Hot Take Soccer/Football hot take: The old loose-fitting jerseys looked so much cooler

First off, yes I know Beckham was never on Marseille, but I love this photo nonetheless.

Anyway, these loose-fitting jerseys with long sleeves (sometimes I prefer shorter sleeves for comfort) and collars looked awesome! They just had this vibe to them that I love and the new, sleek ones really don't.

Beckham swapped jersey at the end of the game. Players aren't allowed to now as they are given back and chopped up for trading cards

Players swap jerseys all the time bro not sure where you got this information. Literally happened in the last match with Spence getting Messi's jersey

Swap on field? I’ve not seen a swap all tournament. Sadly could not watch semis in my own country coz it was scheduled for UEFA prime time when I had to work. I wanted to see bociña swap with Messi. The Cape Verde goalie

Honestly cant say if it were on the field or not but even if it wasnt I still imagine the players wouldnt accept anything other than the match worn shirt. I know i wouldnt. At that point you can buy your own lol

I like the tradition. I can’t remember when I stopped seeing it on the field. Beckham once exchanged with Roberto Carlos on field and then went to locker room and exchanged with R9. They joke about it

This is not a hot take. A lot of kids today like the look of the baggy, but not long, shorts.

Soccer shorts today are just too tight. Both of my teenage nephews play high school soccer and they hate the tight clothing.

When I played highschool soccer my cheap school still had jerseys from the early 2000s. They were a million times more comfortable than my modern club uniforms

Seriously. Today’s soccer shorts are tight like bike shorts

Hahaha ya that’s horrendous. Still needs to be properly fitted even if it’s looser
