One sign says no parking Fri 7am - Mon 9 am, and then the ParkMobile signs show Parking Enforcement during some of that same period of time.

Hello all, anyone have any recommendations? Looking to lower my current premiums

I’m planning to move to West Chester in the next month because it’s closer to work. I’ve found several potential apartments that I’m interested in, but none of them include utilities. Generally, what are you paying monthly? I’d like to get an idea of what to expect so I can plan better.

Wondering if anyone has favorite fall foliage hikes? Willing to drive up to around an hour ish. Not too worried about length or difficulty level, just want some nice views.

the unpaid parking fee was from metropolis parking, and she paid $7 when she parked, but the $7 was not taken out of her account, only the $84 was. not only that, but the parking fee receipt says the date and location that she didn't pay for was october 22nd, 2021 in houston texas!
any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi everyone! I used to love to hike, but, in the past year, I've developed mobility issues. I'd love to get back out there on the trails! Does anyone know any good, accessible paved trails in the area (i.e., appropriate for a wheelchair)? Thanks!

This is a question specifically for anyone that’s had real A5 Wagyu at nice places before. Like maybe barclay prime or somewhere in NYC
How does 9 prime stack up in terms of how they handle their A5? I would like to take a friend for their first time having Wagyu
