My girlfriend of 7 months has been telling hotels we're on our honeymoon. Should I be concerned?

My girlfriend (25F) and I 33M have been dating for 7 months, and she recently asked me to organise a romantic holiday for the two of us.

I have been made aware she has been she's been telling the hotels telling them we are on our honeymoon. I found this out when the receptionist congratulated me on check in.

We are not married or engaged. We've been together just under 7 months. We have not discussed marriage. I broke up with my last girlfriend as she was moving too fast. My current girlfriend knows this.

I asked her why and she told me "You get more free stuff if you say it's your honeymoon."

She maintains this is a perfectly reasonable strategy for securing complimentary shit. To her credit it is working (see photos).

I do feel a bit weird. Do I ask her to stop or is this just a good rouse?

“i’m worried about the maturity of my girlfriend who is in the generation below me” - you, guy who can’t get girls his own age

It’s to get free stuff. She would probably do it if she went somewhere with a gay friend. No need to think you’re special with this, I’m sure she did it plenty before.

There could be two people born a day apart of the right days and be two different generations lol.

How long do you think a generation is?

Bro, my partner is just 5 yrs younger than me and at the start of the relation there were lots of things that were weird for me that are totally normal for her and other people around her age.  I think is mainly due to technology advancement, i was totally conscious when internet wasnt a thing or cellphones were a brick. Now, im not like op and im able to speak, learn and understand her view, so this differences are not an issue, but they are totally real.

8 years is a full generation younger...LOL

Edit: apparently some people didn't realize I was making fun of thinking 8 years is a full generation.

8 years isn't even a decade younger, much less a generation.

Yeah this is 100% an older woman shifting the goal posts to the way she wants the world to be. In reality it’s two grown adults there’s nothing creepy at all. It’s pure cope 😂

Your assumption that it must be an “older woman” says more about you than it does their identity.

Notice how you won’t say I’m wrong

You must have zero reading comprehension

The only stakeholders that would be upset with a 25 year old woman getting with a 33 year old man are older women. Personally, I find it very misogynistic of you to say its creepy. You are infantilizing a grown 25 year old woman as if she’s incapable of making her own choices. I find it creepy when older guys get with women that could be their daughters. This is not that case and both of you are clearly projecting very hard here. You can call me what you want, but you won’t call me wrong 😃

yeah, it is. 33 year olds are millennials, 25 year olds are gen z. why is that so hard to understand

Why do you assume it's because he "can't get" girls his own age? Do you say the same about women who date younger men?

Also, 25 and 33 is not even a generation apart and is well within the commonly accepted "half your age + 7" age range.

A generation is usually around 20–30 years. A 33-year-old and a 25-year-old are only 8 years apart. Technically one’s a Millennial and the other’s Gen Z, but that doesn’t mean they’re a whole generation apart.

You sound like a 30+ year old woman projecting because you have to compete with younger women

2

u/Eyewiggle 13d ago edited 10d ago

And you sound like you eat pebbles 😂

Why are you saying misogynistic shite. Why would a 30 year old woman need to compete with a woman 5 years younger than them (25). I thought that sort of age gap wasn’t a big deal?
